The game engine does not allow this to occur my friend.

I have a bad habit of scrambling my target then firing off an ISO. It's killed a couple team mates and myself once.

    Good times.

I remember when it first came out people asked if it was supposed to do that and cryptics "it's working as intended" ruled the day.

Same with old combo- cpb and shockwaves, I rename we stripping both teams and stunning everyone quite a few time back in the day. Lol

Say the team use's 3 at a time, one shockwave knocks out 3, 4 minute abilities. It is cheese if you don't have a shockwave.
    1. Don't cast every TIF at once
    2. Stay outside of PSW range. Not hard when you're moving twice as fast as your opponent.
    3. Run immunity skills like A2ID and Omega when you put TIF up.
    4. Or just simply wait until just AFTER you are shockwaved so you are immune anyway. Duh.

You guys are still seriously going on about this? Speak to Cryptic, it's their responsibility to balance their game. As long as there is abilities to be used they will be used, pugmade or premade; simple as. So with all do respect do the QQing to Cryptic not the players ;)

PVP is stuffed for now, until such time an update is applied.

There's a difference between fighting good PvPers (which these guys are, no doubt) and fighting poor design choices.

It's hard to tell if another team is good or not when all they do is stack layer on top of layer of clearly problematic, broken and poorly balanced consoles/items.

It's not like no one else can do this, most of us have just decided not to so that PvP doesn't devolve into a game of console wars.

Too late. It already has, as a certain fleet has proven from time to time. And to be frank thats how the games future is headed, because people who dont do the same will lose and lose. And when people lose, they take measures to even the score with the same TRIBBLE.

Some fleets will, some fleets won't. :)

I think the first two no BS were a really great success personally, a wide variety of fleets came out and played under a short list of rules to keep the game from being "console wars".

I didn't get to participate in the second, and even though my team lost in the first tourney it was probably some of the most fun I've had PvPing in STO.

So it is possible, and the players themselves have the power to do what Cryptic either refuses or simply are unable to do themselves. ;)

I wasn't in the fight, but from what I hear from the 15-8 match the winning team had four or five copies of TIF and GPG, while the losing team abstained from using them. Do you really think the results would be even close to the same in an even match?

To be honest, I don't run into Premades as often as just other PUGs...the spammage of such things from PUGs is pretty much that. Unlike the Premades which will systematically use it to kill their foes...the PUG folks without their communication will just spam it all at the same time...

...sure, this in turn does make it easier to take them out as long as folks on your own PUG clue in to the fact the other team is doing that. Often though, meh...the match ends pretty fast because they don't get it.

    you're wrong there...we're using 6 tifs...

i have 2 Tifs equipped on my cheese boat....it increases my power level from noob to awesome:D

i gotta say the pvp'ers ability to clear stuff these days is on a new all time low...

"omg someone used AMS" <--- use Sci team

"omg they're using 6 tifs" <--- super easy to counter if you know how :P (i won't tell you lol)

i'm used to getting scrambled for like 90% of a match...like over 1 year ago scramble 3 was the flavor of the year and everyone was using it(was still easy to counter)
and ye...AMS is a joke compared to scramble 3 back then

if you QQ so hard about GPG or AMS...then you better QQ about ISOMETRIC CHARGE as well.......can one shot entire teams...but ye i guess it's no cheese at all since you guys are using it:confused:

    I know you're being sarcastic here...but it's actually true.

Buffs/ heals applied to pets & destructibles sometimes *known, team is investigating*
    http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=748341

Since LoR, there's an issue with buff/heals being applied to other than the intended target.

I grabbed the two 3x Arena yesterday, and completed two - because by the end of the second, I was done again. I needed an Excedrin. Two memorable things took place...

    In the first:
Scrambled...dropped target...ST...the enemy Danube said thanks.

    In the second:
    F2...AtS...healed one of his fighters.
    F2...HE...healed somebody's mine.
    He popped.

They weren't the only times that buffs/heals went to the wrong target, but they stood out more than the usual EPS or heal being used on a torp...meh.

It's another of the issues that was brought up during the LoR beta that made it to live.

iso is cheese. But compared that to using TIF, speced GP, AMS, tholian mines, pets to track cloaked ships, and cloaking mines all at once.....

People who behave like this are why my PvP participation is pretty low at the moment. They are boringly one-dimensional to play with, and offer no depth to their strategies besides using the same old broken stuff, and crowing about it and how supposedly easy it is to counter their stuff. Sure, I could run the same stuff on a regular basis....but it's no fun.

The only ability we really used to counter your hit and run strategy was subnuke. Stop your attempt to run away after a strike, then hold and kill. It was a good idea, but we adapted and countered. Spam or cheese or whatever was hardly an issue. MT far out performed you in the hit and run. That is a practice issue. :)

The problem with countering is that pvp has devolved in to escorts online. People aren't geared up with ships built to counter sci anymore, since sci was hit so hard with the nerf bat. But the minute you bring a heavy sci team back into the fold, the QQ starts flowing. The current pvp crowd who believe they are the gods of pvp never understood the might of the sci. Put simply, we brought sexy back.

I main science, actually, and that's not the problem. The problem is universal consoles and set bonuses that anyone (not only science) can mount. Theta? TIF? Grav Pulse? TB mines? Dispersal Nukara mines? They're all stuff that anyone can mount. Not many are going to criticize a premade vs premade with plenty of science. It's just common sense. But adding these poorly-balanced things on and rolling the queues? Not nice at all.

High end pvp never abandoned heavy sci setup. Sexy never left. We did got hit hard with nerf bat, but those sci shield stripping skills were way overpowered. Luckily sci got some really nice ships with great boff layouts. Beside, all of the abilities, that people are complaining, are not sci abilities, except sensor scramble.
