    All week long....

Rainbow/Technicolor beams and Skittle cannons, all of whom think they absolutely must camp at the Kang, none of whom have the DPS needed to protect the Kang.

That's how my CSNs have been going.

And no better with the ISNs...

Rainbow/Technicolor beams and Skittle cannons, none of which understand that the NANITE Spheres and Probes are more important to kill than regular Spheres AND none of whom have the DPS to even kill a NANITE Probe.

    Arrrgggg.... :(

one of my worst STF i had was when i had to do a full infected space pug match and at the start we attacked the cube and the spheres, everything looked fine in team chat i see one of the players speck about the ten % rule. as a player who is use to doing this stf i said "Understood 10%" as we head the the second Cube.

We take the cube down and we all pick a gen since there was 4 and i had to turn around i didn't get a target and what do i see, the same one who said 10% blew his gen, then trys to blame someone else namely me and i wasn't even in range of his gen. With my Fleet tactical escort retrofit (The defiant) I took down the rest of the gens and the transformer as this guy is like you guys suck and left the match.

I was shocked but kept the team running and we not only beat it in less the 20 mins we got the secondery goal and i got 2 new fleet members from that stf who was in his fleet. a day later i ran into him in another stf the same infected space and he starts saying he is reporting me for stealing his fleet members and i am the lowest form of person and yet her again blows his gen and leaves the match. This time i didn't get the secondery but i did get the match done in 20 mins. Missed the secondery by 1.30 seconds.

next time don't use autofire on an SFT.

edit: also that fleet mate stealing thing... :D however I did see lots of recruiting in STFs, I am approached quite frequently, after a round, if I wanna join to another fleet :)

worst stf ever in cure space elite.

hate the pug way of doing this...........OMFG DONT POP CUBES!!!!!!!!!!

best way that most people do it and faster is while team goes right, kills all nanites, 1 escourt shoots trash going for kang, comes back to group, pops first cube team goes mid, escourt kills trash on left coming for kang, back to mid kills mid, works on left gg kill carrier.

always use auto fire.......just dont forget to click to clear target so you stop shooting. can always have a target with auto on and still not fire weps till you hit space bar.

    Not possible.

It is an absolute must that 4 ships, preferably with Rainbow/Technicolor beams and/or Skittle cannons, camp at the Kang and do they darn tootin best to fail.

yes. it is a FACT that at larger than 5km distance from the Kang the incoming ships are invulnerable, and even after that, only concentrated fire from all weapontypes can hurt them

That kind of non-sense is exactly why, nowadays, in pugs I just pick a side nobody's going for and kill spawns and nanites, then let the other four figure out who kills what on the other two sides.

9 out of 10 times I still have to jump in and save the Kang from other-side spawns and/or get jumped by Raptor's and Negh'Vars running amok with a field of spaceship debris behind them.

Just the other day I was doing this, killed everything but the cube on my side, the Raptor and Negh from the middle, after they had stomped over 3 of my team mates, and then looked around at how the other ones were doing. Turned out that, between the four of them, they had taken out 3 nanites in the middle and 1 on the far side... Truth be told, I'm surprised we pulled that one off, eventually, considering the time 3 of these guys were spending in respawn oblivion. Another decent player and me ended up doing all the work, with the other 3 just aggroing cubes and blowing up, every once in a while.

When one of the respawners noticed that I had cleared nanites on my side, he immediately started shooting at the cube. I warned him not to blow it yet, he didn't listen. I needn't have worried: by the time the other player and me had cleared the remaining 9-10 nanites, resulting spawns and one cube, he was still shooting at that one cube :P

I'm pretty sure one of these guys missed his loot drop because he died at the carrier and had to bite a maxed out respawn timer.

These past few days I collected material for a lot of stories to tell, all are from PuGs.

