The single most horrible thing about this ship is the inertia is set to 20. This ship by design needs an inertia of 30, there is just no way around that and they gimped this ship with that 20 inertia. I know guys are gonna say "oh but bortasqu and ody have 20 inertia" yes, but these are non canon ships, and have no canon guidelines to follow.
This ship with it's current 20 inertia is just unnecessarily gimped, and this needs to be fixed by bumping it to 30 inertia where it should be.
I'm using 2 RCS consoles instead of neutroniums, I don't currently use EPtS, and I pretty much have aggro on anything I shoot at. Despite all of that, I haven't noticed a difference in elite STF survivability besides the usual power problems(which is slightly offset by smart use of Quantum Absorption).
If people are having problems, I suggest not using any of its universal consoles.
They said sign up and test the scimitar, we all did. Not 1 bit of info on feed back was posted, no one said they got the invite to test it.
Actually they never said sign up and test it, they announced they would be picking volunteers from the tribble community that have given valuable feedback and bug testing in the past. I know a ton of people started shouting "pick me pick me" in that thread but it did not mean that was how they were picking testers for the ship.
Unfortunately this also means the pool of testers was small and there was bound to be bugs that got through due to that smaller pool of experience. Some of the bugs seem pretty major to have slipped through though (crew loss being that high is odd considering its a warship / dreadnought and should have a better crew loss resistance due to being made for war).
I can go do the rom patrol. Go in ship is fine. Finish that one, go into same thing again. *wham* warpcore breach for 40k+. Aight fine fluke. Go into KA Elite. Do fine. Repeat it after timer, *wham* 76,000 dmg reg torpedo off the bat with full health and shields + tac team running.
And im talking about staying on the movie not sitting duck guys. And its not just fluke random borg 1 shots from HYT. Its happening way way more often with the scimitar then with my fleet assault cruiser for it to be that.
Stats seem to be fluctuating wildly, turnrate when coming out of cloak is one. Our resistances is another. While i understand wanting to make the inertia this high because its such a huge ship, boils down to gameplay. Oddy has no issue with it cause it mounts all beams and single cannons. Bort has the tankablity to damn near sit still and use its DHC.
The scimitar doesnt. Im able to use DHC quite well on it, but the power sliding is a touch to high for a ship with this design.
Been playing since beta, im not a massive fan of this ship, nor do i want some OP IWin button. Id have left this kind of feedback if i could have tested it weither i bought the ship or not. At current there is just a lot of stuff out of whack on it that needs fixing.
I have to admit that my He'Feh with the same weapons and consoles tanks better then the Scimitar. I am hoping that is a bug because I switched back to my glorious Ha'Fah and am again melting faces.
I've been flying my scimitar since it was released yesterday in various missions and elite stfs and I haven't noticed any of these bugs. So far everything is working just fine for me and I can only recall dying once since I've had the ship.
Rofl, didn't the Enterprise A have the same problems at the end of Star Trek IV? Scotty was real upset in V about the monkeys that assembled it. I guess the same engineering firm that built the A built some of these Scimitars. I suggest a class action lawsuit for the defective craftsmanship and loss of lives these quality control failures have caused. Such waste. The death toll must be unimaginable. So many poor Romulans losing their lives because someone didn't want to pay for premium force-field generators, good Singularity core containment, and better inertial dampeners. This is the gorram Event Horizon all over again!
Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. That- that's about it. - Bubba
I honestly thought it was just me having issues with the Scimitar. It seemed as though my shields were entirely worthless and that they wouldn't regenerate at all without me using my various shield heals. It's nice to know that I'm not the only person having these issues.

