I had the following problems on the new Nukara Prime Map:
1.) I didn't have an EV-Suit, D-Store...
2.) After doing the 2 easy missions from the Basecamp Commander, I didn't find the way back to the Transporter Pad. Those should be marked on the map, or you could put some signs in that area.
3.) I finally decided to follow that "river"... Nobody told me that it is acid! I survived that bath and found a Transporter Pad.
4.) One should always respawn in a safe area, just in case that somebody deactivated the EV-Suit...
5.) The Basecamp is a bit too small and misses access to bank/mail...
6.) The Zone-Wide Mission to mine that crystals... You need to be protected by a team to mine that crystals, otherwise you are attacked.
7.) As an engineer I tried to build a small bunker, but everything except the mine-barrier was destroyed because of the atmosphere... Even my Horta died. Someone in the Zone-Chat mentioned: "It should be like a walk in the park for a Horta."

Also thanks for adding fleet marks to the event. this is exactly what i was hoping for for solo players.
When you die fighting the tholian project leader the respawn puts you in the interior map. i know that you are meant to spawn outside the instance but the other side of the whole map seems like its broken.
there are no tholian mobs anywhere to be seen on the medium part of the exterior map, so its quite easy to get around.
ive also seen at least 4 people ask how to get EV suits. Just for the ones who seem to have missed them in game you may want to add a EV suit vendor to the start area
1) Some of the missions, like "Red Shirts," are fun, however tedious some of the running around and repetition can be at times.
2) However, the crystal mining is a little over the top. First, the alignment cursor on the drill changes WAY too frequently, and resizing takes too long. Secondly, 375 crystals for a yield of 5 to 10 crystals per round of mining?! Sheesh; not that I already spend too much time playing STO and my other 'vice' games, now I will have to donate 2 to 3 of the 4 hours I play each day just to mining; so much for "Boldly Going Where No One Has Gone Before..."
The yield either needs to be higher or the drill adjusted to the point that we can get more out of each round of mining.
3) I never encountered a single Tholian, though I saw them once or twice in the distance: it was like they were only animated backdrops. I did not need to fire at nor even avoid a single alien.
4) There is some sort of glitch that will not allow you to equip your EV suit all of the time. I was getting either the message "You MUST equip an EV suit" and my transport was prohibited, or, the suit would activate, but the moment I was outside of the forcefield dome, I was on fire. It wasn't until I equipped, then quickly un- and then re-equipped the suit a couple of times that it worked. That was a lot of time spent to even begin the missions.
My input from the first couple of sorties into Tholian country...

Absolutely - several may have not had to pick up EV suits during regular game play yet. Also, 300k+ dilithium for a better quality EV suit that doesn't do much more that the used?! That's WAY too steep, chaps!
Ever thought about dropping the prices for those of us with only two kidneys to sell?

