I'ma lifetimer, I'm entitled!

I'm in total shock at the sheer number of posts I've seen in the past five minutes that look like this.

"im a lifetimer and i have to wait in a queue i should be ahead of silvers"

or.

"i wantz a refund, i buyed the shiny stuff!"

Hey guys, if you haven't said anything like this, applause to you.

To those who have made a post that looks like the above:

1) Buying a lifetime when the game launch is the same as 2.5 years of subscription. No possible justification for saying that silvers don't pay for the server but you do, when in fact you essentially stopped paying a subscription now.
2) In a queue? No duh Sherlock! There are other gold members waiting to get in also. No, you cannot say "why are there silvers ahead of me?" because we aren't. Unless you have some superpower, of course, and can see something I can't.
3) The game goes down for one friggin' day when the absolute biggest patch since launch went live. You're not entitled to get your money back for the legacy pack, you can wait ONE DAY to play with it. You're not getting prizes because somehow Cryptic owes you for things inevitable to happen. This was going to happen. If you've been around as long as you claim to have been, you should know this well.
4) While you're QQ'ing over that, have a cookie and some milk. -OR- Better yet, do something in this awesome thing called real life. Dare I say, outdoors.

Clear?
I ask nothing but that you remember me.

Excuse me, but I have bought plenty of zen. This exactly what I addressed in my original post. Having bought an LTS or sub doesn't make you suddenly better than me.

I got the chance to play for 3 hours before the meltdowns.

Right now I'm 2,529 out of 13851 behind me.

Line is hardly moving... but hey... I got THREE HOURS on what is the most technically demanding day in the history of the game.

Can't complain too much... I'm trying to stick with useable feedback/dialog with Brandon and the rest of the team.

My issue is that Cryptic should have anticipated these problems way beforehand, and added more servers to their list. If Neverwinter's popularity wasn't a big "Red Alert!" to them, I don't know what is.

Cryptic makes, as you said, one of the biggest patches in this game's history. They make advertising of the Romulan faction all over the Internet. They get IGN to cover the Romulus release material. They post statistics on the number of players, etc., which are bound to get bigger. They hire Star Trek cast members, publicize it. But they don't have the foresight to add servers before this patch hit Holodeck?

In my opinion, perhaps they should reach out to the community with a suggestion thread for new patches. This way, the problems many of us face in logging in could have been avoided altogether.

I'd be happy with more than just a week for Open Beta on a massive expansion. :)

These people disgust me. Everyone is becoming a self entitled dip-s*** these days. Do I have a LTS? Yes. Do I feel like the entire world should revolve around me because of it? Not in the least.

Heads up people just because you went and spent 199 (or 299 as the case may be) does not make yo better then any other player in this or any other game.

Not only that, but actually taking the time to listen to all feedback from players in Tribble, instead of "Well, we got 80% of the bugs, dunno if they're trivial or not, but we'll go ahead and paste it on Holodeck!". Also, don't they have a demographics specialist, who can use a spreadsheet and find out the predicted number of players in certain times of the day?

I'd be happy if some of the remaining, and more glaring bugs from closed beta had actually been fixed, and the new c-store ships had actually been testable at all.

I find that it is only certain people who do it. My fleet leader is an LTS and still buys a lot of zen, he doesn't put down no LTS people who buy stuff and treats them the same as him since they too are contributing so have a say. I am not an LTS but have bought a large section the unlockables. I have spent more then your average LTS over time and continue to tribute to the game not just for the stuff but also to support a game I really enjoy playing how am I less then an LTS who might have payed one time and left it at that.

Takes ALOT to get Vorporak fired up, and he's right. I half expect my family to kick in for a lifer sub for my birthday, and if I ever act self entitled, Vorporak, feel free to flame me. The starbase patching was buggy, this patch was way bigger.I expect months of problems, and with new content many new, and returning players...sever overload.
I spent more on PW cards for unlocks than a LTS sub, many times over...If you feel entitled, get over yourself.I expect new release problems, it happens.Exercise some patence folks. You won't die from it. Get out of moms raedon filled basement, and get a breath of fresh air.

Personaly, i'm a silver player who has spent a boat load of cash in the c shop but as soon as I can i'll probably buy a lifetime, doesn't make me any more or less special than anyone else, just means i'm spending money on a game. I really don't get all the arguing anyway, just look at it this way, if the game server is that full, that means once you do get in your going to see some crazy lag. I'd rather wait for less people to be on so I can log on and play without worrying about being lagged off the game

I am subscriber, I agree with the OP this is getting annoying with all this complaining over stuff we knew would happen.

Some of the LTS are so obnoxious they think they should not only be able to have priority login over silver but also over gold

The even more asinine ones were also complaining about not getting Legacy pack free, lol.

I think I'm going Vet ship hunting again to teach some of them a lesson.

