Why are all of you surprised? This was in the description for the TRIBBLE Hourly Rep projects, it just wasn't working.

Just because people read the patch notes it does not mean they are on tribble.

    And so it begins....

Not really. Just saying, Cryptic gives me no reason to log in for more than 3 hours per day with these changes. I currently play considerably less than that most days anyways. This just gives me further incentive -not- to login more frequently.

Yep, it's never put there. Just like it was quickly pulled last Summer. Oh, last Winter was pulled too. And er, the Winter before that. It's never put there. ;)

Not everyone reads the blog posts, or at least comprehends them until they see action in game. And this is action. The limit was left off for those of us wishing to burn through rep stuff to get to t5 on tribble to test gear. Now they are implementing the restriction to test it.

it's not that it was already on tribble.

it's that we're being throttled little by little, here and there. i mean, why is this even necessary? to avoid players from advancing too quickly? so what? they're putting in the effort. if they have the time and energy to crunch out the hourly projects, then so be it.

    Season 9 dev blog #3 http://community.arcgames.com/en/news/star-trek-online/detail/3038363
    Hourly

These hourly XP projects may be run a handful of times per day. Once that limit has been met, this project will be replaced by an hourly project that instead yields bonus Dilithium instead of reputation XP, in addition to the standard reward pack. There is no limit on how many times this bonus Dilithium project can be run.

So yeah they never told us this was going to happen. And the patch notes here failed to mention the other non-XP hourly project for bonus dilithium. The hourly bonus dilithium project has been on tribble for some time along with the houly XP project, so you could do either or both. Not sure if the project now only unlocks once you reach your 3 hourly XP projects per day on tribble. Though this means that once you reach your 3 hourly XP limit, you can do the other hourly for bonus dil *and* the reward pack that gets you a random piece of rep equipment. So there is a reason to keep playing on a single character.

No, they were physically in the project descriptions. Not on the patch notes here. And what he posted above: ^ :P

so there's absolutely nothing else you can do in game than rep grind, and on only 1 toon?

the rep changes really have no effect on me as most of my characters are max anyway. The only thing that bothers me is that they are removing the OMEGA t3 ability which gives you a longer period of time before you have to remodulate against borg. That is probably the best ability for ground Vs borg right now and it is going away.

This change was partially reverted in the previous patch:
Omega Graviton Pulse Generator has been granted the additional effects of slowing down Borg adaptation during Ground Combat.

For more clarification on the cooldown for hourly reputation projects, once you have completed 3 hourly projects that grant XP for the reputation it's part of, a new hourly project will unlock which will give you dilithium and a rewardpack but no XP.

Currently, there is an issue where you will see 2 hourly projects - one with XP and one without. The one without XP should not be available and is meant to unlock once you have completed 3 of the hourly projects in one day which do grant XP for reputation systems.

rofl this is basically for all of us who grinded out reputations and being able to make a choice of this or that per tier. So instead with 23 characters thats 184 passives I won't get that I grinded up. So doesn't really matter what reps you guys push out being that they won't make an impact on me needing or wanting to grind any more reps pretty much killed off the need or want to do them lol.

When I was playing the reward packs just became an annoying pest having to recycle them each time I got one because I never got anything useful out of them lol. Seems like these decisions are a lame attempt to try to contain the damage control but that isn't even working lol.

    Yeah, see post #38.

What I would like to know is that, after doing 3 hourly XP projects on a single character, is the cooldown account wide, or is it a per character basis? Would I be able to spend another 3 hours on another character in the same day doing those projects?

The Cooldown is per-character, and per-Reputation.

Meaning that doing 3 Omega XP Hourly projects does not lock out doing Nukara XP Hourly projects on that same character, and does not have any impact on doing additional Omega XP Hourly Projects on other characters.

Not in the patch notes: you guys finally fixed the weapons missing while our character is in anything but the standard stance. Woot.

tbh i kinda like it, it might encourage me to do my other toons, out of 12 i've only got 3 rep'd up

but also i don't recall actually remembering to do more than 3 dyson hourly projects, but i'm sure there are plenty of people who did remember to do one every hour on the hour every time.

Somewhat disappointed there's still no sign of widespread secondary deflectors for science ships. Is there any chance of getting an ETA on them? I am guessing not season 9.

But, anyways: Look what I found on tribble: http://imgur.com/a/jazOG#0

    Old system - 2 dailies = 2800 XP
    New system - 1 hourly and 1 daily = 2800 XP
With testing on tribble it will take about 35 days to reach tier 5 rep, without sponsorship, the same as the old system. With sponsorship it will take about 20 days only doing the daily project.

So you don't need to spend an extra 2 hours per day on a character. You can just get enough to do the hourly project once and the daily and have time leftover for alts, like the old system.

Doing 2 more hourly projects per day means you'll speed up your tiers slightly faster and cut off a couple days or so.

    SWEET JESUS

    Don't wanna fly that.

I do, however, want to do a mission on that where I save its passengers from a Nausicaan terror plot or something, a-la Fifth Element...
