I just mentioned it because Steam puts the games you download from there in its own directory subtree, which would explain why the default folder is not working for you.

Thank you for the help though, it's getting frustrating trying to bind an entire row to a key and only getting four spaces.
I solved my Keybinding issues...now I can do the entire first row of my abilities with two keys. The problem is how can I get Shield Distribution onto a keybind?
cliftona91, If you are looking for the file as a .txt file using notepad, you won't find it. STO doesn't save the bindfile with an extension. If you use windows explorer, you should be able to find it in the "Live" folder with the name used.
You can also use the .txt extension when saving to assist further:
/bind_save_file filename.txt
RE Shield Distribution
+power_exec Distribute_Shields
this will cause your shield to be EVENLY distributed amongst all four facings.
I have tried to /bind_save_file <filename>.txt and nothing is saved anywhere. I don't get a response from the system saying it was successful. Also, my screenshots are not being saved anymore. Can anyone help?
Id like to say that the order of which Ability is popped first is totally random and putting the first priority ability that needs to be popped at the last part of the keybind sentence it doesnt work all the time if ever.
its all random and u cannot rely on it thats why Rapid fire 3+2 on a spacebar ram bind isnt really that optimal at all...
Ok I'm new to the whole Keybind and all of this looks like gibberish... It was a sort of shock I guess.
What I'm asking for is to be able to my 4 EPtXs skills, balance shields, and fire weapons all on the Space Bar. If anyone can assist me in this, it would be so ever loving awesome! Start slow and move to the hard stuff :P

I'm quite good clicker and on PuG healer the speed of activating healse is not that important but I thought I try keybinds. And now I think I'm some illeterate jerk, because I cannot get them to work.
I want to cycle EPtSes and set them to Q. I have the set on 00 and 01. I do this:
/bind Q +trayexecbytray 0 0 $$+trayexecbytray 0 1
If I got it right it should fire the EPtS on 01 first, wait till the shared CD is over, fire the one on 00, wait, fire 01, 00, 01... Something like this, right?
Now it is working in some way. It does fire the EPtS on 01, waits till the shared CD is over, fires the one on 00... and stops until all CD on both EPtS are down and fires again only when BOTH EPtS are available. What the hell am I doing wrong?

It depends on where you place your powers for activation but a key bind for such is easy to do.
You merely need to be able to say where your (4) EPTSx powers are on the three trays and add the extre shields and fire commands
so, here is the deal, i try to get people into pvp, and keep them situationaly minded.
pls consider this:
you have 4 power settings that maximize any particular power, or anything your ship needs to do right?
how about having 4 keybinds that use those powers when you are in any given focus....
1 bind you always have running.... you press it the most. it fires weapons and distributes shields.
the other 3 look like this....
1: offense.....high weapons and engine power.....and binds all of your offensive weapons
2: defensive....... high shields and engines....and binds all of your self preserving abilities
3: agility/support........high aux and engines.....and binds all of your assist powers.
this list is not all inclusive. this is just a thought pattern that will get you VERY accostomed to maximizing any ship or build so you can make adjustments based on piloting style and in-game system changes.
These abilities in tray 8 are connected to your team mate selecting buttons, the F buttons. Normally, you select yourself by pressing F1 and your first team mate by F2 etc. In my opinion confusing, so I changed it to:
Yourself: Esc
First team mate: F1
Second team mate: F2
Third team mate: F3
Fourth team mate: F4
Its more natural. The 4 team mates together with the F buttons in the right order, and yourself easy accessible by hitting the top left corner button?
So summarized,
spacebar activates abilities in tray 7
F1,F2 F3,F4 , activates abilities in tray 8
escape activates abilities in tray 9
Few notes:
All buttons have also shield distribution. You need to hit the buttons a few times to activate all abilities. This is due to activation delays (usually 0.5 sec). The bind is designed such a way that the order of activation goes from the left to the right (thus tray 7.0, 7.1, 7.2 etc), so order your tray likewise.
Place the bind file in following directory: C:\Users\Public\Games\Cryptic Studios\Star Trek Online\Live (Or same cryptic directory in your program files)
Use following command to activate your bind by typing in your chat window: /bind_load_file healbind.txt
I have a problem that I reported on tribble but found it's way live with season 7. The game, for me, no longer seems to be able to differentiate between Enter and Numpad Enter. For 3 (?) years I've been using Enter for chatting and Numpad Enter for interacting but now I can't. It may not seem like much but it severely effects my flow.
I don't understand what happened, why, or how to fix it. Is there any way to get the game to treat these two different keys differently again?

Maybe the key designations have changed? Did you try { enter } for teh keyboard and { numpadenter } for the keypad?
Aye. I've unsuccessfully tried Enter, Numpad Enter, and numpadenter in my bind file. Even in the UI when I click Num Pad Enter it shows as Enter. It's like the game can't tell the difference between the two keys anymore.