    1. After a personal best pug at ISE (with 9:20-9:30 left on the clock), I jumped to KASE. A beam Mirror patrol escort and a cat carrier took probe duty. The other two...I don't even remember what they were, cause they did nothing...and I mean it. The whole time I had to zig-zag through the entire map in order to kill all the cubes and transformers...those two I'll remember for a long time - I've rarely seen such clueless players.
    2. ISE - after we blow the first cube, one player excuses himself and leaves (it happens - real life is more important than a game). Early pop of a transformer and we struggled to keep the optional. Moved to the right - the same person blew it again and someone bailed out. after a minute we received a reinforsment and we're 4 again. after we cleared the speres and the transformer, i noticed, that the popper was actually in a T3 Defiant....at that point I was on the brink to rage-quit. Anyway, this STF took a good 25 minutes.
    3. CSE - usually I wait to see who goes where - one to the left, two to the center and one to the right....ok, IGI to the right. I start doing my things (meaning, destroying the bottom probes in one go and evasive when I'm done) and I see one of those on the centre came and started shooting at the top roll - my favourite - "When I can't do anything, I'll go with the pack and it would seem that I actually o something". And so on.....

I've seen that twice and they were pretty recent, too.

ISE: We went left, 1 maggot went right and blew a gen before quitting,

KASE: The right-side probe "guard" repulsed a probe INTO the vortex.

These aren't "STFs" but they are in the PvE que.

Fleet mark missions. The worst noobs in the galaxy are in those. I went into a starbase fleet defense with my Fleetmate. The other three ships all had technicolor beams/exploding bags of skittles. And their damage was about 0.

Needless to say, we failed. Horribly.

Then on Starbase Incursion (the one with the saboteurs... we were on the second part, where you have to defeat lots of enemy soldiers to get to one saboteur) we had 2 noobs run off (after my buddy and I repeatedly said "Follow us, follow us,") and aggro like, 2 other sections. That was about 20 enemy NPCs clustered in a doorway. Yeah. Fun times. That mission was a complete bust.

Starbase Blockade (defend the freighters!) My buddy and I say "You three go together, we will go find the other group." What happens? One guy runs off by himself. The other two follow us. Talk about another waste of time.

And these missions happened back to back. I nearly threw the computer monitor across the room, I was so frustrated.

actually i like the t3 defiant from c-store. the bo lay out is very nice. you get to have epts 1 x2 with an rsp. if you know how to handle a ship its not a problem.

i have done the obj in cure space elite in the kirk ship. i did get poped alot but not as badly as some of these guys running around va or lock box ships......sad but true

if im looking to get it over with fast i will jump into my bug ship. ofc it can take more hits, but dont pass up the t3 c-store defiant. it has the lay out the va c-store defiant should have had.

besides if your that hard up on the hull hp just use some juvnite. and fleet shields.

i swear tho, its suppost to be elite stf but its really just a joke. i guess the reason it is elite stf is because people that dont know how to make a build or fly a ship goes in and makes it take an hour to play.

good example is just did cure elite, pop first cube, guy says why pop first cube mid isent even done....really wtf? since when do you have to clear mid was my first thought. then i looked around and nothing was really done. wtf was the other 4 guys doing? i had to solo a dock on my own. i died 2 times. did not see plasma balls.

but when you have 4 guys and nothing is cleared it really makes you wonder. few people told me join elite stf but i never will. maybe i should not group thoes guys, but i ran with a few of them and would never do it again. i dont like being told this is for elite stf guys bla bla bla you suck. so what happened? yeah i did a 2v1 on these guys and pwned them both just to be told well this is pvp not pve. so this dont count............

if 2 people cant kill 1 bug ship and they both die what makes them think they are "elite"

    @broken1981:

The way You describe Your recent CSE experience, I cannot help but wonder if You were lacking some situational awareness? Yes, You did clear the Nanites below a single (middle) cube and the cube all by Yourself while four players where unable to do the same within the same amount of time. As the mission had not failed, I can only assume the Kang was still alive at that point. So kudos for having a decent DPS build.

The question comes to mind: why did You choose to destroy the middle cube before taking a look at the other cubes and how the players where doing there?

