If anything, I'm getting even more "Server Not Responding" messages/outright disconnects than yesterday.

I'm having this problem as well. When it comes to hardware I'm competely illiterate and just can't do it.

I find abhorrent that Cryptic/PWE have released Season 7 with so many bugs and glitches- essentially rendering the game utterly unplayable for a large number of players. I find even more disgusting that they have failed to act on the problem with today's patch update. It is apalling and insulting customer service and I find it very disturbing that non of the devs have even commented on the situation. Disgraceful.

I for one am seriously considering stopping playing this game.

After two days of not getting past the loading screen, i tonigh unistalled the game and re-installed direct from the sto site. I'm glad to report i have successfully logged in. I'll post updates of how i get on, i.e if i suffer crashes during gameplay etc.

Here guys, give this a try. Looking at the error from the log, theres a conflict between the Direct X calls the game is making and your system not interpreting them right.

    Good Luck!

(P.S. Make sure to RE-Install your graphic driver after updating)

Are you sure it will work?

As I will continue to do so both to prevent this topic from falling into Page 2 or lower territory until this gets looked into.

Same thing here. I rarely get ANYTHING other than the "Your graphics card stopped responding and has recovered" message.

I have yet to see ONE actual error message from my graphics card. Most of the time this crash results in a full system hang that requires a full reboot.

Reinstall / Verify graphics driver ... check
Uninstall / Reinstall STO ... Check

As this is something that has only happened since S7 went live, it stands to reason that this is a failure on Cryptic's end, in the actual code of the game.

Too bad the devs ignore the forums most of the time.

Btw, here are the links to two other threads on this exact same topic.

    Constant Crashing - http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=447271&page=2

    Graphics Issues - http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=445601

If we complain enough, we may possibly see a fix to this sometime soon. However, I'm not holding my breath.

same here...never ever had a problem on my machine...could play it for hours...but since S7...wierd graphics and the game crashes. No issues with other graphic heavy games.

    BUT

i managed to minimize the crashes. I noticed that if you play in fullscreen and not in maximized window the game crashes are almost gone. Oh and reinstalling the DX9 helped also.

Another thing is, the game worked fine with TriDef before the patch...now there are also wierd graphics/shadows/double pictures if you turn it on. I would post screenshots but a soon as i hit the print button, the game crashes.

    cheers

Well at least some of you might count yourselves lucky, the bug I've been getting is one where I can play for about two or three minutes before the laptop just shuts itself down.

Don't know if this will help at all...

I'll get maybe 40%, 45% through the loading screen when I get BSOD'd.
I'm running dual Nvidia Geforce GTX 295's, but not in SLI. I've tried the latest release and beta drivers. Dxdiag doesn't show anything but using BlueScreenView, the Windows dump files all have these three drivers highlighted (followed by address in stack)

    dxgkrnl.sys (+5d000)
    dxgmms1.sys (+ff07)
    nvlddmkm.sys (+14ba88)

BSV says for each dump file that dxgkrnl.sys is responsible for the crash, however, the BSOD mentions nvlddmkm.sys.

Only just started playing yesterday and phaser wasn't working properly, when I tried again today it was working fine until I finished the tutorial on the Khitomer, now I keep getting the BSOD.

Specs are almost identical to OP.

    Windows 7 Home Premium
    Service Pack 1

    Manufacturer: Acer
    Model: Aspire X3950
Processor: Intel Core i3 CPU 530
    @2.93GHz 2.93 GHz
    Installed Memory: 4.00 GB

    System Type 64-bit Operating System

    Intel Integrated HD Graphics

Also, I'm running the game through Steam, if that helps.

    I installed the following Drivers:

I am no longer experiencing any issues, everything is running very well. I don't know if this will help others, but It helped me, so I figured I'd post it.

After nearly a week of this happening I've about had enough with STO.

fixed my problems maybe with season 7 the bug came back.

got no help in forums and was told me machine sucks but if it can handle cyrsis on max setting it can handle little sto