I'm proud to say I'm a Silver player, and after all the elitist BS from some of the lifers and golds I'll no longer refer to myself as a F2P. Why you ask, because I'm on a fixed income and there are more important things than a shiny title that says I can spent a frak load of money in one shot and you can't.

I've spent well over the lifer sub on purchasing things individually, and was able to save up enough for the legacy pack. There's nothing in the lifer sub I want, so why does that make all my contributes null and void?? It doesn't.

Everyone supports this game in their own way, all the way from lifers, to golds, to silvers, to f2p that haven't spent a dime and might or might not ever, but they play the game, the enjoy it. If a f2p likes the game and tell their friends and their friends start playing and so on, that word of mouth can generate just as much income.

The only time I wanted some entitlement in this game is when I was one day away from my 1000 day vet ship and Cryptic announced that every lifer would get every vet reward no matter how long they have played the game. Obviously, I got my money's worth out of my lifetime subscription and don't expect much more expect making subscriptions more attractive.

I Think in the pass year I have spent as much or more on this game then your Lifetime payment was. at this point its the silvers and the ones that are still paying for a sub that is keeping the game going. Not a whining lifer that thinks they are above everyone else and needs everything handed to them.

I'm a lifer. So far I've invested almost $900 into this game. ($894.98 to be precise.)

I didn't spend that money for perks. I didn't spend it to feel superior to F2P silver members. And I certainly didn't spend expecting it would get me a golden ticket to run around holodeck today with no lag or disconnects.

I spent that money because I love this game and I want to support it.

I don't want any of that money back.

In fact, the next time there's a sale on ships or zen I'll probably give them even more money. Because I can, and because I want to.

T hese entitled claims are always funny to read on the forum, i am lts and i dont feel entitled.
R esponding to such comments on entitlement does nothing. some people wont want to understand son long as they paid for it.
O n the other hand though people shouldnt be so quick to call cryptic out on it in the short term since the long term gain outweighs the argument.
L ooking around over the years, it seems a constant there will always be those entitlement types. its a fact of life on this game and forum.

One of my favorite things about these forums are the so called 'entitlement' threads. The hubris of these people, which they so arrogantly display at every possible opportunity, is very very funny. It is is even funnier when someone torpedoes their vastly over inflated opinion of themselves and they don't get the joke.

In terms of being a customer who supports the game, yes it does.

    1. Lifetimers - Ponied up a whole lot of money up front, and in good faith for Cryptic to do the game good.

    2. Gold Subbers - Regularly paying money into the game, regardless if they actually buy anything.

Then you have the Freeloaders. The ones who don't pay any money into the game. Just because you acquire and spend Zen doesn't mean you've spent your money in this game. You can sell dil to get Zen, and in return, make those purchases while still not putting real money into STO & Cryptic's coffers.

So... let's say I'm running Cryptic (God help us all, right?). For the moment I have to prioritize who gets in due to some issues that I hope can be resolved soon. Who gets in first? The guys who have actually made the regular commitment and paid money (or Lifetimers, alot in a lump sum), or the guys who haven't given me s**t?

Let's see... I dunno... seems so hard to figure out

This is part of the deal... Cryptic/PWE added this part on their own, without influence from the players, so the HAVE to live up to this part. Wich they do for all gold members. (Not just LTS)

    or.

"i wantz a refund, i buyed the shiny stuff!"

Ya... This paticular one always makes me laugh too.

Hey guys, if you haven't said anything like this, applause to you.

    Thanks

To those who have made a post that looks like the above:

    1) Buying a lifetime when the game launch is the same as 2.5 years of subscription. No possible justification for saying that silvers don't pay for the server but you do, when in fact you essentially stopped paying a subscription now.

Guess that depends on how you see it... From my point of view, I have just payed slightly less for my sub than regular golds. (249 USD / 39 Months = 6,3 USD pr month), along with my C-Store purchases...
    But again...

    2) In a queue? No duh Sherlock! There are other gold members waiting to get in also. No, you cannot say "why are there silvers ahead of me?" because we aren't. Unless you have some superpower, of course, and can see something I can't.

Fully and entirely true... Most people tend to forget that others have subs too.

Best formulation.... in a long time... I've seen better and more polite, but that dosen't make it any less true.

    4) While you're QQ'ing over that, have a cookie and some milk. -OR- Better yet, do something in this awesome thing called real life. Dare I say, outdoors.

GARGH... WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? OUTDOORS? You nuts? Theres rain out there ^^

    Clear?

Shiny... BUT... Just remember that post that arent moderated are accepted and respected by Cryptic, so it's fine that you voice your opinion, but don't assume you have the right to tell other people what to write or not. That's what the mods are for. (<<-- Granted, this could probably have been formulated diffrently, but I can't think of it atm)

Response in an almost funny fashion added within quote.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.