Exactly. There is something essentially wrong.
Even with shields fixed the Scimitar is nowhere near OP. If you stay a sitting duck, you are dead. The Thalaron Pulse feels massive but come on...you have all the time to get out of that 90? Arc...It is just like seeing a hammer falling down from the Empire State Building and staying looking at it dumb until it hits your head and complaining about the headache...
Full Jem'Hadar Mk XI set with 6 points on Starship Hull Plating , 6 points on Starship Armor Reinforcements , 9 Points on Starship Maneuvers + Elusive trait and a Mk XI Rare Neutronium Alloy Armor. Recently fought a single Sphere in Khitomer Vortex (Elite) wile traveling at full speed and in a short period of time the hull went from 100% to below 75% with the shields remaining strong and no Plasma Fire. The Scimitars hull seems to take more damage then normal.
I dislike how the Scimitar slides so much when moving at high speeds it needs to be reduced.
I've been PvPing with the ship. At first I thought the ship wasn't much chop. After tinkering with it I've realised that you need to build around the ship's nature for it to be good. When you do, it's VERY good!!
You have to realise that shields will not regen under cloak. Nor should they. That would be GROSSLY unfair. Tac team does not work when cloaked, again GROSSLY unfair if it did.
The slide? Well, it's one f the largest ships in the game and it can be pushed to turn far better than its peers. To not have it slide would make it OP. So work with it. Use the slides instead of fighting them. As someone said earlier in this post, with the slide at least you're able to keep distance between you and your targets so you don't fly in to them when attacking front on.
It has quirks, I'll give it that, but the quirks give the ship balance. It's already the strongest non-escort the Romulans have. Accept that the quirks people have identified prevent it from being the total dominator it would otherwise be.
It's pretty clear the Scimitar is not ready for prime time, not even the Kumari has never been this fragile, for a dreadnought that's just absurd. Something is badly broken, and I'm worried the devs don't believe us because they think we're complaining it isn't a giant win button.
Look, my shields dont regen sometimes, and never have i been talking about it while cloaked. Obviously shields wont regen while cloaked. In rom patrol there isnt enough reason for me to cloak and uncloak every 13 sec. Same goes for RSP and TT1.
And while it maybe the biggest ship and inertia rating is fitting, its a gameplay issue. No ship should be power sliding from its regular impulse speed just jacks it all up. Im used to big ships, jem dread, cruisers of all kinds, carriers of all kinds. This is above all those.
And my resists continue to go squirly as sh*t. I was just in KA elite, 73k reg torp from denatra when i was behind her. With full shields and full health, with TT1, EPTS, HE2, ASIF2, RSP and TSS1 all going at same time.....
If i know im the main target cover my a$$, been here since beta, this isnt normal. This is how the andorian ship felt, i hadnt died so much in years till that ship came out, this is close to on par with that.
I go into cure, my shields/resists work fine, i take little dmg and move along as normal. I go into KA Elite shields go to paper resists go off the deep end and i get 1 shotted left and right. Go into infected and the stuff works again i tank tac cube no problem.
Its like a shell game atm, is the normal scimitar under this cup or is it the broken one? *randomly changes the 3 cups* One way to find out?! Trust me i know my ships and builds, im a tester for a lot of stuff and longtime vet, im not only one having these issues. Something is broked. My fleet Mogai and D'deridex dont take 1/2 the dmg this thing does in 1 hit.
Add me to the list having issues, flying the Falchion
In PvE missions it stomps faces, but in STFs im getting rolled like no ones business. I notices on Last Stand however that my crew was 2/4 dead after 30 seconds of combat in which my shields did not drop. In STFs im dying a lot and my livign crew stays around 400/3000. I have to spam engineering and sci powers, including miracle worker, to not die on STF missions my run of the Mill Sovereign laughs at and my Vo'guv barely even breaks a sweat on. And this isn't Elite mind you, this is normal mode, I did 1 elite and the ship was dying a lot while escorts were parked firing and taking more damage than I.
also not sure if its related but severa, times my shield tooltip shows I/II level stats (a shield that showed me 5.5k capacity and 254 re-gen on Qu'nos was instead showing in mission as 1,786 cap/ 60.4 regen. Equipped and unequipped, same stats.
Also did a practice pvp run with a friend, she killed me pretty quick with the same gear the first time then by abusig the secondary shield console I managed to basically fight her to a stalemate.
In the T5 warbird i barely have to use engie and sci shield buffs and they are always up when I need them, on the Falchion they are constantly on cd
There are several issues going on here and not all of them are the Scimi's fault.. We know that the gateways and tac cubes have been pegging people at 17 kilometers range. We know the gates and th tac cubes have been one shotting everyone and in the last few days, a few spheres have done the same. And we know about the Tac cubes wonderful invisible torpedo that can one shot you without you ever knowing it was there. over all though, for something thats supposed to have 40K in hulls, its awfully squishy.. I dont mind the sliding so much. Its a bit more realistic than if the thing maneuvered like an F-16.. this is space after all.. and the inertia is also realistic since in space theres nothing to push against to gain momentum. But for a ship that with everything added over from all my rommie ships as well as the three consoles from the scimi three pack: an 8790 Shields rating and 53K hull, this thing dies exceptionally fast and frequently. Not to mention my dps has dropped by 2K and i'm using the exact same equipment throughout except the three scimi consoles. my suspicion is that its somewhere in the power distribution system, but frankly i dont know enough to even make that wild guess with any authority.. I love this ship, but theres definitely a problem..
I kid, but this does kinda steer me away from wanting one.