The spacebar keybind can be a great stepping stone and I definitely found it very helpful when starting out as it lets you focus on getting the mechanics of piloting down, but as you get a better feel for things it can become limiting. As you get more familiar with your ship, the spacebar keybind is something that's good to try and move away from in favor of more focused keybinds. Execution order issues aside, binding too much to a key limits the extent to which you can time your abilities for maximum effect. It also makes it easy for your opponent to read where your cooldowns are and time their alphas for the weak points in your rotation. Also, as a general rule its good to avoid putting anything that can be cast on an ally in a spacebar keybind, having them there just makes them less likely to be available where and when they are need most.

I'm actually getting a controled sequencing on my latest keybind.
I have often thought that positioning of a command within a keybind and the interaction of CDs from duplicate powers within same keybind allows for a controled timing of when a power will activate within said keybind.
With this key bind I am able to activate commands in reverse order within the keybind and hit specific abilities in sequence.
So far its working perfectly as it hits t3s7(TT1) + t2s10(EPTA1) + t2s9(TSS2) + t2s5(ApO1) + t2s4(CRF3) + t2s3(HY2) + t2s2(ATB1) and finish the first pass with t3s9(Fomm) and thanks to CDs on duplicate powers its hits t2s8(TT1) + t2s7(TSS1) + t2s6(EPTS1) + t2s1(ATB1) on the second pass.
Once ATB1 procs the decreased cooldowns seem to fit right into the sequencing though it may also send the whole things off kilter randomly also. More testing is needed but it looks like key binds can be non-random in firing.
Actually, you can make a controlled sequence. My bind placed on previous page is designed such a way. Below explanation from STOWIKI:
There are two phases to using a compound keybind. Phase 1 occurs when you press the keybind button the first time. Phase 2 occurs when you press the button a second time within a short duration. Any repeated button pressing without a pause longer than 0.5 seconds will maintain Phase 2.
In Phase one the order is from left to right. In Phase 2 the order is from right to left. If you have a keybind that activates all the slots in tray 10, then pressing the button once will run ability in slot 1 and Que the ability in slot 2. If we press the button a second time with out a long pause between the first press, we will enter phase 2. If Slot 2 has not yet activated we will replace it in the Que with the ability in slot 10, and it will be next. Any repeated key presses of the same keybind with in a short duration will maintain phase 2 and Que items.
This feature can be used to create a fail safe Que order. Creating a mirror of a command will allow the priority to be fixed.
A standard command activating the full tray 10 using the keybind import file method would appear as follows:
numpad0 "+TrayExecByTray 9 0 $$ +TrayExecByTray 9 1 $$ +TrayExecByTray 9 2 $$ +TrayExecByTray 9 3 $$+TrayExecByTray 9 4 $$ +TrayExecByTray 9 5 $$ +TrayExecByTray 9 6 $$ +TrayExecByTray 9 7 $$+TrayExecByTray 9 8 $$ +TrayExecByTray 9 9"
The keyset is assigned to the numerical keypad's 0 key. If we create a mirror set of this key we can ensure that the priority will always be given to the abilities in the lower slots.
numpad0 "+TrayExecByTray 9 0$$+TrayExecByTray 9 1$$+TrayExecByTray 9 2$$+TrayExecByTray 9 3$$+TrayExecByTray 9 4$$+TrayExecByTray 9 5$$+TrayExecByTray 9 6$$+TrayExecByTray 9 7$$+TrayExecByTray 9 8$$+TrayExecByTray 9 9$$+TrayExecByTray 9 8$$+TrayExecByTray 9 7$$+TrayExecByTray 9 6$$+TrayExecByTray 9 5$$+TrayExecByTray 9 4$$+TrayExecByTray 9 3$$+TrayExecByTray 9 2$$+TrayExecByTray 9 1$$+TrayExecByTray 9 0"
In this set we are listing all the slots from slot 1 through slot 10 and then back to slot 1 again. If we do this then in Phase 1 Slot 1 will get first priority since it is listed first. In Phase 2 Slot 1 will get first priority again since it is listed last.
This is an important feature since it allows you to prioritize your abilities. Those in lower slots receive priority. Using this method will allow you to setup a complex chain of buffs, debuffs, and attacks that might require a specific order. Or it may allow you to maintain abilities that you would like to keep up at all times.
Is their a way to set up two commands on the same bind, but only have one go off if the other does as well. I have FOMM and a team message saying FOMM $target. I would prefer not spamming my team any more than necessary when I hit that bind and it's not ready to go for another second or two... then they get to hear it again.

Download the bind at: http://upload.ugm.ac.id/498healbind.txt
So, in this "heal" bind, fill tray 7 with power and offensive abilities you want to cycle.
Tray 8, fill with team heals, like ES, TSS, APD, HE etc
Tray 9, fill with self heals, like evasive, BFI, PH, ramming speed.. but also TT, TSS, APD etc (the team heals)
