Add me to the list, but this started for me last night while trying to go back and run "Doomsday Device" for the Torpedo Reward. It wouldn't let me assign BOs at all for the Bird of Prey during any part of the mission.
Log in today and can't assign them to any of my ships, it cleared my slots and will only let me fill 3 of the 5. Warping around, logging off and on, etc. does not work. Please fix this mess as it makes the game highly unplayable.
Just earned Captain, picked up new cruiser, unable to assign Boffs to any station. Old ship can change boffs but not select none. Possibly new ship creation makes workarounds not function as you cant change station from none to assigned, just as you seem to be unable to change assigned to none on ships created prior to patch. I have a spare bridge officer and still am unable to assign it to the new ship.
Have tried:
different areas, and instances
exiting, reloading, logging out then back in
Switching ships
Have yet to try fleet zone as I need to find a fleet with a starbase to join for this workaround, correct?
Edit: Joining a fleet and entering fleet system did NOT fix this for me. Still unable to assign any boffs on new ship.
I recently purchased a Research Science Vessel for my Engineering character, and I found that I can't assign bridge officers to stations. I tried logging out and logging back in, and no joy.
Anyone run into something similar to this? Any advice for me in this situation?
went to memory alpha and tried all my boffs well only 2 tac officers work at all.
on another note i have posted and put tickets in and have gotten no replies but the belfast bridge doesn't allow access to the account bank now i spend money on that and it should work

ok went to fleet starbase system and it seemed to fix the problem for my new fleet ambassidor
iv tryed everything and nothing worked did the chance instances and it didnt work even tryed changin out ships and nothing i logged out then back in nothing
Go to your Fleet starbase system and you will be able to assign your boffs just need to be outside your starbase to do this but you will need to change maps like dock then go back out to set your tray afterwards. CHEERS
Okay. Relogging doesn't help. Switching instances doesn't help. Switching zones doesn't help. Cannot assign new BOFFs in Memory Alpha system or station. This is ONLY affecting my new Research Science Vessel, my old Escort can reassign BOFFs with no problem.
I found an odd work-around, though. I recruited a Tactical BOFF and it was immediately assigned to my Tac slot; then I was able to switch it around to whom I wanted. Anyone else try this work around?
Oh, and I'm not in a fleet, for those wondering it (though maybe I should accept one of those random invitations?)
EDIT: Okay, the re-buy work-around seems to have worked. A solution for those without fleets, if you have the dilithium or spare BOFFs laying around.
Many of my contacts have had issues getting this to work. The following repro steps have *worked* for everyone encountering this issue:
Go into sector space
Swap instances
Go to your primary ship's bridge
Press U -> Click Stations
Select the first bridge slot and select any BOff. Do *not* reselect "None".
If this does not work, redo these steps and select the first *Universal* bridge slot and select any BOff.
Six people so far who have been unable to get BOff slotting to work were able to resolve the issue doing this. The fleet starbase trick worked for a couple others as well, but not the players mentioned above.

I logged in for the first time in a long time. went to Starbase 24, and when I got in, all of my BO abilities were gone. I'm not sure how that happened. This is a fresh new PC and a fresh new installation of STO using my Galaxy class starship and commander-level character. So how do I get the BO abilities back?
I too was unable to equip boffs to my new ship, tried:forums/different shipyards/logging/rebooting/checked my old ships(they were still stationed). this is how i got them to equip stations: i tried it in gorn minefield pve, they are now equipped... good luck to you all... btw i was able to equip either of my 2 sci boffs to my new ship while i was having trouble but nothing else,.. go figure.. ty STO
I've just acquired a mirror universe assault cruiser and I'm unable to assign any BOffs to any station. However I can do it in my other ships. I've tried every solution given in this thread but nothing seems to work. Any reaction from game staff please ?
I'm having this issue too, that and everytime i zone my hot bars (action bars, abilites bars whatever you wanna call them) get messed up. I'll try the fleet map thing for my boffs tho. Honestly, this is starting to go WAY beyond just annoying

Same problem here, decided to use my science ship for awhile, but i can't assign any of my officers to it, and some of my officers are stuck on my defiant.
I just completed the new temperal mission in the azura nebula. When I came out of it all my assigned bridge officers where gone and I cannot re-assign them. What now?

Have treid everything in this thread, nothings working. Can also not unassign bridge officers from my old ship. Got a new bridge officer and they sloted then I could assign the officer I wanted but that only worked for one station, now I can't use new bridge officer either. Never had this happen to me before.

try swaping another boff in then swap back I had that issue before
Very annoying after changing ship for the first time in a long time.
