Federation Battle Cruiser?

I don't have a pic, although I'm sure someone else could get one and post it, but on the defiant and gal-x cloaking device on tribble it states it's good for the defiant/feet defiant/dreadnaught (gal-x)/battle cruiser/fleet battle cruiser.

What gets me is the federation does not have a battle cruiser and whatever it is, it has a cloaking device.


so...speculations?

New ship?

Typo?

    Remember Geko's Andorian Battle Cruiser? Side-mounted weapons? Sure, why not give it a cloak too!

    Maybe they're finally adding the Constellation class.

    And making it a battle cruiser, because reasons.

    Like I said on another thread, they want to replicate the financial success the Scimitar was, a sleek fed battlecruiser with scimitar stats (but with less gimmicks hopefully) would sell like crazy.

    The one sticking point is the cloak is the same one that the defiant and Galaxy-X use, so therefore its kinda pointless to most. Maybe they'll upgrade it to a battlecloak before this new cashcow gets released?

    huh. maybe the kdf are getting their cloak removed, and having it turned into a console. because kdf ships with a normal cloak needed nerfing. clearly. ya, they are like... op and stuff. too op. the need to basically lose a console because they are op.

    If this game was any realistic, considering Rommies are starving in New Romulus yet they have resources to build Scimitars, the Federation Flagship Ody woudnt be a cute brick but a powerful warship with 8 DHC in each broadside with two or three event horizon cores and elite fleet ultra federation battle cloack. Bortas'qu would have 34 DHC instead and would turn 30 and would have a 100km aoe decloacker with disable and they would be in constant war around NR to see who tags the epohhs.

    So noes at all.

    Battle Cruiser. Sound the Assault Cruisers' love child with the Dreadnaught.

    We'll see. Personally i'm very pro-faction specific ships these days. The sight of so many stolen ships from other races in the queues annoys me. Bring me some feddy/klink/rommie PVP worthy ships!

    But we'll probably see the USS Vengance, with a crew compliment made of super genetic khan boffs, that will make rom boffs a joke.

    Only rom captains will be able to fly it.

    KDF will get a poo.

    Personally I thought the Miranda class should get a T5 version (the T'Varo has...) and it would get DHC mounts so it could be the federation answer to the Vor'cha battle-cruiser KDF side...

    Well thought romulans were already genetically improved to be far superior, I can't think in any other reason cryptic would purpose such a far superior master race like rommies among the bunch of inferior federation species...

    according to Atrox, Kar'fi, and vet ships consoles or fighters, fleet versions of these ships are on the way, in addition to this battle cruiser.

    if anyone can think of any other fighters or items to check, to look for new ship hints, start checking!

    Ooh, Fleet Kar'fi. That'll make things interesting, especially if it becomes more competitive with the JHEC while retaining its sci-heavy layout. Maybe a universal ensign boffstation.

    And a Fleet Atrox ought to give the Feddies a bone, though they'll probably still demand an uber-Galaxy.

    A fed Battle Cruiser? Guess the "Why do you hate the Galaxy?" thread may be getting a resolution.
    That kinda scares me from a balance view since that thread waxes and waned fairly out balance on more than one occassion.
    Also, did anyone notice the bonus defense of the tribble console is half again higher than the defense stat listed on STOwiki?

    Well, maybe they finally got the Dreadnaught saucer sep to work and liked the saucerless Dread so much they decided to make it a ship of its own? :D

    I don't think so the Typhoon is a battleship in STO and not a battlecruiser, I just hope this will not make the other tactical cruisers like Sovereign and Excelsior useless.

    My hope that is a new version of the Galaxy class and or that this introduces Heavy Phasers for cruisers.

    I simply fear instead of fixing the problem FED cruisers have they just made a new cruiser that can load cannons, and turns as good as a Vor'cha.

    Galaxy retro-retrofit is very welcome if it happens. I am not sure it is though. The Feds do need a badass fast and maneuverable heavy warship. It is an arms race with OP Roms and Feds and Klinks need some love.

    From what ive seen thus far with how ships are made in this game...

    10 weapon mounts fore, 1 aft turret slot, turn rate of 3, comm engie, ltcomm sci, lt eng, lt sci, ensign tac

    5 engy, 4 sci, 1 tac console

    Edit to add: C-Store 2500 Zen purchase, comes with universal console WTFPWN launcher deluxe 2.0 no one would ever use on this ship, but will be able to install in some escort for over 9000 results.

    I had to lol.


    I'm sure the console will kill everything on the map, but it takes 5 mins to charge and your shields go down while charging, thus making it only useful to troll in kerrat by hiding behind the cracked plant lol


    On topic: I'm excited that there's new fleet ships. I hope there's a fleet guramba, and I really hope there's (a) new KDF ship(s). What drive's most all pve and a lot (for some) of pvp is new shinys, and the KDF is just looking dull and old compared to the feds and roms.
