Look, you're looking at it all wrong at the wrong perspective and here's why:
When Dyson was first dropped, players tore through the rep like it was nothing. It took them inside a month to complete and what was greeted at them at the end of the road? Nothing. Because they went too fast. Cryptic had hoped to get the Tier V stuff set up before all of that and had not expected everyone to loophole abuse the living hell out of the Dyson rep. So, Cryptic was left with their tail between their legs and forced to admit they weren't ready for them.
I think this is what Cryptic is saying all along: would you stop trying to go so fast that you're not enjoying everything? Slow down!
The reps are easier: there's a set number of marks, EC and XP needed, the items themselves no longer need XP to be obtained and you have the Sponsorships to help speed it up a bit. Stop thinking that faster = easier. It only leads to burn out and demands for moar.
I honestly don't burn through reps in just under a week, But being forced to slow down my rep when I have more than enough marks to do more is ridiculous. I love the current rep system that's implimented on the holodeck for Dyson. I really want all the other rep systems to run like that, (Which we are getting).
Now for the other idiots that just rush through everything just to get to the end game or to get the rewards, then those are the idiots Cryptic doesn't need to worry about, because those are the people who skip cutscenes if they never seen them, and pretty much skip everything that is not necessary to get to end game. I personally play for the story and ALL the scenes I can get.
Burning through rep isn't my main objective... It's the journey there.

Holy TRIBBLE. rofl...
Are we even on the same planet?
How do you abuse an 'available' game feature that was 'working as intended'?
How do you abuse an 'available' game feature that was 'working as intended'?
It's possible. Do you remember the posts where certain fleets already got Tier 3 of the Spire when it shouldn't of been possible? There you go. There were people who abused the system (but, they're obviously not going to say how to get Cryptic's wrath.)
Somewhat disappointed there's still no sign of widespread secondary deflectors for science ships. Is there any chance of getting an ETA on them? I am guessing not season 9.
Nitpicking is a time-honored tradition of science fiction. Asking your readers not to worry about the "little things" is like asking a dog not to sniff at people's crotches. If there's something that appears to violate natural laws, then you can expect someone's going to point it out. That's just the way things are.
I think that New Romulus Command could use a few minor upgrades that would substantially improve the QOL (quality of life) for Romulan players who spend time there.
1. Security Officer DOFF contact: Pretty self explanatory, I'd like to be able to turn in contraband and other things while spending time at New Romulus Command. There are several of these spread across the galaxy and it just doesn't make sense that a Command Center wouldn't have one.
2. Allied Faction DOFF grinder: As we all know Romulans can use their allied faction's DOFFs. What they cannot do is grind them up/down conveniently due to faction specific grinders. It would make things less frustrating if there was a universal grinder stationed at New Romulus Command.
3. Lore Mission Contact: For those of you who do not know, there is a Lore Mission located at two locations depending on FED/KDF. It is located at the respective academies, and with the course of the mission you gain insight into the game's back story. Since a large part of the game's backstory deals with the fall of the Romulan Star Empire, and the destruction of Romulus itself, i believe that new Romulus Command should have a way to educate Romulan players on their rich history.
Any chance these additions to New Romulus Command could become a reality?
Only in Cryptic PWE world would we have hourly projects that can only be done 3 times a day >< . Can see this hitting those that do rely on them the most. Cryptic logic is....fascinating.
Fine. If you don't wanna talk about Risa we can talk about...umm...Undine. Yeah. So um...yeah. Undine.
There are so many Undine on Risa because of the lax state of awareness, all those partiers and vacationers letting down their guard, Risa should be the starting place for Undine hunters everywhere.:D

Still no mention of making the Infected skin, full body yet.... Hrmm...
As for the rep cooldowns, I can honestly say that it seems like an odd choice. Why give people something to reward them (barely) for grinding, but them limit how often they can (barely) be rewarded for doing what you wanted them to do?
Going through the Dyson grind was a bit weird for me, because it was easier to just do the single daily rather than grind for how little of a reward the hourly gave. Much like the Hourly events calendar, this seems more like Cryptic is limiting the players purposely rather than doing anything to actually fix the problems that Cryptic made when players started doing exactly what Cryptic wanted them to do in the first place.
Another slight concern is the limitations and heavy grind focus this game is being forced into (probably by PWE), but if all we're really getting now in terms of seasons is: A new rep to grind, a new fleet rep to grind, a new "zone" to grind in, and a mission or two to aid in the grind, then why would you limit the players capacity to grind in the manner you've designed them to grind in? That's like building the game around a slow power creep where players will only ever become better in tiny increments, then suddenly updating that system to limit the players from using everything they've unlocked so far... which you're also doing in season 9...
Does Cryptic even have a foot left to shoot themselves in at this point?

