I'm okay with the low Nukara Marks...as long as they also drop off the Vault and Azure, so that if I'm going to have to grind, I can at least grind efficiently.

    ^ Same here

I grind Omega Marks on Defera, and never bothered with the STF's (not my thing). So it takes two-three weeks to get all I need for the stuff I want instead of one day, big deal.

[Jest] STF's have probably spoiled some of you :D [/Jest]
    Was named Trek17.

Been playing STO since Open Beta, and have never regarded anything as worse than 'meh', if only due to personal standards.

There are just too many currencies, marks, credits, crystals, etc. .....for me any way

    I guess some enjoy it

I would rather see a consolidation of the type of currencies and marks (which was the goal of dil years ago)

The Tribble server has been updated.

    Systems:
    • The firing arcs of each of the following Abilities have been increased from 90-degrees to 135-degrees:
      • Subnucleonic Beam
      • Aceton Beam
      • Tachyon Beam
      • Tyken's Rift
      • Gravity Well
      • Viral Matrix
      • Breen Energy Dissipator Console
      • Graviton Pulse Console
    • The firing arcs of each of the following Abilities have been increased from 120-degrees to 135-degrees:
      • Isometric Charge Console
      • Magnetometric Overload Console
      • Known Issue: Hovering over these powers will not generate the correct Firing Arc overlay, but will instead show a 180-degree arc.
    • Increased the benefit of RCS Accelerator consoles.
      • They will now provide a benefit closer to what is indicated by the tooltip.
      • This is a larger change for slower ships with RCS Accelerators than ships that already had a fast turn rate.

      UI:
      • Updated the HUD:
        • Shortened the height of the player status HUD element.
        • Moved buff timer below the edge of the buff icon.
        • Changed the style of the ground target window.
        • Added black border around small HUD font (used in mouseover states for health bars.
        • Improved visibility of the clock and zone name on the minimap.
        • Slightly reduced size of ground and space power trays.
        • Reduced height of space shield tray.
        • Moved ground team member status windows further to the left.
        • The HUD mouseover options should now save properly.
      • Added "Federation Classic", "Klingon Classic", and "Romulan Classic" color schemes.
        • These schemes feature lower contrast with bright button text and icons, and do not have a red alert mode.
      • When an enemy is a higher level than you, the space UI tells you the level difference with a number next to their name.
        • That number has been changed from red to orange to avoid appearing as part of the target's name.
      • Changed the tooltip of the Romulan and KDF options in character creation to no longer indicate the old incorrect message about reaching Level 25 on a Starfleet character.
        • Instead it now indicates that permission to create a Romulan and/or KDF character has not been granted.
        • This is a text change only.
      • It's now possible to click a level on the skill level indicator to buy the clicked level of the skill.
      • Resolved an issue in which Trait Respec tokens could be spent even if there are no traits to respec.
        • Also added a confirmation dialog to the Trait respec button to prevent accidental respecs.
      • Updated the tailor and character creator:
        • The tailor will now properly refresh outfits after saving changes.
        • Going into the ship tailor no longer causes zooming to break in the character tailor.
        • The mouseover preview hairs and faces will now be disabled while spinning the outfit in the character creator or tailor.

    For all of this.

    THANK YOU!!!!

Another release notes post, another lack of the XP Media Center bug under known issues. It's not like it's been reproduced by just using XP Media Center, or that it renders the game unplayable or anything.

To the person who said "No fix for the Tal Shiar Deflector Array" - To you sir/madam, I give this quote:
[*]The "Tal Shiar Deflector Dish" received from the mission "Enemy Action" now properly allows for the activation of Science abilities.

Any chance there's a fix coming transporter and warp out effects? Upon choosing the KDF to ally with my Romulan's transporter effect became Klingon sounding and red, and my nacelle warp glow became red, I heard they stayed green for Fed allied Romulans.

And if I missed the answer to this earlier... whoops.

Could a Dev or somebody with the Rom Sci [Pla] consoles comment on whether they were changed as well (akin to the changes made to the Plasma Infusers)...?

edit: Posted this in another thread regarding them...
See, while I agree with bringing Infusers in line with other Tac consoles...yeah, even though I don't have them - I'd be ticked off if they changed the Rom consoles. It would be a principle thing. They're not Tac consoles, so they don't need to function like them. They've got a higher cost/more investment than just a Tac console. They should continue to function as they do.

Really do hope that the devs do not change them...based on what I said in reply above in the other thread.

