If by no shielding you mean highest shields on an escort in the game and room for more field gens than any as well.
The truth is, these ships are powerful and fun. Look great, and they should all be the same because they all come out of the same box. Love it.

As I've said, there are canon temporal shields, engines, deflectors and even a Temporal Core in place of warp or singularity power. I think a Temporal cruiser would be nice. I'd love weapons tied to the 29th century, a Vorgon BOff, Krenim weapons, etc.
And when and if they do that, I think it may be worth looking at features like a Timeship mounted cloaking device and other new goodies with new perks and new costs associated with them.
I'm not disappointed with what they're doing right now. I just think there's room for more down the line.
I suspect this was a pretty successful lockbox for them on the whole and there's room for more material.
I'd also like to see the Wells ground weapons in an offensive configuration, probably with the disruptor disintegration proc on a phaser weapon, given the ones in the shows seemed to emphasize range and disintegration abilities. My preference would be for the pistol to function like a phaser rifle with accx2 and a disruptor disintegration proc (ie. functionality would be a rifle that just looks like a pistol) and the rifle to function as a longer range sniper rifle, tuned for longer distance sniping.
That doesn't mean the current ones have to go away or are bad. But I think they can be expanded.
