While not having read the entire thread I did skim through and I assume many of the suggestions made were added to the second post (I didn't see this one there, so maybe it hasn't been done yet)...
Can we ask for a ship to not be put in the game? The Wells class is TRIBBLE. KEEP IT OUTTA MY STAR TREKS!!!!
I totally agree with the NO WELLS CLASS!
So I just want to reiterate I would like the D5_class Battlecruiser, with it's dual cannons, by 2409 standards, functioning like a dual turret. Higher damge, slower rate of fire equaling the same DPS as a standard turret, and it would be leveling like the TOS Connie phasers. Of course this would only work like the Fed Replica ships at tier 1, so until the KDF have a full game...

I was glad to see the Scimitar in the game, would love it more if there were a mission on which we could take one over:D
But for ships I would love to see the following:
V'ger
General Chang's Bird of Prey or a modification that allows you to fire while cloaked
The Son'a ships of Insurrection
JJ Abrams USS Enterprise
Narada
Maybe even a 25th Century version of the Federation Class ship
USS Kelvin and the other Starfleet ships from the 2009 Star Trek Movie
Some that I would like to see but know the chances are slim to none due to copyrights from other games are the following:
Missouri Class battleship from Klingon Academy - maybe converted into a Battleship Carrier hybrid
Yamato Class battleship from Starfleet Academy - just like the Missouri a hybrid
Ulysses Class dreadnaught from Starfleet Academy
Achilles Class from Dominion Wars
"Richard, I'll give you one word of advice, you shouldn't anger a demigod" - Lord Archanfel, Supreme Zoalord and leader of the Chronos Organization in the series Guyver: The Bioboosted Armor series.
General Chang's BoP is the B'rel class BoP you can buy in the C-store. It can 'fire while cloaked', but only torpedoes- which is consistent with Chang's BoP.
Otherwise, I'd love to see (or better yet, play a mission or series of missions based around) the Delta Rana Warship as a Husnock vessel- or better yet, as a lockbox ship.
I'd also love to see Positron/Antiproton beams- which are what the ship used. These beams, visually, look like blue antiproton. Same sort of shade, same colouring- just blue. They're awesome and I know we've got a surfeit of blue beams already, but they look wicked cool.
I'd also love to see more canon ship weapons and weapon uses.
EDIT: Maybe some sort of 'phase resonant pulse' console- basically an activation that drains/knocks out shields in an AoE effect. Sort of like an antiproton sweep, but disruptor based.
My nomination would be a Galaxy Class battleship just like in TNG: Yesterdays Enterprise.
They could release it as a Mirror version of the Regent Class, you might call it a fan service.
Featuring:
- The same Hull Hp, BOFF & Console Layout as the Regent class.
- No saucer Seperation.
- The ship (model) itself should be a bit bigger ~ 110% of the Galaxy Class size, as it is in the Game.
- Crew: 2000
- Base Turnrate like the Galaxy Class.
- All Galaxy Class Variant ship parts availlable.
As i said, i would be purely a fan service. Not so much for people who just look at the stats.
They couled even release it as a additional unlock for everyone who has already bought the regent class.
I hope my english is understandable, since most of the time i find it difficult to find the right words in my native language.
"...'With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured...the first thought forbidden...the first freedom denied--chains us all irrevocably.' ... The first time any man's freedom is trodden on, we're all damaged. I fear that today--"
- (TNG) Picard, quoting Judge Aaron Satie
i know this ship is not canon and everyone's tired of cruisers but this ship was created by John Eaves who created the sovereign so its kind of legit. it would be nice to see it in game as a skin for the soverign or entirely new ship maybe with cannons and a turn rate of 15.5  http://i.imgur.com/njrlP.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/UuPUG.gif would of been nice if this was the regents and there should be no problem getting the copy rights its basically the sovereign
After they get canon ships like the Ambassador and New Orleans-class in-game, I wouldn't mind seeing more of the old concept art ships being made. Yes, even the odd looking "Excalibur" ship. Maybe even the version with the slightly angled upward warp pylons seen here.
I could see this one being a good Engineering/Tactical cross over ship. Maybe with a special weapons console like a dual beam bank with a wider firing arc. Due to the Voyager style saucer section.
Space is vast, it's wonderful and maddening. Yet in that madness is some of the greatest beauty I have ever seen.
I understand everyone in this game shares a certain attachment or love for one particular design or another of a ship. Heck we all do, it's what makes this game great, and continues to do so. So I propose this, and this honestly cannot be this difficult. With all that the C-Store has offered us in the past, present and soon to be future, why not allow us to purchase the parts of the ships we love the most, designed the way we love them the most. Example:
I fell in love with the Nebula Class ship from TNG the first day I saw it (with the triangular pod, not circular), but hated that it was not in the game for a long, long time. Once it came out, oh yeah, I ponied up the $$ and bought it. Played it to death. Was my flagship, until I watched the movie First Contact...then wanted a Sovereign. Anyways, Sovereign didn't exist yet, so bought next closest, "Space Whale" (Star Cruiser) and configured it as it was a larger version of the Nebula. My point being, with all these parts now just "floating" about, what if I wanted the Naucelles of the Nebula on the Star Cruiser? Just a little bigger? Heck if Simon and Schuster could do it with a DOS based proggie, why not Cryptic, on a larger scale?
Where I'm leading with this is I'm sure it's within Cryptic's power to create a Planitia Fleet Yard, where we can create such vast designs and not ruin the fun of playing the game. Keeping in mind that your rank and your officer allow only so many types of slots for your BO's, thus, no matter what the design of the ship, you are still playing within the rules.
Secondly: After said purchase, what if you decide to decommission said ship, but friend says, "No way dude, I wanna buy it from you"... (and yes I'm taking this directly from another MMO, because in fact, this is how it grew to where it is now), sales of your old stuff (ship design) could be money for you (Zen) to buy a new item, and make an old friend happy... Just food for thought. I think it should really work out well... (and no you're not gonna put a tricobalt device launcher in the Captain's Yaught that's silly, but you can add it to the scenery or transporter option of the ship when in space...so instead of having to go to ESD, or anywhere else to change ships, you could go aboard your local ship's transporter, and take the yaught out for a spin, or shuttle, runabout, or delta flyer...)
How about the ships from the Battle of Wolf 359 Graveyard Scenes such as the Niagara Class:
The Challenger Class:
Or the Freedom Class:
I modelled those as a mod for Star Trek Legacy, considering the hull of the Niagara is the Ambassador class hull and the rest of the parts are from the Galaxy it should be easy to make using existing assets.
"I walked away from the last great Time War. I marked the passing of the Time Lords. I saw the birth of the universe and watched as time ran out, moment by moment, until nothing remained. No time, no space. Just me!"
I wouldn't mind seeing more kit bash components, like most people I bought the Odyssey, I would love it if it had different pylon layouts, hull configurations etc.
I built up a toon for each specialization, Tactical, Science and Engineering and each is flying a tier 5 ship except for my Science officer, he's in a Magellan (Nebula variant), I'm toying with the idea of buying a Vesta but it isn't really the science cruiser I would like to have, A Nebula like variant for the Odyssey would be ideal.
If something is not broken, don't fix it, if it is broken, don't leave it broken.
I like the idea of not adding more ships but adding more themed parts such as adding TNG styled naucelles and hull to the Soverign Class to allow us to create hybrid/retrofitted ships.
"I walked away from the last great Time War. I marked the passing of the Time Lords. I saw the birth of the universe and watched as time ran out, moment by moment, until nothing remained. No time, no space. Just me!"
I don't have any problems with them adding more ships, I would like to see some variety of designs flying around rather than everyone in clones of a few high end setups. Costume unlocks for existing ships would be much a appreciated so that we could customize ships that we've already purchased. What I'm hoping not to see is too many "Old Style" ships being created, nostalgia can take things too far and then it makes it feel like people are trying to turn this into a different game.
If something is not broken, don't fix it, if it is broken, don't leave it broken.
I think they need to fix the canon ships first, before we gain any more ships. Like, look at the Sovereign, the registry is in the wrong place and the deflector looks like a spider! The existing ships should be fixed first.
If we are to add more ships, I'd like a Venture Refit (not the STO costume) to the Galaxy-class. It's canon, it's easy to do, and it looks interesting. Also, perhaps a Hutet, K'Vorcha, or Achilles-class starships from DS9: Dominion Wars. They're not in the show, but they are interesting designs which generally keep to the looks of the various races' ships in the show.

