It's a full account unlock (try it.) :)

Why you asking? I logged onto STO from arc and I got swag. Skipping the "redeem" step shouldn't be seen as an issue.

What I and others are concerned about is that after the promotion ends, any character created afterwards won't get access to the Khan outfit. If that's the case then it isn't a full permanent account unlock like a c-store ship/uniform.

Some confirmation would be nice as to whether or not future character will have access to it after the promotion ends.

The redeem key step would make sense to have it unlocked to your account permanently. Currently we have to log into each and every character to gain access to it. It's not 1 of those deals where you buy it once or whatever and that's it. That is why I think it's more of a single character unlock.

hahaha. nope. but seriously though, this is a game played by kids as well as adult, the minimum age printed on the box is a rating for 12 years of age and above.

oh yeah, kids come out of the beach, from seeing people in swimsuit, and they see some npc in bikini and get they're psyche traumatised...

on this note, summer outfits were very disappointing .... but i guess my grandma would have been proud of such bold outfits that were given on summer event. >_>'

about the khan outfit, looks a very nice work, really would like to have it, but still won't install Arch.
... when Arch gets mandatory, I'll probably quit the game and by the looks, probably won't be the only one. :(

Installed, gave full permissions to the folder. Firewall and AV are set off and exe run as administrator.

Patching failing over and over again.

    Any suggestions?

Downloaded the Beta ARC & followed all instructions to the letter, logged into game AND no "new" FREE Khan uniform/outfit. Just the two 500 zen starfleet uniforms show up as choices at the Tailor shops. Oh well ...

It is off duty clothing not uniform. Go to a tailor, you need an empty costume slot, if not you will need to modify a saved one.

Click on head, then in top right you will see another tab, select off duty, on the head you can modify the hair, and also apply the scarf and visor should you want to.

Click on uniform, then on top tab select bare chest, in the tab below it should show the Khan tunic, then you are free to modify everything else.

We're pleased to announce that we are giving STO players who have downloaded and tested the beta version of the new Arc client a FREE exclusive Khan uniform set! Read more for details.

    ===UPDATE (1/28)===

Hi Captains, in order to claim this uniform on each of your characters, please sign into Arc and log into one character, and then while still in Arc, switch to your other characters so they too may unlock the uniform. This is a change in claiming instructions from what was posted yesterday and will ensure all characters on your account gain access to the uniform. We'll also be updating the blog with this info. Enjoy!

Does this mean no steps will be taken to honor the original account wide statement? What if I decide to make a new character a year from now and this promotion has ended. It originally stated account wide, I hope PWE doesn't drop the ball here and go back on their word and fixes this.

that same person i mentioned yesterday did give me access to their machine, there by by-passing the whole ARC which was the reason i wouldnt go for it.

    Err, no. No it won't.
Unless this promotion for free outfits never ends (doubtful, since it's said it's for the beta version of Arc), if I wait for my 300-day free character slot (so in about a month), this character will probably never be able to claim it.
And that's excluding all the characters I may create later, like those of a potential new faction.

Yes I knew/know it's off duty clothing (as per the instructions I followed) and I already tried what you kindly suggested but none off the clothing/uniform items are showing up for me.

Thank-you for your help though :)

I didn't have to open any folders; ArcRepair.exe ran automatically for me after I downloaded the Beta version from the Arc Client web page. And it installed successfully.

When I run ARC now, it says Beta next to the Arc icon/symbol in the upper left corner.

But still no new/Free clothing for my character, Off Duty or otherwise.

Thanks for your suggestion too though.

Once you're into Off-Duty stuff, select the Uniforms tab below. You'll be looking at your Off-Duty costume selection then; it usually defaults to a shirt so ugly even Wesley Crusher wouldn't wear it. The option you want for the Khan shirt is the bare-chest version, although you can wear a torn-up T-shirt underneath if you want.

    .

Alot of players are still thinking it is the Wrath of Khan FED uniform, sometimes a gentle reminder it is an off duty costume helps lol. The instructions I gave were the exact same steps I followed, so I really don't know what else to suggest. Hope you get to try it out though it is pretty cool looking

Does it sound like a bait and switch to you? I don't know if they intentionally tried to deceive the players with this promotion but it doesn't look good on PWE's behalf to go back on what they originally stated. I doubt it would be difficult to change the uniform to an account wide unlike, like the blog originally promised. Here's to hoping they make good on the original statement of the uniform being an account wide unlock.

If the costume is still at full price, you're probably looking at the TWoK uniform, not the Khan off-duty stuff, because to the best of my knowledge the Khan outfit isn't available in the C-Store.

Are you looking in your first costume slot, or your second? And have you checked in the Head tab for the uniform-type drop-down?

So that's where the Off Duty tab is.
What genius thought the Head was the most logical place for selecting the Uniform type?

Hathos, if you've only ever made the one outfit, it'll be your Duty uniform. However, you have a second slot, at least; that one can be set as your Off-Duty outfit, by a drop-down menu in the Head tab. (If you're in a Fleet, or have purchased more costume slots, there will be at least one more slot beyond that.)

For those having issues with Arc, here's what I did:

    1) Installed Arc.
    2) Logged into Arc
    3) One of my machines automatically detected my STO install (in default %ProgramFiles(x86)% location), the other did not. On that one I went through the add game menu and browsed to my installed location and selected the launcher exe.
    4) Just as a precaution, I launched STO through Arc (as originally stated).
    5) On the machine that automatically detected STO, it automatically logged me in the launcher (nice!). The other machine I manually logged in as usual.
    6) As soon as it started downloading a new 3GB+ patch, I cancelled it and closed the launcher.
    7) While still logged into Arc, I manually launched STO from my normal desktop shortcut.
    8) Logged in normally.
    9) Game did NOT patch, pressed "Engage".
    10) ???
    11) Profit! (Received email, confirmed off-duty outfit appeared).
    12) Switch to all chars while Arc loaded and got it on all of them.
    LTS Since Beta (Jan 2010).

Ah, just thank you for the outfit. I tested ARC and guess what...? I realized that arc is just another STEAM-clone and i don`t like it, i don`t need it, i don`t want it. So i deinstalled and scraped ARC.

Sorry, but instead of making a just-PWE-STEAM-clone, please put more priority to the story-part in STO and co. That is called CONTENT. That`s what player like, that`s what player need, that`s what player want.

And before you do step 13 of uninstall the spyware known as Arc, did you grab the other stuff that just needs to enter a code unlike STO? http://co.perfectworld.com/news/?p=1086251

Lol. The only other game of theirs I have played was Neverwinter, and yes I did. :D

    So I'll add this:
    13) Enter additional game codes for other games you play (if applicable).
    14) Uninstall Arc.
    LTS Since Beta (Jan 2010).
