Okay, time to Netflix up that episode. This is almost tailor-made for Captain Grunt... :)

Gonna have to sit this one out.

Still, an interesting choice, and I look forward to what everyone else comes up with. :D

It is rare that I write anymore, but this one inspired me. I whipped something up and posted it. :D

We can submit ideas for LC's? Time to think many things and see if they can become LC's!

Remember the "Mirror Borg" one? We as a community thought of that one up.

As for this, I've never written here, but I certainly want to now!

We should as a community think up an LC in which an Admiral Felczer has our characters writing stories as part of the plot.

The Tau Cygna V was 2365, Bran. :D

This looks fun, but I doubt I'll have time to write up my idea. I look forward to reading what everyone else comes up with though.

Hmmm. Definately the kind of situation Admiral Rykon deals with, so I guess we make a return to the Hailstorm. Now I just need to remind myself about this species and come up with something.

@themarie: certainly an interesting approach to the problem. I think Unblemished Pickle sounds like it is more likely to start a war, but it is in keeping with Starfleet's attitude in game.

Ahhhh. 'Tis good to be back. I've just spent three months not able to log in. Funny how it gets harder to make a good story when you start forgetting what your own characters look like.

Anyhow, with Captain Persico apparently lost somewhere in the Solanae Sphere, and Captain Sazev Bh'ypiv still working to find his chief engineer, I suppose it's time to take a closer look at a secondary character from a previous story.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Death in a Red and Green Overcoat, Admiral Karlyn Venas, commanding officer of the Ha'Feh Assault Warbird R.R.W Scythe.

    Enjoy.

There are two ways to look at it: Either the Federation read the situation right and this preemptive strike closed off another potential front in the War Without End, or they made matters worse by pissing off the smaller powers. I may explore that in a later story, should the chance arise.

Given the amount of ships and outposts they struck, I'm gonna vote Option 2. I look forward to seeing the fallout if you do continue.

I'm gonna take a shot at this.

My vote for the next one is a time-honored Trek tradition: a holodeck malfunction.

    Mine's up. Cast list:

    Admiral Rykon: Sam Neill
Captain Grylak: Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson
    Tehrr Movar: Martin Freeman

I don't feel this is my best work, but eh, it is what it is.

@drajora: Loved it! Now that's the Romulans I expect.

Mine is up. Captain Three catches the Sheliak red-handed in sneaky dealings and browbeats them into a better deal, using an antimatter bomb in her abdomen and a considerable amount of blackmail.

I tried to write the Sheliak well. Not sure how well I did.

I am really not sure how to characterize them, we have one episode with maybe 12 lines of dialog. That's what makes this fun. :)

The takeaway line I got from it, and the one that's going to form much of the basis for my story, is "The law is supreme." That's going to mesh interestingly with the 17th Rule of Acquisition: "A contract is a contract - but only between Ferengi."

Pretty sure I was the one who brought it up.

Received no credit for it, by the way.

Ah well, no matter. Cool that we can pitch LC's. We should make a thread for that.

Well that was fun to write. :D hehehe....

The Sheliak like to try to negotiate from a position of strength, thus they choose situations that they think will benefit them. they REALLY hate surprises.... :D I don't see them as sneak or underhanded, just devious.

I very nearly called a pass on this, before I realised that stance in itself could be used as a springboard...

For ease of reference/visualization, here're the actors I would cast if I was filming this tomorrow...

    Jac Cheliss - Timothy Dalton
    Ael t'Kazanak - Cobie Smulders

    I like. Very nice entry.

marcus, I know that you don't like Three's genre savvy, but what do you think of my entry? I trust your judgement quite a bit.

Well, I have a thought or two... The Sheliak, IIRC, were an obnoxious bunch, and sufficiently advanced that the Federation didn't want to tangle with them.

This calls for tact and diplomacy. What luck that one of Starfleet's most charming and persuasive diplomats happens to be available! */*description possibly not accurate---check validity of statement---verify---urgent*/*

(It will fit in somewhere in her extended patrol of Romulan space in my "Heresy" storyline, if anyone besides me is remotely worried about continuity.)

Oh, boy...Ronnie the time-traveling ex-Borg, versus a bunch of obnoxious Sheliak bureaucrats. I can't wait!

Thanks, I would have liked to have done more, but that would be going too far away from the LC brief, so kept it short

I really enjoyed your entry. After 'to business', Three was a bit too 'I'm a badass so you'll kiss my TRIBBLE and be grateful for the opportunity', but then settled into a nice bit of 'negotiation' Equally, there wasn't really anything genre savvy in this to break me out of the situation, just Three getting one over on the rock

Yeah, Three is kind of arrogant, especially when she does something that she thinks is cool. She's also literally sadistic, was designed to kill and intimidate, knows that she's OP compared to pretty much everything she faces, and is willing and able to pull stunts like implanting herself with an antimatter bomb and surgically realigning her indestructible subdermal plates.

The living anti-starship grenade. VERY useful when threatening an arrogant rock. :D

Your entry was very fun; is that going to turn into another full story?

I think used like this, she works perfectly as a character, and indeed, the ideal foil to such an opponent

I probably will write something about their investigation into S'rR's' disappearance and her return, but it probably won't be a long piece, as her the reality of her disappearance really is very anti-climactic, and she'll return once she's ready to :)

I keep planning to write a story where Three has to fight an arrogant Iconian called Supreme High Lord Inevitably-fated-for-greatness, who commands an "invincible space dreadnought" called the Inevitable wrath of the invincible sword of Supreme High Lord Inevitably-fated-for-greatness. Only thing is, in this story, Iconians are powerful telekinetics as well as over-the-top hammy posers, and Three gets her butt royally kicked. Until Trek-style awesome and MacGyver plans and an Indy Ploy save the day.

Sounds like a fun story...and I bet that S'rR's is having lots of fun with...well, whatever she's doing. I bet it's a she, but that's just my guess. :D

Well, they're egotistical jerks, yeah... But I don't see them as more advanced than the Federation.

    You're sure she's fighting Iconians, and not Ob'enn? ;)

Edit: Ooh, an even better example! :)
