perhaps, but i would like to know from someone like taco if something like these orion type clothing options are the way to the future for the game. if not and it remains tame, thats fine. if it gets more x-rated... well it either sells well and makes a lot of wet beds in the mornings or it becomes a novelty and wears out quickly (no pun intended).
Please my good man. We are not trying to be Scarlet Blade.
Really, what would be fun would be *appropriate* clothing, and *variety* of clothing. Yes, there's always going to be a subset of players who will then provide a group of Starfleet admirals who report to Earth Space Dock in a bikini or tight swimming trunks (but, I'm guessing, more in the former than the latter) Which is a little silly, but hardly harmful to anyone. Skimpy clothes on Risa, or indeed Nimbus, would make perfect sense though. The flip side would be that some longer skirt options would be nice- especially on the formal outfit, but also for dress uniforms etc- my Romulan admiral would like to wear formal regalia with skirt options not limited to either that raggedy civilian thing, or the glittery micro-skirt, for instance.
Someone said that the show is trek, i.e. includes as canon William Ware-Theiss (whose name I may be misspelling, it's late and my brain's tired)'s designs, rather than "a Victorian fashion show". Well, why not have a broad church. Personally, I'd absolutely love a velvet high-collared jacket with puffed sleeves and a floor length skirt with a slit for mobility so I can fight in it. There's no reason such a costume would be anathema to the Trek aesthetic- not that I'm campaigning *for* it in this thread, just making a point.
However, I wouldn't want to go with that all the time, and I'm perfectly happy with a world where both that, and Admiral Bikini Bridge Bunny exist simultaneously.
Other than band aids and some string, how much skimpier can they get?
Oh ye of little imagination ... lots of garment left to cut!
"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censored, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."
I sense a lot of anger here. The puritan streak is still strong over in America and with it comes a lot of double standards and hypocrisy. How about skimpy wear for all toons and all genders. We good then?

I think that the Bajoran Vedek outfit from the DS9 pack is pretty close to that. Maybe not exactly, but close.

And there needs to be a muscle emphasis slider for all toons. My Fed girl is supposed to look like a 6-8 female version of Ahnuld-as-Terminator, and I think that a lot of female players want sexy Vulcan toons with cut abs in Speedos.
I honestly get tired of hearing the nonsense and insults about lonely perverts just wanting naked pixels to ogle.
In todays internet age where there is an abundance of free internet pornography, do you honestly think people are going to pay money just to play a game and buy "skimpy" pixel costumes for the sole purpose of getting aroused?
I think not.
Some of us actually have an appreciation and admiration for the human body, as well as an appreciation and eye for fashion, be it male or female.
In all my years playing STO since Beta I have never once seen or heard anyone pretending to do "naughty" things around ESD/Qo'nos etc.
And as someone who plays an orion female frequently I have been complimented on the apperance of my orion, but never have i recieved any kind of lewd or inappropriate comments.

That is all the female toons should be allowed to wear !
Of course it is pixel TRIBBLE, the MAN who controls the female char gets a nice view, not only that he gets to ogle a female figure half naked having god knows what fantasies about the toon. Safe in the knowledge that when his girlfriend/mom/whoever walks by he wont be put in an embarrassing situation while looking at TRIBBLE !
New KDF costume: Birthday suit - Only 1000 zen! *Ka-ching*
"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censored, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."
Oy. I said we are not trying to be Scarlet Blade here. :P
Think about it! This option alone would fund the KDF indefinitely. KDF birthday suit packs would sell like hot cake (get it ) and our faction would never be ignored ... again! There is always the PG13 filter for all those innocent 6 year olds who don't watch TV. :P
No need to thank me everyone. *bows*

As much as "Star Trek TRIBBLE" would sell, even I think the line needs to be drawn somewhere. :P