The Tholian shutdown codes can't be discarded! And with Close the Door being broken, there's no current way to get rid of them. I've lost 6 inventory slots to this... please fix?
I have to say, great, great job on the design. The Tholians look amazing, the sounds are spot on, and the interior base is really well made. Apart from a few bugs, loving it so far!
I was playing a fed and yet while doing redshirt everyone was a klingon and thanking me as a klingon would.
now i skimmed over the opening text so perhaps they were all meant to be klingon but i get the feeling the text should either be fed or klingon depending on your character or perhaps a mixture?
Ok bit of feedback, most already said but I will repeat.
- Everything an Engineer builds is destroyed within seconds by the fire. Perhaps this is deliberate but it feels rather unfair to us engi's who somewhat rely upon our gadgets!
- I did several of the missions outside ("Rescuing Redshirts" was one) and there were a distinct lack of Tholians around. . . most of the time I was running around completely unopposed.
- In the caves I noticed a few pathfinding issues with the Tholians, getting stuck trying to get through doors etc. . . but these where mostly minor and temporary glitches.
i love this tholian invasion. i like it much better than the defera nonsense. however, there's no count on how many shut down codes you need or tholians to kill on that assignment. i'm just running around in circles shooting tholians, freeing friends and collecting codes. haven't been able to close a single rift and i've collected tons of codes. another issue is how many item drops are being left behind when you kill a tholian maybe let the players know these are not just standard drops. there's some good stuff including codes. i've played for hours and haven't received the rewards yet are you waiting until the testing is over? the mining is silly. you need to collect 500 crystals and yet you get so little each time you mine the most i've got at once was 35 crystals and in some cases you are getting attacked while mining and it's taking forever to stop mining and fire back meanwhile your taking lots of damage. that's all i have for now. and i'll keep playing and leaving more feedback =/\=
Main problem was all the crashes that occurred while playing this event. Was able to finish the two easy missions with some lag, but after that could do absolutely nothing since I either enter the map with no way to interact with anything or get disconnected from the server.
ANyway, feedback is I tried the Cave System, got bored with having to question the trapped officers in 4 sections with questions that seemed stating the obvious.
Like the loot beacons - colour coded beams?
Map had a strange graphic in the corridor, the door on moving away looked like the bare rockface wall.
Used anesthezine gas on tholian - are they susceptible to it being crystalline lifeform?
Poor shard shadows, fried in 2 seconds!
Missions just seem a transposition of defera, collect, mine, hmm. I'm guessing this is a grinding map to complement the s6 episodes which I'm sure will have content in them.
Went to the base camps - couldn't close rifts, will try later, but again, just another grinding map. funny to watch the redshirts fall down haha. They say english and klingon greetings both at the same time.
Some feedback about the hard tholian leader mission. Other missions are really easy, maybe too easy, but this one isn't.
We've just spent 1h30 on it with a pug team, without any success, and I like to think that i'm not a terrible player since I can do most of the stfs without any major issues.
But this mission... It's a real challenge. Not because the boss is tough (he is but that's not a problem) but because we are constantly stunned/trapped/held. We can't use any ability, and even if we found a trick not to get dragged into the acid water, it's still very hard to do. We failed at it 6 or 7 times. We may use one ability and then, guess what? Trapped again.
We went on the podium to avoid being dragged, and we can stay here as long as we don't get killed because as a sci I can't heal anyone or tank or whatever i have to do. Futhermore, the podium is the only spot we've found but it's really hard to shoot from there.
We utterly failed at it, and I don't give up, i'll take my fleetmates with me later, but if we fail it means it's almost impossible for a pug team since we master easily all stfs.
I have no idea about the strategy we have to use : two teams in the cave? heavy hold resist abilities or equipment? But what can we do since we're stuck with those default suits we already have?
Also several issues : medics and clones die instantly. But don't forget the medics we get with the nurses via hypos, it looks they are greatly needed since I can't heal anyone.
I enjoy challenges, but I enjoy a lot more challenges I can play, there is not much fun if you're just constantly trapped in a net...
So here are some advices :
- make it easier to shoot from the podium. It's the only safe point and I'm sure it's intended but what if we can't shoot mobs?
- maybe give us some relief before two stuns, I'd like to be able to heal my team, shoot one or two times, etc.
Well, I'd like to be able to play the game, if you know what I mean. Why not a 10 seconds immunity to trap
when we got trapped once? It doesn't need to be nerfed, it's good to have some missions where you can't rush at melee range and kill quietly while hitting 1 like crazy, but it only needs to be made playable.
seems like my game is crashing whenever i alt+tab.. after the second time. i often do this to see who is on ventrilo. but it is getting kind of annoying and a error message popsup with not enough memory? i have 16gb ram here...
1.) I can't discard those crystals (I didn't get exactly the amount I needed to grind) or those codes for the second medium mission (outside, not "rescueing Redshirts").
2.) I've allready collected some EV-Suits, but not one time some freaking freeze gun... It would be nice if we could get at least these (allready ground) items on holodeck. In my case this would be a purple-quality EV-Suit and a Set-Shield.
3.) The only "not worthless" kit for an engineer seams to be enemy neutralization. Those Mines are nice to get the Tholians down...

