Exterior: Industrial espionage
- if tholians jump into acid, you must jump after it to get the loot
- picking the loot using mouse click sometimes doesnt work on tholian loot
Hm, so far my impressions were mostly negative unfortunately. A lot has to do with bugs however.
- The environment looks awesome and really like that it takes place with HE suits. THis makes them more important and opens up another piece of ground equipment to chase after. Ground kits are currently way too limited in options so it's kinda boring gearing your character. So any extra piece we can try to optimize is a big plus in my opinion (when will we finally get helmets?)
- The crystal mining is a boring grind. How is it supposed to be fun? There is no rational explanation I can come up with. The dil mining event I can understand - there the reward is dilithium, one of the most precious commodities in the game. But why do I do it here? For 500 Exp? I don't know what the reward was supposed to be since I got bored with it too fast to finish it, but I sure hope it's not another green random loot bag.
- Plus getting yanked out of mining by respawning enemies you just killed 20 seconds before is extremely unfun as well
- The exterior medium mission seemed completely broken. There were no enemies at all in the area. I just rescued the guys in the crystals and that was it, no way to do anything that I could find with the access codes
- The Hard exterior mission is bugged as well. I could easily solo the boss. he grabbed me once at the start, afterwards he just stood there and did nothing. I could just shoot him down. I got a message telling me to exit the area in 60 seconds... after that nothing happened. The quest DID NOT trigger as finished.
By the way the loot the boss dropped was a green Mk XI minigun. Eh awesome... I hope the real loot was supposed to be given to me after handing in the quest at base camp.
I wonder what the rewards here are supposed to be. Considering there will be super strong perfect gear in fleet stores, there should be something unique to get here for there to be any motivation for players to do it. The environment suits are nice, but as long as this is the only combat zone you need them for they aren't really rewards. They just make the mission you just did to get them easier. And afterwards I do it again with the new suit because mining 500 crystals for Green Mk X weapons worth 1000 EC is so much fun? I wonder what Cryptic's plan is. Oh right we can get a few fleet marks. That's a start, but please. At least add a daily with a dilithium reward as added bonus.
1. medium dificulty surface is bugged. the missions where you need to shut down the phaze stablizers cuts out about half way though.
2. easy difficulty destroying the scanners. now im not sure if this is a design flaw or on perpous but you can not destroy the same node in the same spot twice you have to run around and find one you did not destroy. again not sure if this is on purpose or a flaw.
3. Hard dificulty. it is easy to solo the last boss but for some reason imposible to kill him if you have a 5 man team. and when you die you are put underground. not sure if the death spot is bugged or if you have it set there on purpose. as for the 5 man. the creatures spawn so fast that you cant even control a wave let alone kill a spacial anomaly.
this is all i have seen so far on the surface and will look into the underground later in the day
Actually kind of funny, but the random nurses beamed in by using a hypo spray with the Nurse Doff will instantly burn up.
But so will all engineering fabrications which is pretty big BS considering none of the other classes have any issues with the enviroment.
Also they are shielded. They shouldn't just blow up.
The mission closing door is broken. Not exactly sure how cause im not even sure what is supposed to happen. Only thing I know there's no way to progress in it.

The overall idea is great. I noticed that when you call in your security they do not servive even though they have on the suits. When you go into the caves you go all the way back to the elevator and I think you should go to the enterence were the person you can talk to is. Over all the concept is sound and it should be real fun.
When I first beamed down, I was offered 2 Zone Missions. One asking for 250 Crystals, another 500.
I should revise my post, but it was very frustrating to mine the crystals where there were Tholians about (mainly in the interior), because you got 15, maybe 20 crystals before the Tholians respawned and interupted your mining. Which made 500 rather crazy.
However, after I initially posted. I found that you could safely mine and get around 40-45 crystals per pop in the Medium Exterior area. Which made getting to 500 rather quickly (though still a boring grind). So not sure if they are going to add mobs in that area, or we will end up fighting other players to mine crystals. Which will make it a really frustrating mission to complete.
I was asked to get 337, which seemed like an odd number to me... I dropped the quest, I've never even counted that far up...
Cloaking generators break down at first sign of language.
Absolutely - several may have not had to pick up EV suits during regular game play yet. Also, 300k+ dilithium for a better quality EV suit that doesn't do much more that the used?! That's WAY too steep, chaps!
Ever thought about dropping the prices for those of us with only two kidneys to sell?
The more expensive EV suits at the store in Beta Ursae are just Bling. They aren't any better then the used on.

yeah azurianstar said those dilithilum suits were a disappointment, but they were always meant to be bling... not useable in situations like Nukura Prime