KDF Birthday Suits are not what you think they are. They are training suits designed to increase combat skills by enraging all the guests. So it is white frilly clothing. At the end, either the guests are defeated or the person that has their birthday party. Every Klingon fears when their birthday occurs, but it is a sign of great honor to not be knocked unconscious during one's birthday. Betazoid wedding clothing is what you are looking for.
Oh I'm not making this a personal thing. I'm simply stating my views on this thread which is what the forum is for.
Oh my god are you serious.
You say you aren't making this a personal thing then proceed to make it personal by backing it with nothing but subjective morality and opinions.
Okay let's try role reversal. I'm going to take something you might want more of - cats, let's say - and present an argument very similar to yours against it.
We should have another cat race in this game. Everyone loves cats, so let's give the Romulans one.
How about no. Furries make me uncomfortable. Besides, it's weird that you want to be a cat. And I know people will just do questionable things with them in-game.
(Coincidentally this is the same kind of ludicrous argument that came up when Caitians were added to the game, IIRC...)

Don't argue with moral panickers. It's like playing chess with a pigeon.

And the stereotyping begins. For the record, I am not one of them. Yes, people do questionable things with them in-game. Those are the kinds of people who give anyone playing some kind of animal race a bad name.

This is just so way blown out of proportion.
Sure you haven't but I have, was trying to join this KDF rp guild a year or so back...I had my Orion in a KDF uniform...basically expected me to dress in a Orion outfit and only worse from there...just because it didn't happen to you doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
Other than the mirror universe how many canon Starfleet uniforms have a low cut top? How much skin does a Klingon female show besides her cleavage mostly? After the first couple of seasons of TNG how often did you see females in Starfleet uniforms in anything but pants?
Sure it may be canon that women did appear more scantily clad...but how often did you see that in uniforms not of the mirror universe? That's right never...Scarlet Blade and Tera are that-a-way
>
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power
I don't want more skimpy outfits--for women, that is. Us guys need some skin parity! And a muscle slider, so that we can have actual abs and 'ceps instead of just looking pudgy.
My Fed girl needs a muscle slider, too. She's supposed to look like the Terminator with long hair and TRIBBLE, but as-is she's WAY too lanky.
I also want some revised KDF uniforms that look Klingon--sleek, feral, predatory. Unless you mix and match VERY carefully, our current options look like Lego blocks stuck to us.
And, in fairness, some Duras Sisters-style outfits would be good. Because Klingon women look hot while kicking your TRIBBLE.
I just unlocked the Klingon honour guard armour Mk xii for my female Orion and I found it was lacking the clevage hole. Ive seen it on NPCs wearing the honour guard uniform so I thought it would be for players as well? Or do I need to get all three pieces and use the tailor to get clevage?
Ultimately it isn't massively important as the armour is awsome as it is. I just wanted a bit of skin so people can see I have an Orion.
Am I the only one who doesn't give a hoot either way about "skimpy clothing"? Seriously, it's just pixels, it's not real any more than a comic strip. If somebody wants to get their jollies from watching a cartoon image in a bikini, well that's their choice. I find both the debate for and the debate against equally amusing. But then I chuckle at a certain series of games with a liking for purple, and how you can create male characters wearing distinctly female clothing, it just looks so funny. So sure, add more skimpy outfits for females, whilst your at it add federation themed and KDF themed mankinis so I can laugh my rear end of at the silly players who put their characters in them.
Me, I chose to dress my captain and crew in a more uniform fashion that fits better with the whole crew of a quasi military organisation. That's just my choice. But then, I wouldn't roll and play a female character either as I get nothing at all from looking at cartoon images of women, I prefer the real thing thanks. But then, I'm married with 4 kids... lol
I will say though, please, no soccer strips or other completely stupid "Fashions" as you see in a lot of oriental MMOs.... I do not want to run into the crew of the USS "ManURock" thanks....

I'm glad we understand each other.
P.S. Taco works on environments, not costumes.
someone like taco, mentioned.
Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
You want JoeJing then.
R.I.P
We aren't asking for more skimpy, just more flavors of skimpy. :P
3 bit of masking tape, 3 small bog roll sheets. or 2 bits of masking tape and a large kitchen roll sheet.
you really want it that skimpy?