Unless I'm missing something it has the phaser strips on the nacelles left over from the Dreadnought model, and that's it, not really that interesting.
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

'...I can tell you that we're not in the military and that we intend no harm to the whales.' Kirk: The Voyage Home

'I'm not a soldier anymore. I'm an engineer.' Miles O'Brien: Empok Nor

Any variant of the Galaxy-class is interesting, since there currently is no way to get the extra phaser strips other than on the Dreadnought. It's a shame, the U.S.S. Venture configuration would better suit the wartime nature of STO, as it did in the Dominion War.
And I'm not sure if this is just a CGI error, but the U.S.S. Challenger in VOY: "Timeless" had the ship's name on the bottom of the saucer, near the registry. This could also be on the refitted versions of the Galaxy-class, including the Venture-type.

I would love to see the Akula Perimiter Action Ship with the Bia Deflector Pod in STO as a fed escort that can equip cannons. The Akyazi design without the Bia Deflector pod could be a variant skin (although I personally think the Bia Deflector Pod gives the ship great character). The ship was in several previous Star Trek games, including Star Trek Legacy. Here are a few links to the ships of this class:
I could see this one being a good Engineering/Tactical cross over ship. Maybe with a special weapons console like a dual beam bank with a wider firing arc. Due to the Voyager style saucer section.
This is a cross between the uss voyager and the marquis ship that they met on the first episode of star trek voyager called Caretaker
Even this design looks too new to be in a prequel but I would have preferred this ship to the one that was used in the series and I would love to see this version in the game.
If something is not broken, don't fix it, if it is broken, don't leave it broken.