you want to know the super lols part?
the new rep isn't worth grinding since the rep passives system was fubar'd.
there isn't any information about a new fleet holding as of yet, and the new season will be here in 12 days.
When Dyson was first dropped, players tore through the rep like it was nothing. It took them inside a month to complete and what was greeted at them at the end of the road? Nothing. I think this is what Cryptic is saying all along: would you stop trying to go so fast that you're not enjoying everything? Slow down!
After the first three days of checking out the content that rewards the appropriate marks, what's to enjoy?!? Does something change on the fourth day of the month long grind that will make you step back and appreciate? It's a grind, pure and simple, and the faster it's done with the better.
Somewhat disappointed there's still no sign of widespread secondary deflectors for science ships. Is there any chance of getting an ETA on them? I am guessing not season 9.
What a lovely design! I despise mindsets without taste for fine things of beauty; that is, if that whining inhibits Cryptic's plans in any way regarding the release of this masterpiece. Finally, a non-warship for the optimistic future that is supposed to be Star Trek.
I love that the arboretum is changeable to different types of environments. I hope this means it is an available interior deck for using summer stuff year round, maybe even a winter deck for using winter event stuff year round too. Hoping for this as a summer event player cruiser.
More ship diversity is a great idea. Brighter, happier designs all around is an even better idea, because right now, the entirety of Starfleet is wearing all drab black.
Rep is yer easy way to 8k dil per day per toon now. You only need to do a few things daily, like the romulan daily, go to the ground battle zone go to the space battle zone, do a stf run, and a CCE, and you have enough marks per day for your hourlies....
Its up to you how many toons you can handle. I can handle 35 right now because i play 15 of them when i want and grind doff assingments on the rest when i am playing my main toon.
Whats it gonna be like when all my toons have 60k Omega marks + whatever else marks they have at tier 5 rep.
TO play them i only need one decent build per toon ( which isnt expensive or hard to get together now.... ). There will be a point in time where i am logging into a toon just to turn in my marks to Make my REFINED dilithium.
People feel the need to RUSH grind.... then complain about it. This game is NOT a grind. YOU MAKE it a grind because you want stuff NOW. Not the case for a smart player, who dont spend RL cash on this FREE TO PLAY game. If you want stuff NOW pay cash, OR learn how the DEVS and people in charge have made it a LEGIT easy way to get what you want. Instead of a 60 second foundry exploit.
IMO opinion the WORST thing cryptic could do for themselves is somehow speed up the loading screens. Thats the only thing that slows a person down. Not wanting to look at a loading screens everytime you switch a toon. It gets worse at the toon amount of 35. ( all you need to do is get said toons to level 11..... then level em with DOFF assingments for too weeks, then play them... funnel all your resources to a MAIN TOON. WHICH YOU CAN DO.
there is nothing in this game that puts you AHEAD of anybody if you are the first to get THAT SHIP. Except your own self gratitude, ,which isnt valuble to anybody but you in the game, and most people that have a sense of maturity would not be impressed.
And yah i do this, while running a group of 280 players as thier fleet leader. And yes we are tier 5/3/3/3 at the end of the month. Only reason it took us so long is because we didnt care, we wanted to be a group of cool friendly players that are known for being NICE, and not Elltist grinding jerks that have to be FIRST at everything..... That just causes to much unecessary BS and KILLS the fleet. Expecially when you play with MATURE players, young and old.
We also dont care what people assume about us, because we are in our own "universe" when playing.
And yes i do know how to spell, but i am "TAMUNESE". English is not my first language when typing

Forget swimwear - floaters, man, floaters!

Floaters, hell, skinny-dipping is where it's at.
Did it get taken down? or is it just bugged at the moment?
Would it be alright if I used these screen shots? I will credit you of course.
If this ship is the real deal, it sure looks funky.
Just pics from the test server, do whatever you want with them. Though, I would say that the "Risian Cruiseliner" is a good ways off from finished.
Edit: Meh. Whatever.
If it's down, then the ship leak is the reason.

There, I fixed that for you.
On a separate note, that ship must be gigantic. The back area is nearly the size of the courtyard at Starfleet Academy.
Yep key notes you should learn from these masters on bridge burning.
1. Start all bridge burnings with a seemingly fair conversion on paper.
2. Insert hard cap and throw more fuel on the fire.
3. Create a grind and make it as grindy as possible.
4. Be the savior and make the grind easier
5. Remove said accolades players earned from grinding and reset the ceiling to basically resell to them which they previously had already paid for.
6. Repeat steps 1-5 because there are always new customers who havent bought anything yet.
7. Always keep in mind that KDF content is only to be added once every 3 earth years.
And all the newer reputations will have more powerful items than before.

s9, Bored as hell, with nothing new to grind for.
The rep system isn't worth running for you. Your opinion does not dictate fact for the entire playerbase.
passives and gear are inferior to what exists. fact.
