Namesake: State of West Virginia, Battleship West Virginia BB-48 and SSBN West Virginia.

U.S.S. Concord NCC-4001776, Excelsior Class Cruiser Retrofit

Atlantis. Obelisk Carrier
Namesake: Lost City of Atlantis
Plesh Brek: USS Bish Bash Bosh
Khyzon: USS Wilberforce
Sci Oddy: Gimpotron 5000
All the others: murk, murkington, murktown or variations thereof (my main toon is called Murker, and I thought it would be amusing).
My ship is called Belaruz (all ships are belaruz except marks on the end B-1 , A,Z etc.), I liked this name on the first sight.
Belaruz was a 4 unhabitable planet neutral zone system between Romulans and Federation and to me it is best ever designed by game developers so the ship was called in tribute to this system.
The game with Belaruz system was called Star trek Bridge commander who was a forerunner to this game.
My ferengi toon flies a d'kora named Voshma.
In ferengi lore, there is a statue of a ferengi woman made of pure latinum, made by a famous ferengi sculptor.
Those who read legends of the ferengi will know it
Fed side - My Vulcan Sci's main ship is the U.S.S. Liberty (as in the Sleeper Ship of same name in Freelancer) It was an assault cruiser, then I made the mistake of swapping it for the mirror version, so one day it will be replaced by an Assault Cruiser Refit. And that might be upraded to the fleet version.
Eventually I'll give her a Tactical Oddy to go with it.
My Andorian Tac currently has an Ushaan-skinned Gladius T2 Escort named after Commander Shran, and eventually will have a T5 version of it, and a Kumari.
And my latest character who hasn't finished the tutorial yet is a remake of an Altmer from TES, so all her ships are going to be named after elven towns and cities.
Klingon side - haven't really played my Klingon side chars much, just on levelling up BoPs...
Rom side - only have one, and she is still working out what ships to use at level 49, but its a toss up between Prime Ha'Paax and Mirror Ha'feh right now.
My Romulan, Morgan Thavrau, currently has the following lineup:
T'liss-class: RRW Tovarek. The T'liss-class was dubbed Vas Hatham-class in the FASA RPG, and ChR Tovarek was the name of a Vas Hatham in Star Trek: Legacy.
Escort Refit Gladius-class: USS Glamdring NCC-93580. The gladius is the type of sword used by Roman legionnaires, and all the Gladius-class' sister designs are named for swords, so I decided to name mine after a specific sword (Glamdring the Foe-Hammer from Tolkien).
Yellowstone-class Runabout: RRW Gend'eroth. Starfleet names runabouts after rivers, so I named it after a river on Romulus.
Mogai-class: RRW Aquila. Belonged to a couple of different ships in the Starfleet Command series. More to the point, it's "eagle" in Latin.
D'Deridex-class: RRW Scrillius. Randomly generated name from Star Trek: Armada II.
Kestrel Runabout: RRW Bareldak, after the Bareldak Bay on Romulus.
Ambassador-class: USS Madrigal NCC-93904, after HMS Madrigal from Honor Harrington: The Honor of the Queen.
Ha'apax-class: RRW Irrhaimehner, Romulan word meaning roughly "to settle scores".
Eventual Fleet D'D: RRW Tears of Algeron, after a D'D in the Reeves-Stevenses' novel Federation.
"Great War! / And I cannot take more! / Great tour! / I keep on marching on / I play the great score / There will be no encore / Great War! / The War to End All Wars"
— Sabaton, "Great War"
...and Before that i had Another cruiser named ''Limited'' as in ''we are all limited'' or ''we are only as limited as we think''
...For we are young,
Wandering the face of the earth,
Wondering what our dreams might be worth,
Learning that we're only immortal
For a limited time...
My ship is named the USS Overwatch. As a science captain I spend a lot of time in battles watching other players to see who needs help (sheild repair, etc.). So your not alone when the Overwatch is there.
Changed my mind on the name for my Romulan's Fleet D'deridex. RRW Aen'rhien, Romulan for "bloodwing". A bloodwing is the Romulan equivalent of a vulture, and it's also a reference to ChR Bloodwing from the Rihannsu novels.
"Great War! / And I cannot take more! / Great tour! / I keep on marching on / I play the great score / There will be no encore / Great War! / The War to End All Wars"

Three flies the George Takei, an Avenger-class battlecruiser with an intentionally insane rainbow loadout that still gets over 10k DPS without fleet gear.
D'trel flies the Vengeance, a T'varo retrofit. The reason is obvious if you know her backstory...
USS Zero Divide - a Multi-Mission Reconnaissance Explorer. A joke name because you can't divide by zero.
USS Zero Tolerance - a Fleet Avenger. Because the ship is a battleship and it needed a name to show it. Makes peaceful missions slightly more difficult to do, however.
Fed: U.S.S. Kiyoo-Maru Kai (Tactical vesta). Japanese for "Enterprise"
KDF: IKS Sat'cho (Kar'fi) -- named after the Japanese Alliance of Warriors in the 19th century that fought numeorus glorious battle and eventually overturn the old rules and restored the honor and glory of Japanese.
Rom-Fed/KDF: RRW/IRW Veruul: named after a predfator in the Old Romulan Homeworld that usually hide in water until it come out and strike.. Also a Romulan insult
U.S.S. Akhenaten - Egyptian pharaoh who attempted to convert Egypt to the belief of a single God in 1336 BC. He failed and was nearly erased from history for this act. His son was King Tut and his wife was Nefertiti.
I pickd the name because 1) I love egyptology 2) sometimes the journey into the unkown starts with one man, an idea and the willingness to sacrafice his life and legacy for the chance to advance his species.
My other main vessle is the U.S.S. Rekurzion (actually spelling is recursion) - But in order to understand recursion, one must first understand recursion
Well, Icerose (human tac) has moved on from the Heavy escort carrier (I just never liked the look of it, for me if i dont like the look of it, im not going to play it) to a Andorian Charal escort. Her name is USS John Sheridan, because it reminds of the Whitestar from B5. (And i am love playing it)
Ancient Griffon insult
That one is so stupid, he lost a Rock/Paper/Scissors game to a Pony.

I've always been a fan of tanking and the name sounded pretty intimidating so i went with it
I received something like the following when I attempted to enter a custom name or click the random name button.
"Error, you do not own this ship."
I wonder if I would get reported if I attempted to call my ship the following (excluding the asterisks):
Badass Motherf**ker
Khyzon: USS Wilberforce
Sci Oddy: Gimpotron 5000
All the others: murk, murkington, murktown or variations thereof (my main toon is called Murker, and I thought it would be amusing).
Sampa Firespitter: USS Hornet
reason for name choice:
Sounded noble and seemed to fit him perfectly
Next will be an Odyssey-class cruiser to be named:
USS Ptolemaios for similar reasons

Fed rom: RRW Alidar's Revenge. For obvious reasons.
Klingon: Doesn't really have a name for his ship yet.

Naw, only the Sinew is a shuttle, its the chariot. The rest are my Orion and Nausicaan ships, which are my favorites. Love not having to add a prefix.
Abaddon... now THERE'S a name. Nothing like briniging up the ancient Demons of Hebrew nightmares of destruction!
I approve!!
Right now I'm in a bug called Outlaw Star. Got a couple others like Cowboy Bebop, Fooly Cooly, Final Fantasy, and Wing Zero.
For my Rom I just stuck to musical terms like Sonata, Fur Elise, and Etude.