I have to say I really like how the tholians turned out. Their combat abilities are interesting and sometimes even very surprising .
The detail you put into such things as their controls and equipment, like the rotating dice, are very nice and with that you gave them a unique touch, although the prison in the caves reminds me a bit too much of the holding facility of the last featured episodes.
I tried a few of the mission on the surface as well as in the caves, and I am totally aware that it is not the final version, but for example the medium missions on the surface seemed to be much easier as those in the caves.
The only bugs I encountered until yet were, that on the medium level in the caves while destroying the stolen components I sometimes couldn't get to the consoles which let me destroy the stolen pieces, it was as if i was running against a invisible wall, and after a few seconds it was gone agin.
Second, don't know if it really was a bug, in the underground prison, tholians sometimes seemed to enter a the control rooms by passing threw walls.
So thats all for now, I am really looking forward to the final version of this ground map.
Tholian movement is a bit glitchy. It could be a slight lag issue (though I've never had lag problems before) but it seems that the Tholians can't decide which way to go and their legs flicker in various directions while they decide.

crystal growths... anything... but please don't just turn them into lame Spiders, there is no precedent in Canon that Tholians would use Spiderwebs on the Ground.
I hope this is just some placeholder from some spider mob from NWN or CO and that STO Tholians get something a bit more unique.
tried with Jupiter Force fleeties to beat the [HARD] Boss Tholian... we failed like 8 times, then gave up.

Respawn after you getting killed by the Boss Tholian... spawns you in a strange place, you can't get back into the fight (like Infected Ground Boss room), and actually you have to run all the way back to base camp to beam to the site and get to the map again -> very confusing, ripping teams apart, i hope this is just a respawn bug.
raising the acid level... evil.... nice trick but evil ^^
if a team mate dies in the acid -> hard to revive
oh and DO NOT activate the flash light when you have the EVA suit on -> it will deactivate the suit. you will burn and die
general feedback -> i would love to have the STF XII Sets ( MACO / OMEGA / KHG ) available as EVA suit option, they all have Helmets, they are surely equipped for Hazardous enviroments if not for Space Combat too.
-> equipping EVA suit breaks the Set Bonus of STF Sets (obviously), not a big deal because the 3 Set Bonus is the instant remodulation power
New EVA suits with combat Boni are cool
but players who payed millions of Dilithium for the Ferengi Mining EVA Suits because of more pretty color options (not really more pretty, just different) will be SOOOO pi**ed now that they wasted their DIL ;P
good thing i didn't fall for that trap and just took the free orange one.
OK thats all the feedback i got after 2+ hours tribble testing.
PS: is Nukara Prime the Planet where Nuka Cola comes from?
Okay. Now I had the opportunity to test it. I think it is not exactly the most awesome mission to be added to the game. But it is fun and not bad. Also it is Tholians. And that is awesome. They are very well made and beautifull. Also, their attack is pretty nasty. And the cave interior is very pretty. Although I find odd they are using the same walls we see on facility 4028.
The major problem I saw is with the new armored EV suit that you receive by completing one mission. If you disable the visuals and enable the EVA mode to go outside the protected area, the costume displayed is the same of the EV suit from boldly they rode. If you want to show the new costume, you have to enable visuals. The problem then is that it always display you wearing the EV suit what generates confusion about if you are with EVA mode enabled or not. I died twice because I thought it was enabled while in fact it was not.
Also, the respawn points should be procted, so in case the player die by accidentally (or propositally ) taking out the EV suit it would not die immediatelly after respawn.

