I think this is a strong possibility, except in my mind they ALSO loose a lot of time working in systems that then get abandoned, and instead of 3 or 4 I'm thinking 8 or so, but really the effect is so minor it may as well actually be ONE very skilled person that is actually doing it all. But yeah, their most common excuse for anything not getting done is "its too hard" or "it'd take too long". Try telling that to any client next time they ask something of you, be sure to say it with sincerity too lol
Am I the only one actively wanting NWN to fail? I loved the original but i doubt Cryptic would actually give content creators the freedom to do whatever they want or grow it with mods. I can't help but feel its going to be substandart compared to the original, its goign to cost more, and its all going to be tied to cryptic so no hosting content elsewhere, and worse its stunting the growth of CO and STO.
Oh Im sure if you spend enough (Zeni) you'll be able to have 40 diff. random races and 100's of customizing options, and the latest OP P2W magic sword that looks strangely similar to a Klingon batleth. But when you finally get past the character generator you'll only have a couple days worth of content, with no pvp, no end game and absolutely nothing to do. AND just like STO and CO there will be no plans to ever add anything either. :rolleyes:
1.) I strongly believe there are only 3 or 4 devs working on this game to keep the servers running...and even then, only during off time from NWN. I do not think there are any devs working on content until the very last minute when they rush something out the week before.
2.) Licensing.... getting licenses for these ships and races often involves multiple parties and layers of copyrights and sometimes even royalties to actors, designers and writers. So even if Cryptic DID care about STO they still would have to cut through a lot of red tape and wait quite awhile for some of these things.
All in all I personally don't believe Cryptic cares enough about the IP or anything Star Trek in general to go through the effort to acquire anything additional that involves a considerable amount of effort.

Neverwinter, oh boy another medieval mmo with magic. I really wish PWE would put more effort into STO. It may not be the greatest game created but at least it's fun and original. As far as KDF ships go. I want more too. Their excuse is the % of people that play KDF compared to Federation. While I understand it from a business point of view. They need to realize if they gave us a full fledged faction, more ships, and added more races to this side. They would make us happier and they would help the game and create more revenue.
It's not ship envy. There are plenty of ships in this game as it is. It's that the Feds whine and cry for new ones all the time, and they get them. It's not just ships either. Meanwhile, the KDF doesn't even have the basic gameplay elements in place to actually enjoy using the ships they do have.
It's frustrating because some people enjoy the KDF playstyle, but have nothing to do in-game. But I guess a fed-centric player would not understand that.
I think I am pretty reasonable. All I want is the following:
- KDF-only content to carry us from level 1 to 20, then what we have from there is fine IMO.
- Open PVP in certain sector blocks
- Continue developing stuff for the feds, but throw the KDF at least a small bone with every fed-centric release
Do those things, and KDF will be fine in my book. Not on par with the feds, but that is fine with me. Yeah, the feds are the biggest portion of players. Just make it look like you made an effort with the KDF.

Let us imagine a hypothetical scenario. Let's imagine that the Romulan Star Empire has been added as, say, a level 40-50 faction. However, Cryptic made some unique stuff for it.
Just as the feds constantly demand KDF unique stuff, the feds AND the KDF will demand RSE unique stuff. It's perfectly logical to expect that response.
Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.
And do you know what I see when I come to the federation forums? The same thing as everywhere else, only I <a klingon player> dont go to the federation gameplay/shipyard section just to start petty fights and start calling ppl names. I got enough of that in kindergarten.

You guys had like 3 new streak for federation ships. First the carrier, then the stalker, now another carrier? ARE YOU MAD (as in why only feds)? KDF's newest ships are the Bortasqu' when the Odysses came out. Anyways, federation has more in every subjet than KDF. I dont know if it because they start at lvl 20 or something but its not really equaly fair and somewhat macthed with all the weps they are allowed to use now... powerful ones at that. Also, The Federation has like 20 costumes and Klingons only have 1 (I mean I can understand it a little but there are diffrent races in KDF). PLus, kdf has low amount of species but I guess thats fine due to the fact that races have to JOIN kdf you cant really make some up. I tried my best to say what I needed to say and ill go from that. I am mixed emotions right now. :mad: :eek:
P.S With Costumes, I mean for Special Buyable ones. Even without counting those... federation has more.
BTW: If akwardly I meet a KDF online, im Ela'kshish (NOT full name)
lol if feds carrier gets a 2nd hanger i think we KDF should get 4 hanger bays on are carriers..lol wishful thinking
The Al guy (head of ships at Cryptic (or PWE whatever it is now)) said that there will be more KDF ships just not as many as FED since they don't sell well. We Honorable Warriors do have a lot of new Fleet ships though.:o