They were disappointing. When the new EV suits were introduced with the Mining Event, the only difference was the suit color. And paying 350,000 for just a suit color was a ripoff. And we all know how long it takes to earn that kind of Dilithium.
Now with this new Tholian event, you can get an Uncommon EV suit with BETTER stats just from completeing one Easy Mission. Even better than the revised EV Suits in the Dilithium Store. Which absolutely does not justify that 350,000 Dilithum cost. (Which is funny, one suit being worth more than one T5 Ship.)
So the Devs need to go back again and either signficiantly drop the costs of the Diltihum Store Suits, or really buff their stats so they are worth that kind of expense. Personally, be nice if crafting could be involved with suit development.

those suits were meant as a sort of status, like saying you were such a hardcore dilthilum grinder that you could afford a suit like that
and status, or bling, or whatever you choose to call it... they're usually a lot less effective in the field anyway, because they're only meant to be worn, or show off. these suits are no different, and EV suits made for use are a lot more crude-looking, by comparsion.
it's the same as a few things in the real world as in STO

I too experienced almost everything listed in the thread, I'd like to add that when I got killed by the Tholian Proyect Leader i was respawned inside the cave system, not an external spawn point.
I'd like to also reiterate how most of the ground invasion missions seem overly long and repetitive, ESPECIALLY the external one where you have to mine a ton of the crystals.
First off I would like to say I love the graphics and environmental design. The armored EV Suits are awesome. However, the turrets and support drones last only 3 seconds when fabricated.
stably with no turrets the engineers are all but useless. Until this is fixed you might as well paint us as red shirts lol.

I still find it funny that they actually named one of the missions 'Rescuing Redshirts'. It's like one of the ultimate references

Somewhat fun but hoping there will also be something space based at some point.
Tholian creature comments:
1. Animation is ok, but sometimes seems like they aren't moving though they do - excluding the times when this is lag
2. They can sometimes get stuck in the walls where you cannot shoot them but they can shoot you
3. When they spawn, they sometimes disappear for a moment then reappear
Missions:
1. The internal mission to free prisoners has some issues. I don't like that you can be fighting the Tholians and someone else can come in and free the prisoners while you are taking the heat. It's a bid wierd to just sit in the room and open the 4 cells, wait a bit for them to respawn, then open them again; continuing to do so till you get your 20 cells open. We have to interegate some prisoners, 12 to be exact, couldn't we free them after as part of the freeing quest as that would make a bit more sense to me.
2. External missions also has similar issue, can be engaged with Tholian to get to equipment to explode and someone else comes thru and explodes it.
Rewards:
1. We are getting tholian reward boxes and it seems like they all have eva suits - what about better weapons to fight the tholians with as well? The Tholians throw out a sticky grenade, would be nice to get those?
Okay, I am going to repeat what some people have been saying, especially with the Medium exterior "Closing Doors" mission.
You can't complete it. There's no indication as to how many codes are needed nor is there a way to use any of the objects on the ground around the "rift" areas. Could we get some information that could actually help the people who are stuck on this mission? It would be appreciated.
Another thing I just remembered... Tholians can shoot through Walls in the internal missions and shoot through large rocks on the exterior missions. This makes taking cover to heal up sometimes impossible. Is this intentional or what? If it is, I don't likey! lol.
Total love the graphics changes to HUD map and when selecting an Away Team. Did find that on options selecting camera kept on reverting back to default which is a pain. But my only big negative is on mining. 500 is way too high and after a while it became tedious and boring. But overal I LOVED IT LOVED IT LOVED IT:)
Tholians kept running away from me which was super annoying. Their movement looked glitchy, and sometimes I would be shooting at a place where they weren't but still hitting them.
Respawn timers on the interior easy missions were too high. I would kill two tholians, open two cells, and they would have already respawned and I'd have to kill them again to open the second two. Similarly with the "talk to the dudes in cages" mission, I had to kill the tholian guarding them 2-3 times per group.
The dialog on the mirror universe folk was obviously unfinished.
Getting hit while doing the crystal mining thing caused it to end, which was really obnoxious considering how fast the respawn timer on the tholians is. I tried doing some mining outside and gave up after I kept getting interrupted, and didn't bother trying it at all inside where the respawn timers seemed even faster. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if the mission didn't require 500 crystals.
Two of the four green reward packs that I opened didn't contain anything at all.
When using the shard of possibilities the mirror universe counterparts do not show up in EV suits, thus dying quickly.
The dialog on the interspacial inquiry mission is off, stating that when you tell someone that they are telling the truth when they are that you uncovered their deception quicker than the tholians, even though there was no deception to be uncovered.
the closing door mission is bugged it won't let me deactivate the portals, the tholian team leader didnot fight when i fought him and when i diead against him the second time i fought him, i was resawned in the interior level one.
I played for awhile, and there were several things I noticed.
1. It takes too long to move things to my bank. We need a shortcut for that. That has nothing to do with tribble, but I know you guys are reading this and we REALLY need a shortcut to move to bank. It take a really long time to drag and drop. If we could control click to move FAST, it would be nice. Also to the sell and search windons on the exchange! Inventory management in this game is a headache.
2. My shard doubles are not in EV suits, but I am.
3. My Horta dies quickly, and one would think a Horta's unique physiology would protect it.
4. You can jump down from the 'base camp' and it 'looks' like you are jumping though a forcefield.
5. In the tunnels, I could only find one peice of tech to blow up.
6. The tholians in the fight with the commander, (exterior mission) will follow you around looking at you if you are cloaked.
7. It takes too long to move stuff into my bank.
8. Rifles on the back look goofy. Seriously goofy. The CRM looks extra gofy on the back. (Though I like pistols and whips on the side.) Phasers should be cross draw though, like in the TV show.
9. I can't seem to advance at all in 'closing doors.'