Thanks Cryptic for introducing the Kelvin Timeline. It remembered why I decided to never more put any money on this game.
I like these missions quite a lot. However, I do have a little nitpicking to do.
1) On the Easy interior mission where you interrogate the prisoners. The Tholians respawn way too quickly after killing them. When you enter the room the prisoners are in, and you're on the upper walkways, The Tholians charge at you and flank you from all angles. There could be up to 6 of them at a time.
Trying to draw them back to the smaller room you came from to try and gain a little advantage only adds to the problem, as there will be 2 more tholians after spawning there! (I had just killed those 2 about 2 minutes or less earlier! lol) This makes up to 8 Tholians to try and deal with at a time. I thought this was supposed to be a Single Player EASY Mission? lol.
2) The Zone Wide Mining Mission - Hmmm... I approached many, many Crystals and none of them would let me mine them. There were no prompts to start mining what-so-ever! Could this be because I picked the mission up at the same time I picked up another Exterior mission? I didn't attempt to start the mining until I had completed and turned in my previous mission.
3) When I beamed into Nukara Safe Zone for the very first time from my Ship, I seemed to catch fire for a brief second and lost a little health, which of course, I regained pretty quickly. This is nothing major but I just thought I'd point it out.
4) All my Engi pets such as Phaser Turrets, Medical Gens, Shield Gens etc., Fire up and die seconds after deployment.
5) As many others have said in this thread, The EV suits should be activated be default. I made the mistake of walking out of the safezone after equipping my suit and I got fried. The worst part was that when I respawned, I wasn't back at the seurity officer I went to speak to and neither was I back in the safe zone... Instead I was spawned near Alpha Site with my suit still inactive and under attack by a couple of tholians! I got lucky with quick suit activation and shooting wild at the 6 legged freaks, and just barely got out of it alive!
So basically, The respawn issue here for those who die due to suit not being activated needs to be fixed. Either that or make it so the suits are activated by default.
This is all I can recall for the moment as it was late last night when I stopped playing. If I remember anything else about last nights play or if I encounter anything else later I'll make a follow up post.
I'll end this post be simply saying, that apart from what I've reported above, I found the missions enjoyable. But I can see where others are coming from when they say that this could eventually become another "Grind Zone" that could become old, tedious and maybe a bit boring sooner or later. I hope there's more to come in S6 for our new 6 Legged friends.
+ GOOD:
* The Tholians look good
* The environment is interesting
- BAD:
* Combat is boring. The Tholians sometimes fire back, but it's clunky and slow and little fun.
* Grindy. Kill 250, bring 30, yeah well okay but see above, it's really boring!
* Dilithium Mining in a combat zone: Doesn't really fly. It has the annoying quality of integrating a so-so minigame into more missions and recyling it, but it doesn't fit here at all.
In general:
While there are potentially good parts like fighting the Tholian Commander and exploring the base this doesn't appeal to me at all.
-> I will be back to DOffing and ignore this like the Borg Defera stuff.
You must find a way to create more engaging ground content, this is so dull. It's dull from the very beginning and long term nobody will bother with that.
Please come up with something different for future ground activity hubs, really.
The yellow small group mission "Rescuing Redshirts" is a perfect solo mission, doesn't make sense to mark this as group mission as there simply is no need for a group for this mission. It's rather easy.
the starter mission, Hot Lead, only seems to pop up when you are already in Eta Eridani.
It should probably be available in the mission journal under available for everyone at first, just in case people dont go to eta. Otherwise its very easy to have no idea where the tholian missions are or that they even exist.
Like it so far. One thing I can report, got a Tholian Equipment Requisition - Advanced, but on using the box there was no reward, just disapeared from inventory.
(Let's see what's in the box... Nothing! You get Nothing!!)

Is making most engineer kits useless "by design" or an oversight?

Thanks for reading!
* The Tholians look good
* The environment is interesting
It should probably be available in the mission journal under available for everyone at first, just in case people dont go to eta. Otherwise its very easy to have no idea where the tholian missions are or that they even exist.
(Let's see what's in the box... Nothing! You get Nothing!!)