In my quest to destroy Scimitars i came across the Scimitar of Doom in a PvP match - it was indestructable - no matter what was thrown at it- hull never dropped below 50% in 15 min of solid attack by up to 5 attackers.
Tac captain - tac version - it made a Borg tactical cube is ESTF look like a T1 Miranda
It was unbeatable - and awesome. I tip my hat to that player - we through everything in the game at it - no dice.

You sir are "the man"
You are tipping your hat to a simple cheater.
It is well known, that you can cheat in this game. Spanish Inquisition is a fleet known for their "double shields" cheating, they are also known for a cheat where a tactical captain has access to miracle worker. Also the Sad Panda fleet is know for cheating, they used a special cheat, which reacts to symbols on the screen. So when you fire up your alphas, the PC detects the symbols on your screen and immedately you get a subnuke thrown in.
So, please do me a favour, buy this ship, test it out by yourself and then you will realize, that it is first hand bugged, and second hand you guys were fooled by a simple cheater.

First off - no name calling or flaming
Second he was none of the fleets you mentioned.
Third - none of the cheating claimed by you has been proven 100% to the best of my knowledge.
My experience has been with a wide variety of types of enemies, in PvE story missions, the Falchion stomps alnnost everything when I am solo. In basic STFs its a constant battle as an engineer captain to keep the ship alive. My tac officer, running the same STFs in a T5 Sovie can easily solo the falchion guards on the Nebula Rescue while a partner frees the ship. the Vo'guv engie captain with 4 purple BoPs can solo cap, clear or defend any point in any STF and sleep through it. This is so far a list of issues and weirdness ive noted.
My Falchion is constantrly low on crew, low on shield, low on hull. hits appear to bypass the shields all together in some instances and do pure hull damage. I say appears because I have no evidence to back it up unless I get a friend to help me in pvp run some test, but this is my gut feeling. Last Stand romulan mission 3 waves of elachi, within 30 seconds my crew was cut over half while I had full shields up, so either the elachi boarding parties are all elite veteran commandos who can kill 2600 romulans with their 15 man squad, or hits are calculating wrong and doing way more damage than they should. My crew is almost always mostly dead or incapacitated from moments into the battle.
As I said it almost appears as if some shots bypass the shield directly and hit the hull for the amount of hull damage ive had to heal, I hit Miracle Worker and ET so many times in on STF its probably doubled the amount of times ive had to hit it on my carrier captain in the last 6 months.
I am open to the idea that maybe I just haven't figured the ship out yet, but it feels like im flying a giant t2 BoP for all its survivability. But the fact so many people are experiencing the same feeling makes me think something isnt working right. As I stated in the last post, the tooltip on the shield at times show the stats of a t1-t2 regenerative shield. I have taken it out of the ship to compare the base stats, put in the ship, put it in my shuttle, stats stay the same in some missions, Could be a tooltip error maybe, or could be something else. The same shield when standing on Qo'nos or New Romulus shows over 5k cap and almost 300 regen.
In PvP against a Ha'apax warbird with identical equipment (we have been gearing up together so what I had on mine she has on hers and mine all transferred over. We spent 20 minutes slugging it out, she managed to kill me quick the first time because I wasn't paying any more attention to the shileds than I would in the Vo'guv and didnt see how fast they dropped. the next 15 or so minutes of the 20 we spent circling each other blasting away, didnt put a dent in her shields more than a couple times I managed to get her down to 75% hull. Mostly due to what I like to refer to as STOs new version of Pally Bubble, hit secondary shield and then cloak. while cloaked my drone ships kept her in combat long enough for me to heal the damage and come back at her.
Me on the other hand was spamming every heal known to my captain, including hitting Miracle Worker every time the trait made it pop up again because it needed it.
All in all I enjoy the ship, not sorry I bought it, just would like it to perform a bit better in the survival department. Right now it feels like a Bird of Prey in the survivablity department with the turn rate of a cruiser.
As I stated in the last post, the tooltip on the shield at times show the stats of a t1-t2 regenerative shield. I have taken it out of the ship to compare the base stats, put in the ship, put it in my shuttle, stats stay the same in some missions,