To be fair, the singularity change puts different builds on the same level. previously a cannon boat with CRF could charge up in seconds while it took longer for a beam build, and the fact that energy weapons charged it meant torpedo builds get screwed. If charge is independent of energy weapon fire rate then it makes non-cannon builds more viable.

The cooldowns are too long/powers too weak for the cooldown, still, though.

    Hi

I've reached Commander (30) but i can't claim my D'Deridex. My Subcommander promotion mission won't clear. Is this Intentional?

This needs to be increased. Already bad enough that you award a measly 10 Romulan Marks for any daily mission on/around New Romulus. You're gonna start awarding FIVE Marks? Even if you increase both easy, medium and hard rewards, by 100% (10/20/30), that would still be rather low. Patrol daily in Tau Dewa awards 60 Marks. A Borg Elite STF can award upwards of 100 Marks (during event hour).

10 for easy, 25 for medium and 50 for hard does not seem to me to be that much of a stretch. You don't want the rewards so low that noone will run them.

I have to agree. Thats 100s and 100s of missions by my math.

Aside from the fact I think New Romulas is a complete joke... Its a complete waste of time to do any of those for 10 marks. Ive seen no benefit to even opening up the tiered missions.

The other factor the Devs are missing is BURN OUT. There seems to be some kind of perception that everyone just has one toon or something. Even if you just have a main Fed and Klingon its a lot of grinding now.

I honestly never want to do many of the missions ever again. I mean ever. Knowing that Ill have to re grind stuff that I am already burned out on for a Romulan Character is bad enough.

One of my greatest joys is that I have one more item left on more character and in a couple of days Ill never have to suffer thru an STF again.

The Defeating the Nausicaans mission step is now required to successfully complete Sleepers
The mission says that there are 2 to destroy, yet I only need to destroy 1 to be able to progress to boarding the Cube. Also, if I exit to sector after completing the mission but before handing it in, it resets, every time.

    THIS!

Insanely low marks for time spent is Completely bogus.
I love testing the new stuff, seeing what breaks how smooth its running and all that, but very low rewards is something people are going to HATE the most over any glitches...those marks really need to be doubled and for hard...I'm expecting like 50 marks for the kind of effort we have to put forth in those caves. Its been said over a million times that people HATE the grind and for some reason nobody listens...

Grinding over and over again is like finding a good wall to bang your head on...Yeah its like that.

Fer cryin' out loud people... Do you really think the point hasn't been nailed home after 10+ pages of different folks complaining about the same damn thing, over and over? They even updated the patch notes to reflect a sort of "work in progress" state on the matter. Give it a rest already.

What most are upset about is the Nukara marks. Which Zero specifically said was done for now. So there's nothing WIP about them atm.

Please consider giving the missions a better reward, or at least introducing a mission that gives 60 marks, be it an elite stf eqivalent or like the Tau Dewa patrol.
Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.

    Whelp...

This patch made the game very unstable again for me.

    Dang...

I have no problem logging in, but after a few minutes I get the 'Server Not Responding' message.

I've once again checked my nettest and my tracert, both are more than adequate.

Something in the game is making my modem very unhappy.

I had to delete the game and reload it to fix this a couple of days ago...

I'm not looking forward to doing that again... :(

    Oh, and please..., Please..., PLEASE!

Will You fix the dang chat window so the stupid thing stays shut when I close it!!

This might be important, but a similar bug appears on holodeck when flying a faction neutral ship as KDF (my KDF Galor occasionally gets the blue fed warp-out and transwarp animation)

Wait, the Graviton Pulse Console currently has the ability to disable engines for 60 seconds in a 90-degree cone, hitting a bunch of targets in PvP, and it's now being expanded to an even wider arc? A 60-second disable (which is achievable if properly specc'ed) which can hit an entire team is just a mite bit over-powered methinks.

Today, I made cople of tests, on my Vo'quv. On Holodeck I am using DBB as weapon, and turrets as aft weapon. Work nice, do some pew pewing. Bought 3xDC and copyed all this to Tribble. And that was amazing, how carrier now can work with DC\DHC with RCS consoles. So now, its even more possibilitys to built your own carrier and as you like, now carriers can do dps on its own, not only tank or support. Vo'quv got turn of 12, and Vor'cha got turn of 25. that pretty much battle cruiser for carrier and escort for battle cruiser turn rate. Its realy nice change and fresh air to heavy ships captains life.

Go back and check. A little typo and "not" becomes "now". 1 letter and the meaning becomes the opposite. Once is funny but this is at least the 3rd time patch notes have caused confusion due to an identical typo.

    Spelling matters.
