I'm dubious about purchasing this pack, especially since the majority of items don't interest me:
In order of preference:
The rest of the items don't interest me.
Also, I'm concerned about the Reman Duty Officer pack.
"Only once per RR character on an account".
Does that mean you can only claim it once and then never again?
So, in theory, if I was to make a second RR toon, they wouldn't get the pack if the first RR toon had claimed it?
I'd prefer it was per character, not per account.
Also, it's a lot of money to ask when I'm not even going to play the faction.
It doesn't matter how many bells and whistles you attach if I'm not going to show up to perform in the orchestra.
From your own post you quoted the following information... "Special Reman Duty Officer Mini-Pack
Add Reman Duty Officers with special traits to your crew. Unlocks only once per Romulan Republic character on an account."
You only highlighted the bit saying you cannot multi-claim on each character so I thought I'd help by highlighting the bit which says it is per character, just like you wanted.
Oh, and gotta say it, Cosmic just became my new hero... patience of a saint, man, patience of a saint.

Please feel free to correct me if I'm misinterpreting any data.
From what the post says, you won't be able to obtain the Duty Officer pack via any method other then purchasing the large pack.
Which means if I want those DOFFs, I'm going to have to shell out money for the large pack, which I'm not really convinced is worth it.
Also, I have a question about purchases.
How exactly do you buy them and apply it to your account?
Does it ask you to enter your account ID anywhere?
I don't use Paypal or whatever that other one is, I prefer direct credit card charges.
Also, the last time I tried to purchase something via PW's webstore, the browser kept cancelling it because of "too many redirects".
And how long will they be "limited time offers?"
I don't want to buy it right away, I want to wait a bit.
i bought the legacy a few hours ago.talked with support first.for some reason they cant take the money directly so they use those 2 providers services.no big deal really.you will notice on the upper tab that u already have gonne through registration when you go to the screen where you chooce paypal or skrill(you are already on the second tab at that point).after you purchase it and go to the pack selection screen you will see a message saying "thanks for supporting sto" all that ,while you are logged in.so its safe to assume that they know its u and you wont loose your purchase
if something goes wrong know that billing support is really good.at least it was for me.they replied within 7 minutes after i made the ticket and they very good at explaining what to do and the reasons for this 3d party payment thing.qudos for that cryptic.never before have i ever had such fast and accurate support!
I did try to use paypal once, only for the transaction to fail.
It said something like: "you must wait 2 days for your transferred cash to clear credit checks".
I took that to mean that even if I wished to buy the pack right now, I'd have to wait 2 days until paypal got the money.
Which is why I prefer direct transactions, with my credit card number, it will give them the cash instantly.
i had to try 2 times through paypal.first time i was told that the process timed out or something.just do the payment without logging in to paypal.it worked for me.and be on the look out for anything else in your email.
Logged in for the first time in a few months to see what all the commotion was about, saw price for new optional romulan pre-order, spat out tea while laughing hard, logged out. lol

The price is for all the romulan C-store content.
It is not a preorder for the romulan faction, or access to the romulan content.
I dont spend money on anything less than VA Ships.
Just FYI, the T5 ship included in the starter pack is indeed a RA ship. VA ships are things like the Assault Cruiser and Star Cruiser - 9 console slots, with no special console, given out when you hit RA or bought with dilithium from the ship vendor. The Retrofits of the Galaxy/Defiant/Voyager, the Multi-vector escort, or the Regent class refit, that each include an exclusive console and cost 2000 Zen (or given out free if you have the 300-day vet reward) are RA ships; the one in the starter pack falls into this category and is priced accordingly.
You are thinking of the 2500 Zen 10-console ships like the Odyssey, Vesta, and lockbox ships. They are also VA ships, but are the equivalent of Fleet ships rather than the ones above. Even if you get the bundle, you will probably be able to buy a 10-console fleet version of the ship for 500 Zen extra later and make use of the special console.
In regards to iconic Romulan ships being in the C-Store, for the most part, they appear (I'm in the closed beta, there's no NDA for it, we can talk) to be upgraded versions. "Normal" versions of the same ships are in the regular progression. (I.E., you can get them while leveling, for EC or Dil, without spending Zen). So don't worry, that stuff's in there.
A really neat thing is, uprated versions of the T'liss (the TOS Romulan warbird) are in there for most tiers! That is awesome to me, I'm going to spend a lot of Zen on those.
In regards to Cryptic taking their own credit cards:
I work for a Fortune 500 corporation that takes credit cards directly instead of using a third-party processor. Over 80% of the PCI-in-scope systems in that corporation belong to my group, and within that group I'm the lead for Compliance and Security. Believe me when I tell you, if you can avoid being under PCI rules, you want to. By using a third-party processor, Cryptic saves themselves a tremendous amount of money and pain. I do not blame them one bit for it, and in fact, I would have recommended it if they'd asked my opinion when making the decision.

As an IT admin who works in the health insurance industry, I will back that up. Any time you can reduce the amount of PCI and PHI that a company has to deal with, it's flat out money you save. I can't even count all the extra systems we have in place here to make sure that anything outgoing does not contain PCI/PHI - and all those system cost not only money to license and upkeep, but manpower to manage them.
The only thing dumber than Cryptic are the fools that will buy this.
If you don't want any of the C-Store ships then don't buy any. Fly the free ships and have fun. No one is forced to do anything they don't want to do.
As I've said to others, what do you care what people do with the vanity money? Maybe you buy a pack of cigs a day, which runs you about $2,000 a year. Maybe you go bowling 5 nights a week and that costs you $100.00 a month. It's your money, do whatever you want with it - and let others do likewise.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
I'll pass for this pack when it is given to the life-subscribers for free. We paid $300 for the life-subscription, and now more this patch. NO THANK YOU

LTS members have never gotten C-Store items for free. Not pre-FTP when no one could grind Dilithium and not now. The Pack is just a C-Store bundle sale: buy them all at once and get a 30% discount. It has nothing to do with anyone's Subscription type. It has nothing to do with the LoR update, which is free.

As the Devil's Advocate, I'd like to point out your statement is not entirely true, from a certain point of view... LTS Accounts, in fact all Gold Members, get a 500 Zen monthly stipend that they can use to make C-Store purchases. Some might consider that "free" C-Store items. :P
You can find/contact me in game as @PatricianVetinari. Playing STO since Feb 2010.
For those of you who have been talking on here about wishing there was a middle-of-the road option for packs, I decided to do something about it. I have set up a basic petition in the C-Store/Promotions Feedback Forum asking the devs to consider adding a new $60 pack. Any support would be appreciated. You can find the thread through this link.

I checked the forum rules but didn't see anything about not posting petitions to the devs to change the game. I imagine they are probably allowed given that most of the feedback in the art and C-Store areas are basically "Devs, give us X awesome item!!!!" If I find out otherwise, I would of course remove the offending post.

Having bought the legacy pack does not make you eligible to get a beta invite.
Niether does asking for one.

I think petitions are against the forum rules....
Most of the Romulan content is gonna be in the C-store...
That kind of investment is not worth it if the Romulans were a full faction .
Here's what I think happened :
.... meanwhile at Cryptic ....
Employee 'A' : oh boy , those NW starter packs are not selling very well , we had different projections ... , what are we gonna do ?
Employee 'B' : hey ... how about them suckas who think a 25$ ship is a "micro transaction" ? /snicker/
Employee 'A' : rrrriiiggghhhht ... , gotcha !