Situations like that is why I personally prefer to do the mrrmll-tactic in a PUG - You get the combined firepower of four players and can see if someone is not really adding much to it and it takes a lot less of coordination. If a player is not really pulling his weight (DPS being king nowadays) You can still remedy that as You are there - while only one player has to keep the Kang clear from two sides. Less of a hassle.

sorry if i was a bit miss leading in my post, i cleared right, poped first cube when a pug said why did you pop cube when mid is not cleared. i knew i was doing a solo but assumed the pugs were doing stuff. not really sure what they had done. a nanite was missing from mid (just 1 mind you) dont know what left looked like.

its kinda hard to get pugs to form as a group since they seem to always spread out. this is why i will always pop first cube even if the pugs cant handle it, i try to force them into team work win lose hope they learn from it.

im always told i suck since i do blow up. i dont run from a battle like most pugs will. i dont bother to use armor consoles and if i do its still 1 neutrioum. hard core pve'ers will gear up to guard from plasma. i just choose to fly smart, use my buffs according to whats going on and keep pushing. with no armor consoles i can solo a tact cube end of infected to around 50%. if the group is not done with the gate i just might pop. most times i do get help from that point foward and maybe get an et from a random tact. (thats always lol)

this is my build, its what i use for pvp. stf is only for omega marks for rep lol.
    http://www.stoacademy.com/tools/skillplanner/index.php?build=pvp1234_0

side note, the t5 skill seems not to boost crits, if it is its around an extra 1.9%. not going to see that when you have 2 rom bo boosting crits, tact lobi console, zero point, borg console.

i use omega deflector, engines, maco sheild, mk11 phaser dhc accx3 as well as same mods on turrent. pure cannon ship no mines no torps.

    There I was...

    CSN...

Didn't have time to say HI, had to get something to drink.

Everything goes good, kill the cubes with almost 6 minutes to spare.

A Klink was protecting the Kang and the other four all ganged up on the cubes.

Even the Rainbow/Technicolor guy does OK. (Very Rare)

The Carrier dies quick and easy.

Everythings good and we gather the loot.

    I type "GG"

The Klink says "GG, Are you kidding me?"

I say, 'Yep, even the technicolor guy did OK.'

The Klink says, "I was the one watching the ship."

I say, "So? It should only take one."

    He pugs out...

I guess he though it should take 4 to protect the Kang. LOL

I don't bother looking at player profiles since S7 broke them and often the info there is either missing or incorrect. I don't really mind bailing out after a prolonged STF witn no end in sight.

broken1981 - when I say a T3, it means a regular (free) T3 tactical escort. I have T3 Sao Paolo, with a good equipment, in a good team and capable hands, it'll do fine(even the whole team can run those T3 escorts). But the problem here was in the device between the LCD display and the chair.
We were 4 to begin with. I couldn't help but notice that someone was dying way too frequently, and that's when i decidet to take a look at his ship. I mean, ISE could be done with 3 players, no question about it. But I'm a team player - I chose the right moment to GW the pack of spheres and SS them. If at least one player with good DPS is paying attention, the pack is gone within 15 seconds, but that wasn't the case. And most of the time, the problem is that the players don't pay attention to their surroundings and go do whatever they think is right.
For me it's obvious that when the pack starts moving toward us and someone GW them, you should ignore the two spheres warping out above the transformer and start shooting the pack, but that rarely happens.

All that said, I'm not some kind of exceptional player - my DPS is average at best. But I do something most of the player base doesn't - whenever I can, I point my camera to the teammates.

Almost all you guys complain about epic space fails. But my worst stf experience happened on the ground definitely. You have players with bad skills setups they don't use they kits, dont use any hypos or shield charges or whatever device, they dont use borg F remodulators or they use them but dont see or care if the borg have adapted, they dont use the chat, wont respond to private messages which makes that bip sound, they dont care what the group does they are in they own world totally without any skills of observation! And when this happens I usually call them trolls :) so then they partially react and there are three possible things that can happen:

    1. so they know how to use the chat and the insults start ;)
    2. they are wrongfully provoked and and leave the game without a word
    3. they keep on trolling LOL

Or I get reported to the GM, and I like the irony of that soo much :P

I dont need the optional, and I don't play stf because of that, all I wanna is to finish the game kill some mindless drones! But instead I'm trapped with mindless humans which don't know what teamwork is they just do they trololo......

