i never got around to posting that issue in my report the other day on bug forum about the fed aligned only officers, i could travel to qo'nos to get a common klingon to replace the alien gen kdf officer which i believe is not a good choice for cryptic, if it is to imply that there would have to be a representative of a side.
That rep would have to look and speak as an official member and not as some random alien with no influence as a lowly Bekk or crewman;
so if its kdf it would be completely male or female klingon. if its fed allied then completely human, male or female. as both races are the core members of each empire.
so in reality the officer vendor should be selling common kdf only races like fed only races.
hopefully there is a change for that by launch or before it even.
I disagree. While for the Klingons it would make sense to a small degree, but as far as their concerned if you're good enough to be an officer then you're automatically loyal enough to serve the empire and its interests. If the Klingons wouldn't trust someone enough to serve as liaison, then they wouldn't trust them enough to let them serve at all, hence why we got a Gorn Ambassador in the Dominion Feature series.
The Federation is horribly stereotyped as being humanocentric and human dominated due to humans being the most influential founders and the capitol being Earth, but the Federation Council is an egalitarian senate with each species having equal representation, and the current Federation President is a Saurian, with Grazerite and Efrosian presidents being shown in canon. Contrary to popular anti-Federation sentiment, it's NOT a Homo Sapiens only club. Frankly if you were going to be speciesist about what kind of officer would serve they'd probably send a Vulcan, since D'Tan is a unificationist and it would promote greater understanding between Romulans and Vulcans...and the food requirements would be much simpler.
The truth of the matter is that the only species in the major powers in the Alpha and Beta Quadrants that would be so racist is the Cardassians, Breen, Tholians...and the Romulans of old.
small problem with this: Will/would CBS allow this?
Why wouldn't they? Allowing Cryptic to use Romulans without allowing the ranks is absurd. This isn't like them restricting the game from using Soong type androids because they want to preserve Data and his brothers' uniqueness, or not specifying the final fate of the Enterprise-E because it may be touched upon at a later date. These are ranks, which are integral things to displaying a military structure.
"Rise like Lions after slumber, In unvanquishable number, Shake your chains to earth like dew, Which in sleep had fallen on you-Ye are many they are few"
Maybe it would have been better to not limit the Romulan missions during closed beta..... would have given the devs more time to process the feedback...
It was probably limited because the missions weren't even completed yet, and I have no doubt that after the 21st the bug hunting will still be ongoing. That's not a criticism, it's just the nature of the beast, sometimes the only way to find bugs is if a lot of people are playing, beta testing can only find so much, beta testers rarely check everything, they go for what interests them while ignoring other things, so a bug can go a long way before someone finally stumbles upon it.
If something is not broken, don't fix it, if it is broken, don't leave it broken.
Reason being, we saw plenty of two-pip Rear Admirals, and they never once said "upper half" as far as I can remember.
All admirals are addressed as simply "admiral". Much like you don't call a lieutenant commander "lieutenant commander" you simply call them, "commander". Since this is more or less what the title represents (or at least seems to) there shouldn't even be a "vice" or "rear" never mind an "upper/lower half".

Well the bug hunt continues
some of the current bugs have been reported and are widely known like "Devil's choice" incubator rooms, can't train your BOs in space skills atm, others like I'm unable to set rally points for my away team on my kdf allied romulan tac which makes "Price of Neutrality" un-completable for me since it requires a rally point be used to progress the mission ( strange that it worked in closed beta, but not when the open beta patch occurred). Frankly i've been on tribble about 12+hrs a day since closed beta started, it looks so much nicer than holodeck atm
TRIBBLE has been updated to a new build.
ST.30.20130513a.0
General:
The Login Queue will no longer display such outlandish and incorrect numbers.
Answer: You mean I wasn't number 255,789 waiting
Romulans:
Updated Devil's Choice: Resolved an issue that prevent players from being able to finish the "Kill the Incubators" phase, specifically in rooms 2 and 3.
Answer: Okay whats the RESOLUTION?? I still can't finish the "Kill the Incubators" phase, specifically in rooms 2 and 3.
Do I have to DROP the Mission and RE-SELECT IT??

