Systems Designer Phil "Gorngonzolla" Zeleski shares details about the upcoming Fleet System expansion in this entry of the Legacy of Romulus News Dev Blog series.
I hope the Featured Vanity Projects will cost substantially less than 200K... Giving us this for saving, well there;s one you can apply from the get go.
So do those dilithium discounts count for rep gear too? If so that would be a good 1st step to making the system less grindy.
Given that the current implementation of the holding on Tribble doesn't even break even (IE: you put more into the mine than you'll save with an entire T5 starbase and full Embassy)...not so much.
Cryptic explicitly makes the argument in this blog "it'll pay off eventually". Yes it will. After another full fleet holding (and even then only assuming that you built the entire Starbase and Embassy with the mine discount, which very, very few fleets will do). But it does nothing in the short term to lessen the grind.
In other words, Stahl's hype about a "significant improvement" from the mine is a complete and utter lie.

Assuming it goes live in its current form. They have already upped the discount once, I'm hoping they'll do it again before launch. 10/15/20 seems fair to me, and we're not too far off!
Please say this isn't the oft promised balm for small fleets. The stats from tribble show this to be a paltry discount compared to the prices. This addition makes involvement in a small fleet far more discouraging, not less.
Why I do not understand is why to upgrade the dilithium mine you need dilithium. Is like starting a brewery but you need to get beer first to star building it.
On a second thought, I will just get beer to build our mine?
Is there any reason to want to sell keys for ec (or to have a exchange in game) if all ships items are character bound and cant be sold on exchange to have a wannabe ingame economy?
I'm being somewhat cautious about the Dilithium Mine. Not that I think "cryptic suck!!!111!" because I don't, I have loved being a part of this game for nearly four years. My main concern comes from the amount of Dilithium you have to put in before you start earning more via discounts.
As long as we break even, I'm happy. Haven't tested this on tribble yet so I'll wait and see

So we need Dill to advance in this holding so we need to pay less dill. Cant u guys not increase 8k limit already... I mean after i got my 8k for that day refined and used.. than im done for the day. Increase it for vets like u did with that other game!! from 8k to 16k.
Talking to my self, asking stuff to my self, definitely not understanding my self. Such is the life of an overworked Starfleet admiral.

While iron is technically possible to mine without any iron tools, there are no modern iron mines operating without the use of iron and steel equipment. Just like nearly all petroleum wells need refined petroleum fuels or lubricants.
STO uses dilithium as the universal stand in for unreplicateable materials, and nearly all advanced equipment requires some unreplicateable materials. If you want to run an efficient modern mine you'll need that advanced equipment.
So do those dilithium discounts count for rep gear too? If so that would be a good 1st step to making the system less grindy.
There are actually two separate dilithium discounts found in the Dilithium Mine holding.
1) The first is the fleet project dilithium discount. This will reduce the dilithium required to complete a fleet project.
2) The second is the dilithium store discount. This will reduce the dilithium cost on almost every dilithium store in the game.
So, while neither of these discounts will reduce the input costs of personal reputation projects, any stores unlocked via a reputation will benefit from the second discount listed above.
For example: You unlock the Refracting Tetryon weapon projects from the Nukara Rep and your fleet has unlocked a Dilithium store discount. You will be able to buy these tetryon weapons at a discount as they are purchased from a dilithium store.
I can only go by what something is, not what it might be. If the numbers change, another evaluation will obviously need to be made. At the current numbers however, I fully stand by my statement.
They have already upped the discount once, I'm hoping they'll do it again before launch. 10/15/20 seems fair to me, and we're not too far off!
Make no mistake, Cryptic is already using that uppage as a smokescreen by claiming it's "feedback in action" (actual words taken from Bran's twitter). Given that the mine is slated to go live in two days, I highly doubt there's going to be any meaningful changes to make the mine anything more than another time and resource pit.
Since the current map is also where the existing asteroid mining map is... what will happen to our dil refinining claims we got from lockboxes. I have many claims that I only use when I won't make my daily refininng limit... but I still have a lot of them?
Do there become null and void, will there be some sort of conversion?
As I have stated in my tribble feedback. This is not worth building for current or new fleets. The discounts offered in no way make it easier for new fleets, let alone current fleets like my own.
Had the discounts been 10, 20, 30% for each tier respectively, then maybe.
All this does is make the gap larger for new fleets, which then in turn makes starting a new fleet even more daunting.
So in fact, despite Dstahl proudly anouncing that this would 'help' new and old fleets alike, it actually makes it worse
Oh, and hiding the new Armour and RCS console's behind this new paywall, just proves the point that they had no faith in that notion....:(
Most important question is not asked, nor answered : Will the dilithium refinement cap be raised ??? Else this fleet dilithium mine is just another sinkhole.
OK, if I have to stay here for a while, your cieling ... looks idious.:D

yes, but only very slightly, and you are part of a fleet that has completed the mine and has the daily missions available.
i will look forward to exploring this new fleet area when it comes out but while we wait can we have the officer of the watch from the embassy back, i miss going to her for fleet missions.
sure i know the follow dignitary mission does not work for klingon charactors but all the rest are fun and a good way to earn fleet marks and keep an eye on the progress of the embassy its self.
and you can never get enough fleet marks i find.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.
Are the new daily dilithium mining missions the same as the ones available at the current dilithium mining asteroid in Vlugta? Or are they new so you can chain them with Rich Dilithium Mines and the regular current dilithium mining? I find it to be a fun mini-game.
Incidentally, I'm looking forward to these projects because it will give my fleeties more opportunity to earn fleet credits. Instead of being stuck at 5 projects like we are now, we'll be able to go seven projects...
Can you confirm if this will affect projects already in progress?
Example - we have the T4 base upgraded sloted - but no dilithium of the 1.8 million has been added yet.
If we were to start the mine before continuing with the T4 upgrade in progress and get to T2 mine of 9% - will the sloted T4 upgrade be reduced 9%(not a refund on stuff filled - just a reduction on the unfilled sections)
This is a major deciding factor on whether to proceed with the mine first.
would it not be better to make greater demand on fleet marks and other resouces boffs/doffs to build the fleet mine rather than dilthium. you don't use gold to build a gold mine and that's effectively what your asking people to do.
even though there is discounts unlocked through levelling the mine. is this the much talked about help for small fleets?? or is there something else in the works??
as this is for all fleets. it really will benefit those big fleets 1st. as they will level the mine far quicker.
if a small fleet is still levelling an embassy after 7 months. this still isn't the help they need even with a 15% discount.
Since the current map is also where the existing asteroid mining map is... what will happen to our dil refinining claims we got from lockboxes. I have many claims that I only use when I won't make my daily refininng limit... but I still have a lot of them?

I expect the current Dil mine to still be there. It'd be kinda like DS9/Bajor. They're both in the same "spot" but seperate locations when you approach.

People, this is not about breaking even on dilithium, but about wicked new Neutronium consoles, and abso-****ing-lutely kick-TRIBBLE new Warp Cores! Mining dilithium is just a byproduct, really.

I'm sorry to people who I, in the past, insulted, annoyed, etc.
Let us upgrade the Seleya Ceremonial Lirpa and Kri'stak Blade

Thats pretty much all I gotta say.
