Like many other older ships in STO such as the T'varo, Kumari and the Somraw, the D5 too if put into the game should have a modernized name and variants.
I'd like to see the Acamarian frigate made a playable ship. In TNG, it was most notably featured as a Talarian warship. It's such a great design that was seen all over Star Trek throughout the years in service with multiple factions.
I'd like to see the Starfleet of yesteryear fleshed out a bit. We've still got ships from the extended Galaxy family that aren't in game (like the New Orleans, or Freedom); but I'd like to see more ships from the Excelsior and Ambassador eras as well.
More than anything, I really wish Cryptic would kitbash up an Ambassador styled Heavy Cruiser variant.
If it wasn't for copyrighting and all that noise, I'd love to see the Achilles Class from DS9: Dominion Wars. I orginally wanted that ship before I saw the Luna
The Xindi made an appearence in the last featured episode. Seems they could actually be potential candidates - if they make a point of including them now, it may be a way to set up bringing additional Xindi content. See also here: http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1102771
Before in Insurrection, which is the current model in STO and obsolete.
And the latest canon version from Nemesis
Also of import in that article is the additional torpedo launchers on the model.
I think that that neck would also work well with the Assault Cruiser variants already present in game.
"Rise like Lions after slumber, In unvanquishable number, Shake your chains to earth like dew, Which in sleep had fallen on you-Ye are many they are few"
Can we get an upgrade to the model of the Sovereign class? It's very low poly and could use some love with being so iconic!
A lot of ships that have been around since launch could use some retouching. The ship art team has done some absolutely amazing work of late, and every new ship they release continues to astound me with it's quality... but they do make the older ones look pretty bad by comparison.
It's a little unfortunate that so many of said old ships are such iconic ones, too. It's great that the Nicor and the Avenger and the S'Golth look so amazing and all... but I'd honestly prefer to have a Sovereign, Galaxy and Intrepid of that quality, given the choice.
So yeah, I do hope the dev team can get to redoing some of those older ships.

Man how I wish that the reason why they are not fixing the broken graphics on these old ships is that they've actually been updating the artwork.
If something is not broken, don't fix it, if it is broken, don't leave it broken.

Here here. Would make my day if one day I log on to an all new Federation fleet next to Earth space-dock. Begone horrible early Cryptic knock-off ship variants.

I don't know if it's possible since it involves a Federation ship developed for another Star Trek game, but I would love to see the Strider-class starships from Star Trek Legacy:
The Strider was labeled as a "scout" in that game ... essentially a cross between an escort and a science vessel.
I just really liked the Strider in that game because it was a cross between three of my favorite movie-era starships (Constitution, Excelsior, and Oberth).
I'd like to see more ships in STO that are styled after the movie-era ships and I like the idea of a hybrid escort/science ship.
I really like that. Swap out that torp launcher in the nose for a deflector, and it would make a nice retro Nova variant.
Badlands Pack Relive the tense battles and guerilla warfare of the Maquis Campaign with these updated replicas of the ships that originally fought it!
Includes: Maquis Raider, Bajoran Militia Interceptor, Cardassian Hideki-class Frigate
Delta Quadrant Pack The cultures of the Delta Quadrant are making contact with the Alpha and Beta Quadrants for the second time. Examples of their ships are making their way into allied hands, and you get the chance to try them out!
Includes: Vidiian Reaver Cruiser, Hierarchy Strategic Surveillance Vessel, B'omar Patrol Gunship
Starfleet Reserves Pack Not all Starfleet ships are as iconic as the Galaxy-class or the Odyssey-class. These ships serve the Federation out of the spotlight, but with the new Undine threat, even they are being released onto the front lines.
Includes: Yeager-class Long Range Science Vessel, New Orleans-class Light Cruiser, Niagara-class Exploration Cruiser
Just some thoughts on how this sort of thing might be done. Do feel free to suggest your own.
Edit: changed Delta Quadrant Pack description to be faction-neutral.

There used to be a picture here, but they changed signatures and I can't be bothered to replace it.

Will Cryptic ever model the Enterprise from the 2009 Star Trek film along with the bridge, because the film is technically AU canon if you count prime Spock and the jellyfish.

Nope. Cryptic's licence is with CBS; but it is Paramount that holds the licence for Trek 2009. It's basically because CBS and Paramount had a breakup some years back; Cryptic can't use anything from the new films.

Damn, is there a ship and bridge that closely resembles the AU flims?
Damn, is there a ship and bridge that closely resembles the AU flims?
Not particularly. Closest ship (at tier 5 anyway) would probably be the Ambassador retrofit; but that's still very different.
I think there might be a bridge that is somewhat similar; pale grey colours, and free standing glass wall displays surrounding the central area. Couldn't say how close it really is, or what it's called though; haven't seen it in a couple of years.
Would love to see a Maquis Raider (Condor class I believe) in the game, also although not seen on screen the TOS era had the Ptolemy class 'tug' / freighter which had an interesting look
The Maquis Raider is called the Peregrine class and is in the game (as a C-Store small craft). It comes with 2 tac console slots and a built in (non-BOFF) Cannon Rapid Fire I. I used one (with 2 single cannons on it, after testing it with duals and getting frustrated at the small firing arc) during the Shuttle Event a few weeks ago.
The Peregrine is a Starfleet fighter used by the Marquis on occasion. The Marquis Rader is the SS Val Jean, Chakotay's ship, mainly refered to as Ju'day Class.
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

Maybe some FED carrier with two deflectors.
More than anything, I really wish Cryptic would kitbash up an Ambassador styled Heavy Cruiser variant.

Yes please. As a Sovereign class captain myself, I'd really appreciate an updated model for the ship.
I would second the Achilles Class, I love that ship. there is also the Mahan-class, it's like a cross between the Sovereign and a carrier https://home.comcast.net/~srgriffiths/leviathanmain.htm

Since the Xindi are now Federation members, if they still have any ships worth using*, they would probably be Starfleet ships.
I hear a variant on the Dauntless is supposed to be in development so I have most of my canon wishes.
I wouldn't mind seeing the Allegiance in STO though, good luck with the legal work.
Indeed, and more than anything upgrade the layout to the Nemesis model.