This is not my "worst" but more to show the state of affairs..........

I answer PESTF for ISE, jump in, long story short, finish everything in time.....
Afterword one of the players jumps on the PESTF channel b****ing that their ship sucks....
(Spent a sizable amount of time dead, not fixing injuries)....so I say some smart-*** comment to the effect of "...fix your ship and you won't die so much.". Anyway I offer the person some advice, the individual is somewhat unreceptive. Then somewhere in the conversation I ask to see this person's load-out ...... 'ho boy......ALL torpedoes, and mines.....every. weapon. slot. Plus stuff like bio-function monitors.....to top it off it was all common too.....
So...after calmly explaining why you shouldn't do that the person was vaguely receptive. This individual was whining that the Shield Amp was 1 Mil EC, so I was feeling generous and tried to give this person some equip that I wasn't using......[ May or may not have been useful, this person could have burned it for all I care...]...they Refuse my Kindness.....ok:confused:......After a series of questions I determined that this individual has no clue how the game mechanics work, and what's worse didn't care to learn. :mad:I was just stunned, this person could not comprehend why running all torps and mines in an ESTF(any of 'em) is 'prolly not a good idea. The bizare thing was this person would type things that would indicate that this person knew better. This individual would act like a know-it-all then do/say something completely opposite of what an experienced player ought to know.......

This was from the PESTF Channel......this individual was running in Elite STFs........ with all common torps and mines......in all weapon slots......[I'll 'prolly get flamed by somebody saying "equipment isn't everything!!"...which in the right hands, ok, not the point.]....I just, I dunno...pffft....whatever......I 'prolly got trolled........

Don't feed the trolls! It makes them come back for more!

It's ok, I had a horrible CSE a few days ago. Was bored, so hopped on my Imperial on my Tac (yes, a tac in a cruiser, even though I have a fleet defiant... but hey, boredom is boredom XD), and joined up with a group on one of the STF channels. We enter the CSE, and I sigh as I see the team comp. All science captains (not a bad part), all of them in Odysseys (still not that bad). So I figure, eh, this will just take a while. We all head towards mid except for the guy on guard duty, who I am happy to see immediately chevron seps and starts heading towards the left BoPs. I am also happy to see him running a full single cannon-turret build. Sufficed to say, I safely ignore him for the rest of the match since he just slaughters everything.

But at mid cube... the first thing I see... is the other 3 hit BFAW. HERP. A. DERP. I just focus down the nanites one by one with my imperial, and then the insults start rolling in as they realize I am a tac captain. "Where's your escort, why you in a cruiser..." blah blah blah. I just ignore it and keep on shooting. First oddy drops literally seconds in. Apparently mama cube doesn't like being shot. She drops two of the Oddys before I manage to take down the bottom row, and then I take out one of the top row nanites and move into position to take out the Neggy. Oddy #3 has started it's BFAW stupidity again, and the Cube just kills it. The Neggy has de-cloaked at this point, and I am blasting it from the sides and rear, with FOMM and APA3 going. It drops in about 20 seconds, after which I then take down the raptor and finish off both the nanites. By now I noticed the cube was giving me a little more love than before, and I realized that the Oddys had ditched me and were attacking the left cube. So I finished off the nanites and moved over there, on fire and under attack, but still fine.

Meanwhile on Kang... yeah... nothing going on, the cannon Oddy is doing fine. Kudos to that guy.

At left... well as you can imagine, BFAW again, Oddys popping left and right... take out the nanites on bottom, and then one on top... and then the hilarity of watching all 3 Oddys destroyed by a single iso charge. Rinse and repeat... take out the Neggy and raptor (all 3 Oddys are dead at this point) and finish off the nanites, and start on the Cube. Drop it in about a minute (blew my APA3 and FOMM, so my overall damage output was lowered). I then head mid... and to my horror I see the 3 Oddys have respawned... AND ARE GOING RIGHT. I call the Kang Oddy over, and we manage to kill the 3 raptors in mid before they touch the Kang, and he rushes back over to right where the 3 morons are having trouble stopping the raptors coming from that direction. Then after the raptors drop, let the BFAW commence once more... I kill the mid cube, takes about 40 seconds (APA3 off cd), and head towards right as the Neggys spawn... and guess what... the morons don't fire on them, they keep on shooting at the nanites.