Romulans:
Resolved an issue that prevent Romulan captains from being able to train their Bridge Officers new skills.
All Romulan Warbirds have been updated to display the correct starting power levels.
Updated Turnabout: Corrected issue where Engineers clicking on the final console would not have it register as a success, preventing them from finishing the mission.
Updated Devil's Choice: Resolved an issue that prevent players from being able to finish the "Kill the Incubators" phase, specifically in rooms 2 and 3.
Updated Best Defense to show how many waves are to be expected.
Updated many missions to add VO.
A Respec trainer has been added to the Flotilla.
Romulan admirals now have title choices of Subadmiral I and Subadmiral II.
These replace Rear Admiral Lower Half and Rear Admiral Upper Half.
The Romulan promotion missions now reference the correct Romulan ranks, instead of Starfleet ranks.
Romulan Captains can no longer obtain infinite copies of the Romulan Republic Recruitment assignment from New Romulus Command.
Romulans will be able to turn in the Bridge Officer Requisition promotion missions to the Officer Vendor on New Romulus Command.
Mission: Turnabout. Possible to finish now.
Mission: Devil's Choice. Stuck can't progress.
* Incubation Room Two
*Eliminate Incubators
Mission still cant complete. Killed everything in room two that I could find. Room reads empty on map too. Still need to kill some non-existent Incubators, just like before the patch.

This was a fresh mission I picked up, as I dropped the old one that was also bugged.
Nukara Impulse Engines Mk XI the 2pc set bonus weapon stabilizers - Automatically removes weapon disabled conditions after 4 sec?
I guess thats good if my engineer team is on cooldown but IMHO it should be 2 sec instead of 4 sec
Still waiting to hear if the UI color scheme's can be set up so that I can select one of the specific types to use on certain characters. As it stands, selecting "Default" is the only way to make sure that your LCARS color scheme is faction-specific. If you select any of the other options, they get universally applied to all characters on an acount. It would be nice if I could use the "Voyager" color scheme on my Federation characters, while my Romulan and Klingon toons keep their default settings.
Well it still looks like there's still lots to do, I replayed 3 different episodes in the Romulan arcs hoping to get a lousy RCS console that was listed as a reward, not a chance, every single one gave me something different than what was listed in the mission rewards.
Devils Choice is a bear in the final stages, I finally managed to get past the 3rd Incubation chamber only to die repeatedly dealing with the mob spamming going on in the last room, I'm supposedly playing in normal mode but that mission is an elite mode headache if there ever was such a thing. Same is true of the the final Romulan defense mission, the number of ships spawning basically turned my fairly decent computer into complete TRIBBLE, the frame rate was literally stop motion frame stepping. Come on guys, what is with the megaspawning, not everyone can afford triple SLI video rigs.
P.S> I now sympathize completely with players complaining about the D'deridex's turn rate, that thing is a wallowing pig, what the hell is even the point of letting it mount cannons. As soon as I get back in I'm dumping the cannons and putting on beam arrays since it's clear the thing is just another fat failcruiser.

I never noticed, but then I'm used to working with larger ships, even on a Tactical officer. The D'Deridex turns well enough when cloaked, but then too I was lucky enough to get a Mk VII blue RCS console, but cloaking seems to make it turn better. Give that a try, maybe?

As a tactical officer, I managed to get the turn rate of the d'deridex up to 21.2 deg/sec by putting maximum points in Impulse Thrusters. I did not use a RCS console at all. And when I was cloaked, I could turn the ship on a dime. AND, I equipped nothing but cannons on it, as that is the canon weapons load out for a d'deridex.
I think people are too focused on the base stats to remember that you're supposed to use your skill points as well as your consoles, in TANDEM, to improve the stats of a vessel. It seems to me that a lot of players are expecting ships to have turn rates that are already high enough without modification, so that they can focus their points and consoles on things they want to make OP, like energy weapons damage, or shields and hull, or some other system.
And with the fix to the Impulse Thrusters skill, you could put 6 points, or even 3 points, in it, and it would make a marked improvement on your D'deridex's turn rate. Instead of people complaining about the D'deridex not being a tactical cruiser, try making it into one with the skills your toon has available.

Now if people would apply this to cruiser builds they would see that there is no need to increase the abilities of cruiser, and that escorts do not need to be nerfed.

How Romulans Should Choose What Faction They Are In
Ground portion of Price of Neutrality is now bugged. Placing a BOFF in front of the camera has no effect... It used to work fine.
