I was considering buying that lifetime subscription that's currently on sale for $200, but I don't really see the point if I can't even play in the first place.
It seems like every time I've come on to play in the last month, the server has been down, and now I can't log-in. I've been looking forward to this for two months, and I've been wanting to play as a Romulan for more than a year.
it so funny that you blame PWE for a game that was made by Cryptic long before PWE came into the picture PWE owns Cryptic that is all they give them the money to put into the games Cryptic creates and gives advice how to run them but your blaming the wrong company and there is no reason to blame Cryptic either this was to be expected 4 or so hours after launch and everyone and there grandmother was trying to log in at once
Its not about blame it don't matter who is to blame this should not be happening they were aware of the load on the server and the amount of traffic this new episode would create so just get is fixed i don't pay lifer subscription to sit around waiting for a fix on release day.

I remember playing Eve Online when they did a massive overhaul, it was called trinity. It moved the entire game from DX7 to DX9, updated ALL textures in the game, added new content, ships, systems and gameplay mechanics. It basically changed the game from what it was to what it became. Guess what...took about 4 hours downtime and that was it. The patch took 30 minutes to download, the servers DIDNT crumble under the pressure. This is just complete, utter lack of foresight and competence.

The fact is, STO is getting completely hammered by the sheer amount of people trying to download the patch and/or play. The fault is on the community this time.

Well actually I'm updating it on my laptop to see what happens as a test bed and I re installed it to a different folder on my pc fresh for giggles .. isn't this so much more fun than wiping out the Borg
Now at 34.9% on the fresh pc install .. the laptop gave up after one try ... must be one smart machine ...

After 20-25 attempts past the unknown reason, I got back in.
And the lag is so horrible you can't do anything anyway.
Want to move stuff into your account bank... been trying now for 30 minutes for 1 item.