So it's just me and Kang guard firing on these Neggys, we drop them in about a minute and a half (that guy had pretty good DPS for a Sci-Cruiser), and meanwhile... yeah... in the space it took me to kill the cube, and it took for the two of us to down 3 Neggys... only one... ONE nanite has been destroyed. And two of the Oddys are already dead. So Kang Oddy and I down the last bottom nanites in literally SECONDS and take out a top nanite. Neggy spawns, decides it doesn't like me, hits me with an Iso charge which bounces and kills Oddy #3, and then I kill the Neggy. Kang Oddy kills off the raptor while I finish off the nanites, and then Kang Oddy drops a gravity well to stop the respawning Neggys from moving too far, then we finish off the last cube in the space of about 30 seconds (FOMM was off CD).

Meanwhile, the other two Oddys FINALLY respawn, and then they run over to kang and hail it. We get the opt with literally SECONDS left... (8 I believe), and then the carrier spawns. I get the amusement of watching them horribly time their BFAWs and the BoPs that spawn demolished all 3 of them at least once. Meanwhile myself and Kang Oddy were just pounding the carrier down. Took about 3 minutes, but the bugger finally dropped. After carrier go boom, I say "GG", and the mockery begins again. Should be noted, I never died, nor did Kang Oddy.

Later in the channel I saw the 3 stooges discussing their builds, and almost fell over laughing. They were running 8 beams each, and it was a rainbow technicolor mania. The hilarious part: all 3 were running the full Oddy set, and yet not once did I see a single aquarius nor a single chevron (other than Kang Oddy) that entire match. And it gets better: all of them were running the OPs Oddy and all of them were using power boosting consoles. And they had put each Uni console in it's area (I.E. Aquarius in a tac slot, Chevron in an engi slot, Bees in a sci slot). Sufficed to say, I was laughing for the next 10 minutes as they commented that Kang Oddy and I had been noobs and didn't know what we were doing.

    Trolls? Possibly. Idiots? More likely.

estf channel is a joke. sorry to group all you guys but from what ive seen it deems true

man i did love your post tho. and this is what i see. the last run i did with elite stf jokers was i was with a fleet mate. they asked me if i ever did this before. ofc i said no im a ground stf guy. (had all 2 stf sets in my inv mk12 i might add) so i was using full borg. they were trying to explain infected elite and how it play out. i decided to troll them. well we blew up first small gate then went after the second small gate.

for what ever reason i have no clue my fleet mate on ts tell me look in team chat. lmao the 3 jokers started to try to abuse my sci catbox saying how much of a noob i am and i should stick to ground. lmao? i did get mad and said im carryingall 3 of you clowns. lol they could not stay alive. i was over working my healing. well these guys on escourts had et. wtf? so clown 1 decides to use et then gets assimilated. well i had to give up my only tt copy over and over to these jokers and my fleet mate had to cover me with his.

yeah we understand team play. well the jokers got me so mad at being called noob i flashed both mk12 space sets. so they told me i was carried and thats how i got them. well lets just say after that they never got a heal from me and all they saw was the respwn timer lol

Depends which channel. There are about a dozen of them. And I know a few that are jokes, and a few that are legit. Naturally if I go into a queue with guys from the joke channel, either I prepare to carry hard, or I prepare to fail. Regardless, I still have fun XD.

ahh ok, i thought there was just 1. the main one everyone goes on about. when i was with risa i would do it with thoes guys. but mostly i pug it. with FES all we mostly do is ground since each run takes around 6-7 mins tops. but we do space as well. speed runs tho would always be ground and the whole team uses swords.

even last room in infected we use swords. tho just watch out since you hack at the queen you can end up in the water from the lung part of it. but yeah being in FES has made me enjoy ground alot. i used to hate it and to be honest it used to be very hard. i was always a space person. and also using swords is very fun hahaha
