You my friend are an example of why there's a queue. I don't mean that as an accusation simply a statement of fact.
You represent an influx of new players. The servers were buffed to handle additional players, but Cryptic underestimated the sheer volume it seems.
Foolish given the New movie likely boosted web searches which lead to more people finding the game.
HEY I'm in!
yes he/she represents an influx of new players. with no existing emotional attachment to the game this day could contribute to them not becoming long term players..sigh

You're right. Some of the progress in the queue line has to be due to people just throwing up their hands and logging off.
I suspect the folks that run this game are operating under some heavy budgetary pressures, and for that reason, they haven't really beefed up the servers. I wish they had, but can you imagine the guy who is ultimately in charge having to explain his expense if the servers, even during peak times, are running at only 50% capacity?
Exec: "You invested $TRIBBLE in servers that are sitting idle?!?!"
It's all about covering one's aft compartment; it is better to deal with unhappy users than an unhappy boss.
I think that no one is actually being in game, (People just leaving Queue now and then goes down one). With the Server update i think they just F**ked it up.
Here's where you fail to understand, my good sir. The entitlement argument, that you seem to be labling me in, has absolutely NO DEBATE HERE. We gamers can act entitled, because WE ARE ENTITLED; we're entitled to a service we paid good freaking money for, we're entitled to a smooth running service. And for you to just come out an insult me like this by saying that I'm saying 'MEMEMEMEME,' there's something wrong with you. And you, are being an accessory to the problem that this godforsaken industry has.
I'm part of the problem because I say "Be patient. Things happen."?
Cool. Count me part of the problem then.
Oh by the way... let's include your original post, herm? For posterity?
"Well....huh..... WHAT THE HELL!? IT'S LIKE CRYPTIC NEVER BOTHERED TO LEARN FROM BLIZZARD AND EA!!! YOU ******N SCUMBAGS!!! THIS MAKES ERROR 37 LOOK LIKE CANDY MOUNTAIN!!! GO TO HELL CRYPTIC! FIX THE PROBLEM, OR ELSE!"
That, good sir, is why I count you part of the problem.
Come on guys, clean the rats out of the pipe line and open up some more slots. I have been waiting almost an hour here only to see the que line go over 20000.
Now They fixed the Log-in and the game is back to muck!
LoL

Frak me..stupid enough dumbass self forgot when you switch characters you requeue. All this for a ten second thing and then back to queue for the character I actually want to play.
Time to petition Cryptic to use all money from Legacy and Starter packs to fund getting more servers?? lol 1 for the fed, 1 for the klingons, and 1 for the romulans.....sounds about right lol
Doesn't matter if you escape the login que hell... you'll just get booted with server lag when you JUST get into it and start feeling like there's hope that you'll get to do ANYTHING tonight... LOL
WoW, was stuck at 1732 for the last few hours, looked at the screen 5 minutes go and was still at 1732 and just now was loged in. hopefully that's a sign things have changed somewhere.
Been a fun day so far... wait 3 hours downtime for new content... then can't log in due to unknown error. After a few hours of irritation the servers go down for 1.5 hours to patch the patch. And now I sit staring at a que. 5497 when I started que. One hour later, I'm at 4367, and I'm thinking that no one is actually getting in, just a few thousand people gave up in frustration.
I used to play another game, loved it, but it got popular and every time I tried to log in , their servers were full. Eventually I got tired of frustration and quit playing that game. Wonder how many customers per day a full que is going to cost STO?
I think I will be holding onto my money for the time being. I have never had to wait for this game and sure as hell don't intend to start now. If I have to wait come this weekend I'm going to another game...
There is only one thing I can say about all of this...
E P I C - F A I L!!!
Cryptic should have been better prepared for this. Nothing was learned from anniversary. Truly sad.
It is time for a tag-team <facepalm> from Picard / Riker.

This is bordering on idiocy now.
Thanks.
