Can't tell me you havn't noticed it... It's rather obvious.
I have noticed it - but it looks like a phaser lance, not a plasma lance ,so I wonder if they are actually referring to the push effect, that might look a bit "plasma-onic", but then, it's totally not a lance, so...

Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...

Actually, unless I look for it fairly hard, I never see the thing.
I suppose being in the midst of 50 MU ships BFAWing at the lot would probably make it hard to see a single lance shot on the far side of the map though...........

I have the impression that sometimes SFX isn't even shown because there is too much going on. Sometimes not even rifts, which can be annoying, because you realize too late that your side might be empty of rifts, but the opposing end there are entire mirror universes spilling out... Ahem.

True that... I suppose I see almost everything, as I run around 85 - 90% on full GFX, but I can't exclude the possibility that there may be some who don't get the FX / view-distance.

Vauthil Station deals 68429 (68670) Plasma Damage to Centaur Class Frigate with Starbase Plasma Lance.
Pretty good. At least make it appear as plasma.
The dress is gold and white. Over 70% people says so. When viewed from a certain screen angle it appears blue and black. The dress displayed on amazon is a blue and black dress, but it's not the same dress in the picture. If you're seeing blue & black you're slightly colored blind. A normal upright screen = white and gold.

What cracks me up is when he says "Station defense relays offline, Massive energy spike detected, they are opening more rifts! .... etc. etc." and then usually at the same time you hear "firing station plasma lance in three, two, one..."
Errr...hang on...didn't you just say your defense relays are off line? :P lol

The Defense Relays are power relays that funnel energy into the station so they can effect repairs and bring their defenses online. Once the defenses are online they don't need to worry about the relays, cause they've already repaired all their systems.
The callout for the defense relays going offline is just a cue to the players really, "don't bother trying to beef up the station anymore"
KDF for Life! Romulan at Heart Fed cause they made me ~ :P
What bothers me is ... who thought it was a good idea for the station to randomly shove 25 ships onto the guy closing the rift or push the one thing you were fighting into 10 more that you were not.... that tractor push is a BAD idea.

I wonder how he manages to say two things at the same time. I suppose that's something Remans can do.
(and yes, the Defense Relays are those power generators you use to power up the station - you can't use them anymore in the final phase, not that you'd need to, there is barely a hostile ship around.)

Yeah - a little odd that; you'd think that the defense relays being offline would mean that they'd have nothing left to hit the enemy with. I suppose they could always just have a headache at them, or assault them with bad grammar.
Helm:"Captain! Incorrect grammatical syntax off the port bow"
Captain:"Wheres Commander Thesaurus when you need him!"
All valid points, but I'm baffled no one mentioned my original point: Why does he need to announce EVERY SINGLE SHOT, especially since the "lance" of his isn't all that impressive to begin with

Because it is COOL... The first time you play the mission anyways... or.. well... not really.

Because he likes the sound of his own voice?
I actually kinda like the lance countdown. It just sticks out so much because a) he doesn't say anything when firing other weapons, not even the magnometric overload and b) it often overlaps other voiceovers.

Probably the same genius that thought giving the annoying VO work to the chef, Ferengi salesman and epohh lady that never stop yelling and continuously repeating themselves in Q's WW was a good idea.
Speaking of which, it would seem the only defenses that function are the turrets, the B:FaW (occasionally) the lance and the sphere/pushback thingy. I never see torp barrages or these "fighter squadrons" being spoke about. Am I alone in this?
Hate the Magnometic whatever pulse (pushback thingy) because it constantly screws up my GravWells and TykRifts. I gather the range on that is the full 10k, like crystaline, so best to setup outside that diameter.
The Plasma Lance isn't plasma at all, we all know this. Would love to know what the bonus DoT on that 1 shot monster would be...
I have seen the fighters. On one pug I was in no player ship present had hangars and there were Scorpions flying around the station. Never saw a torp spread, but with the way the Mirror ships spew torps like missiles in Macross, could easily have missed them.
I've seen the lance completely kill the front shield on the front dread before. I've also seen it take at least 33% of the hull before on an unshielded front as well.

Or does that wave effect have no name/announcement? Just cooincide with the Lance? And if they occur together ,is it really a lance?
Questions Questions Questions.
