What the heck is wrong with this game?????

What the heck is wrong with this game???
Loads of crashes and bugs,now the patching has stopped halfway through.
I like many others pay alot of real money into this game,and i don't expect disasters like this.
It always seems to happen everytime theres a new season.

    Were you on tribble testing? Did you have the same issues? Did you report them?

    No? Then how should they know that your rig-setup would have these kinds of problems?

    The game runs flawlessly on my rig... Havn't had a crash since season 6 (that I didn cause myself), and the bugs i run into are generally non-game-breaking.
    Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
    Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

    ticket number is 27303741. time 11.18am uk time. date. 13th nov 13.
    Despite latest patch,the game is still crashing. What the heck is going on at cryptic??????

    you are perhaps one of the lucky few then.
    The game on my rig-setup as you put it,was running fine before season 8. As for reporting problems etc,if there are any,i always do report them.

    It runs flawless as well on both my 1 year and 5 year old laptop (both samsung's). You might add your specs in this thread.

    Have you checked your error logs inside the STO game directory?

    game was running fine before season 8 started.
    My laptop is running fine. has loads of space on it. RAM is 4. speed is ok.
    Its a faulty game thats the problem. This was the same when season 7 started,so i am no stranger to that. I know i am not the only one with these problems,there have been others too.

    Oh, that looks funny.. What is your ISP? Have you tried to download the latest loader?

    It seems your loader is unable to connect to the launcher (404), did you launch it with administrator rights?

    heck i cant stay on for no longer then 20-30 seconds before i get disconnected from the server :mad:. i just played earlier with no issues, i get on now and all i get is disconnected within those seconds. like what the %TRIBBLE#!!!!! and i was thinking of buying a ship today, what for??? for i can lead to this....:cool:

    Have you tried to use default graph settings? (nvidia/ati graph console option).

    What kind of specs does your rig have, have you ever updated your drivers?

    Get off your high horse.

    People reported lots of bugs weeks if not months ago on Tribble and they were not fixed at all before release. Nothing I reported got fixed and I heard and read here the same from other testers.

    The idea that people have to participate in testing to get something that isn't bugged to hell is already off, but it gets even worse when you see that testing and reporting bugs doesn't change this at all.

    Stuart, im right there with ya mate. Ever since LOR actually, my client crashes every couple of hours or so. It never once did that pre-lor, and its almost a guarantee whenever i go to the command center or adventure zone on new romulus.

    The sheer number of crashes made me think i changed something, and i checked everything in my system specs. Nada.

    It is always the same error too, out of video memory because the client tried to call a ginormous texture

    The irony of the error, is that it calls out of video memory while also listing having more than 20 times the amount of memory the texture it called it for needed.

    Something is memory leaking badly in the games graphics. Remember we had that graphics update with the release of LOR? I have a feeling that is the ultimate culprit for a lot of people.

    Also ever since yesterday I have started experiencing a "white out" sort of phenomenon where everything starts glowing white with no other graphical rendering on it, and the icons for the items in my inventory, even my character clothing disappears.

    I'm having a few hiccups. Doing a mission going to go in and the game crashes on me. Though it's no more than what is happening with WoT. So I'm not having a big of an issue with it.

    Really? Well, I know for a fact that at least some of the bug that I've found on tribble and reported DID get fixed. Sooo....

    I'm not sure what Rylan's problem is, but I have noticed that going to those areas causes my cpu temp to rise for some reason... No crashes, unless the temp gets too high.

    I'm not sure what Rylan's problem is, but I have noticed that going to those areas causes my cpu temp to rise for some reason... No crashes, unless the temp gets too high.

    I have a bad feeling that in order to get more detail into the graphics with that change a few months back, the developers made the massive mistake of using huge image files and "shrinking" them to size in the render.

    Imagine a logo on the side of your ship actually being a jpeg 10MB in size because its actually like 30,000 pixels square. (bad quick math, probably wrong numbers but im trying to convey what i mean)

    its a big no no in graphic design, but budgets can cause it to crop up

    it would both explain the heavy overheating and increased memory useage, as well as the sheer volume of load on your machine in general if your client is having to render a humungous texture or image to fit a small thing, multiply as needed for how many times X appears.

    Well, you've got a point there. When I'm not online I have the gameclient open for whenever I like to logon. Even the planet rotating causes my laptop's temp to heat up :rolleyes:. Wasn't there until couple of months ago.

    Have you read Taco's explanation of how Mip Maps work? If a Mip Map(or several) got inverted it might cause this issue.

    It was working great the night before patch, i did download the tribble just to find out i couldn't get in, and from what i'm understanding is that a bunch of players in tribble were having the same problem but the bug just got dropped into the Holodeck without being resolved.

    Please use command prompt and do a tracert to the login server please. or just tracert and ping to 208.95.185.44

    then run dxdiag and post the results on here. I will be able to help and determin the cause.

    The good majority of people are able to get on. Even with mediocre rig. So it is more than likely something local to you.

    so if you do the tracert and ping tests and post the dxdiag it will help more than you just opening a ticket with no information.