I noticed fairly often that the shield tooltips when the shield is in your inventory will lock onto your shuttle instead of your Starship. Ever tried dismissing your shuttle?
Ever since I dismissed my shuttle, since I got annoyed with being unable to compare shield strengths with my equipped shield, that the Scimitar got a lot stronger and more tankable.
I'm wondering if this display bug is the game actually applying the shuttle shield and hull stats to your Starship, or *gasp* applying your shuttle's equipment to your Starship.
It could just be my imagination and just got lucky and avoided the annoying bugs, but I am interested if someone rich will try dismissing thier shuttle and seeing what that does if anything.
Here is a list of bugs ive found with it just today.
No shield regen.
Some boff powers like tac team not working, use tac team and your shield facing doesnt fill.
Valdore console wont refill shields at times.
Bugged resists, taking 40k dmg through shields on normal from warpcore breachs.
Console set ability rapid thrusters says we keep cloaking turnrate even when we decloak for as long as our ambush lasts, mine drops from 39 degrees per sec to 28 then bounces from 23-28 randomly.
Random loss of crew in combat, 3000 crew at start of fight, hit by 1 torpedo, lose 50% of my crew. Thats 1500! Drops you from 90% regen to 30%. By end of combat with 1 wave youve lost all your crew and then have 5% regen.
Power performance/eff skills from skill tree dont seem to be applying correctly either resulting in lower power then on normal romulan ships. and no not talking about -40 from sing cores.
Not all of these bugs occur all the time, but most do for me.
If this ship was really tested, cryptics uber failed on bug fixes.
Besides these, I've noticed that at times Engineering team does not repair the hull at all.
i found another bug, it isnt an "I Win" button.....
but indeed, a verry low shield regen rate, tactical team doesnt always apply distribute shields, hull ressistance doesnt seem to work, while being listed in stats.
hazard emitters dont always remove plasma burn,or remove the first shot not the second.
shield seems 100% bleed sometime's.
Yep the Squishytar is a great looking ship full of promise but as squishy as hell.
Running Elite Fleet Shields, cycling Aux2Bat on TSS3 and EmpTs 1, Secondary and primary shields pluse Sci team and the shields drop faster than lead balloon.
As a test SRS did a private CE Elite with 4 Scims, we were dying so much it wasn't funny and with the reduced firepower we couldn't get the beastie to less than 60%.
Rinse and repeat but now with a couple of Bortasqus an Ambassador and a Galaxy and we killed it, my Bort was killed about 3 times max, the game ran as normal. At first we thought the patch had buggered up CE again, but then we realised after the normal ships could beat it that it was the uber squishy nature of the Scimitar that was the main issue.
Currently advising fleet members to not buy it until this is investigated, don't want anyone else to be disappointed with the Squishytar.
I think the ship is worth getting with the current zen bonus, but would hold off after, I havnt had a huge amount of trouble with mine, I must have just adpated to its squishyness fast (i use alot of squishy ships), the shields do drop fast but they do regen even if its slow, I think like you I will be advising other fleet members against buying it till its fixed, however it is still a nice ship, and will be better once they fix it.

Welll, I took your suggestion and retired my runabout, and there was a couple of major changes.. First, my turn rate dropped from 19.3 to 15.8 ( using Maco engines and one rcs console )and second, I only died once in Infected elite. Hull still reports the same, shields still report the same, but yeah, its a different ship without that runabout in there.. OH and, i have no way to confirm it, but it seems as if my shots were more powerful than adding in a fourth fleet dhc would account for.. May have been luck on my behalf though..

I have not died that much in a ship in ages since I was a noob
I think I was even one-shot at full health by the final borg cube just as I entered weapons range
Dunno if that is more disappointing, or the Thalaron blast is also a joke in damage

Besides these, I've noticed that at times Engineering team does not repair the hull at all.
but indeed, a verry low shield regen rate, tactical team doesnt always apply distribute shields, hull ressistance doesnt seem to work, while being listed in stats.
hazard emitters dont always remove plasma burn,or remove the first shot not the second.
shield seems 100% bleed sometime's.
thats as far as i know
I think the ship is worth getting with the current zen bonus, but would hold off after, I havnt had a huge amount of trouble with mine, I must have just adpated to its squishyness fast (i use alot of squishy ships), the shields do drop fast but they do regen even if its slow, I think like you I will be advising other fleet members against buying it till its fixed, however it is still a nice ship, and will be better once they fix it.
