On the vanishingly small chance Levi isn't a troll (and for the benefit of someone who might think he makes sense), the problem is a vicious circle.
One side has less stuff and has obstacles for entry. So fewer people play it. So you put less money and development in it. So even fewer people play it. Rinse, repeat.
The only way to break that cycle is either give up on the faction altogether or focus most of your energies into growing both factions.
I think the least they could do to help matters is simply let people start as KDF from day 1, at level 25 or whatever they want, and see how much of a braking factor that has been.
It doesn't cost them any significant development time.
Overall, I don't care that much about a few ships. I mean, it's more the insult that they put in all this effort and clearly care this much more about Feds. On a practical level, one or two new ships isn't going to make a big difference, probably.
What really chaps my tuchus is all sorts of minor stuff, like costumes, where it wouldn't cost Cryptic a lot to give KDF more options. (I mean, seriously... mercenary outfit only Fed-wearable?)
while I do not often play as KDF I am inclinded to agree. KDF needs more and stop being ignored for new stuff. Feds need just a competitive edge in PvP. I think perhaps they are trying to stick to the diversity Starfleet has in ships and think that enough of each will show up in a PvP match which doesnt happen.
Yeah, I am going to chime in on the this is bad side.
See i was ok with the kitty carrier because it was for the most part an EXACT copy of the KDF 1st tier carrier.
Yeah it has different fighters but that's flavor mostly the same.
Now they have an escort that will have fighters!!! WTF!
Maybe it will be ok if it can only use the little Peregrine fighters... still if it can use anything else it will be just SO op. I can just see it now some of the fighters that the fed side have now are crazy good.
They can tell me blaw blaw blaw cstore. what I see is pay to win. That's the one thing that i can't stand.
Weeeell... ever heard of Sector 31 ANTKB? Fed/KDF fleet with several thousand members (scattered across several games, I believe.)
I see Section 31 in sector space. I'll look up if they take German players.
Bad think is that with teh Starabse thing Cryptic kills the small fleets which will never be able buy a Starbase.
The Fed side has become clearly pay to win, nothing else.
And the Devs keep catering to their dmeands. The Feds call it the Feds get it. That is how PW is making money, they milk the Feds for cash.
Your post, as well as the date of your sig disqualifies you from haveing the knowledge base on wich to judge disgruntled KDF players. Maybe had you played the game for some time, say a year and come back and asked some relevant questions, and tried to give informed opinions on the subject, well ok.
The KDF has been short changed since day one, as has PvP, i have decided not to play PvP myself but this is due to my being 50+ and haveing subpar eye/hand coordination due to old work injuries, and i fear letting teammates down.
Honestly you come off as a Blue Fanbois, who doesnt like Red, and wants any and all resources available for your Blue pet projects alone. Sorry but thats what it looks like to me.
LMAO. I believe the forums has given you the wrong pioster info and this was directed at levi3.
I've been here since 8 days into closed beta but bought my lifer well after that when I could afford it.
I've seen not just the birth of the KDF in STO but every day of lanquishing hope since then to the present day.
Now that I've looked closer at the ship stats... yeah, it's pretty BS to have a carrier with 15 turn rate, cannons, and tac focus.
I mean, wtf?
There are NO other ships in the game remotely like it.
I just got done blowing up Akiras (I mean Armitages) in Ker'rat. If the Feds want pay-to-win, they better get something much better than what they got, because what they have apparently doesn't cut it.
Let's put that ship in the hands of a KDF pilot now. THAT would be a sight to see. (Granted, you sorta can if you throw some Scorpion fighters in a BoP or Raptor's utility slot.)

I'd volunteer to be that KDF pilot, but without new stuff to do in it, I'm unable to justify the purchase - even if it is my favourite Fed ship.

im not speaking for Fed players but I have noticed the imbalence being posted on these forums. Fed players have way to many ships to choose from and more races, Klingons have less. Feds complain about PvP Klingons Brag about PvP I dunno perhaps this is a solution to fix PvP for the feds? Again im not speaking for every one out there just what I seem to notice a lot pop up on the boards.
Feds have better plot development, but doesn't KDF have more non-klingon ships than the Feds do UFP ships?
As for playable races, both have 'alien', which covers a wide variety either way.
It would be good if the KDF had more fashion options, but it would be good if both sides had more fashion options.

We used to have threads showing different uniforms that the Klingons have worn through the various shows and movies. Trenchcoats, sashes, and even Klingon female specific clothing (think of the Chancellor's successor / daughter in The Undiscovered Country). There's uniform items that Klingon NPCs have in STO that players can't use yet.

... have you ever looked?
I made, with 'alien' option, a human KDF member. He has maybe 1/5th the options of a human (or Alien) Fed.
Mercenary outfits, which no Federation officer should be wearing, are only wearable by Feds.
There are a slew of historic outfits for Feds that, minus combadge, would look great for various weird KDF types. (Section 31, for example)
It really bugs me, particularly since these are graphics that EXIST IN THE GAME. I realize they need to be remapped or something, but it's not like they have to be completely done from scratch.

Lol yes Roach this was meant for Levi, and Roach is correct, hes been around since dirt was new^^. Anyway you honorable warrior, you should know me better than that now^^. Qapla! Roach,

Yea i agree, this thing isn't over the top. Sometimes i just pop into Gamma O to blow up some borg and grab a few drops. Last night i did one of these with an Armitage jockie in zone, not sure how many items dropped, but i picked up up every one but one. guess my Fleet Escort isn't obsolete just yet.
Look at the face on his avatar picture, the hair is a public safety initiative, if he had a hair cut you might think him normal and you'd approach him, than when he turned around it's too late.

A flight deck escort is just too unbalanced.

Only the Kar'fi comes close with a LTC/LT tac focus and a turn rate of 7, and surpasses I think by having 2 hangar bays.

All I am saying
That will only be remedied by us with some well placed strikes.
Its very effective in such a case
Thank you Jeff.

I am not voicing any opinion on if they ever should have even had one, I am just saying that this new one should have been the only one.
Outside of all that, Feds have three new ships in a row. Time for some KDF love...
Well, Its hard to see from inside all the hair.... so I do get confused easily.:p
Then... get a haircut?

Besides he scares the Feddies like that.