They apparently didn't test the graphics with the EV suit.

opened tholian eqiupment requiesition and nothing happened!
This happened to me as well. Opened the reward from the medium quest (Tholian Equipment Requisition - Advanced) and the box was removed from my inventory but was empty.
I had previously opened two "Tholian Equipment Requisition - Standard" and both contained an item.
This mission. Where do I begin? Ok, my suggestion for this mission is thus:
As this update is to promote fleet and team work: Have all members on a team who are mining, count towards everybody in the team.
This allows team mates to cover their allies who are mining, from Tholians who when 'Closing Doors' works, swarm the area.
This also promots team work. A player can provide cover, and still get credit for the mission.
Increase the crystal yield or lower the required crystal count. Mining 15-30 times depending on skill is boring.
Interdimensional Tactics
Stuns, holds, & Freeze statuses need to break Trapper holds.
If the liquid in the room is Toxic, it should not damage us through our Environmental suits.
If the liquid in the room is Acidic, it should damage the Tholians.
After stage 1, Portals will appear at random and spawn Tholians at random, even when the Leader is active.
If this is intentional its bad design.
Interspacial Inquiry
Mission reset after completing 3/4s of the interrogations.
Scheduled Self Destruct
Lack of the functionality of many player abilities limits players abilities to truely test this mission yet.
--Security Team, Shard of Possiblities, Holographic Exocomp, Exocomps, Drones, All engineering turrets
----These need to be fixed.
I do not know if Hortas are effected.
Non-Combat pets are fine. Tiny Mugato's are immune to horrible burning effects.
Event General
Set Items should be tradable, or acuirable through something other than the Boxes
I have several Compressed Cryo Launchers. But no Armor or Shield.
A friend has several Shields but no launcher or armor.
Another has several armors but no gun or shields.
We can't trade them with each other.
No, really, this isn't hypothetical, this is actually the situation. We have several of one, none of the others.
General Suggestion
If a MACO, Omega, or Honor Guard set costume is active, and a player activates an EV Suit, instead of an EV suit appearing the following should occure:
On top of the basic costume they have active, the basic helmet, and gloves of the set should appear.
This allows the player to keep their customized apperance that they have earned, and the benefits of an EV suit.
1) Please give us a Federation EV suit like the mission givers, I don't think the federation should be buying EV suits off the dominion.
2) On the hard mission for the Tholian Commander, please either change the part where the room fills with acid or decrease the number of interphasic rifts that form with tholians, it is way to hard even with 5 people to try and revive team members that are in pools of acid while being dragged by 3 different tholians at the same time.
3)Love the Tholian set, 3 thumbs up
4)Reward boxes are not always giving a reward.
5)Reward boxes contain too many EV suits, i have enough EV suits so that i could wear one a day and never wear the same one twice
This ability of pulling you, pulls you into the water and kills you rather quickly. You can't break through. ITS UNREAL!
For the self destruct quest, you should have the ability to heal the core somehow, its nearly impossible to get to 5 miuntes. Its a small confinded space and you expect WAY TO MUCH when your being constantly surrounded and can't do anything to fix the core.
You should also allow security escorts to beam down in EV SUITS and allow our turrets to work!

They were all great, but the 'closing doors' mission is bugged. you can't complete it. I got 40 of the codes, but they were useless.
I did both of the easy level cave missions. They were excellent, and no problems, apart from some glitchy door graphics and a bit of lag.
Although security teams beam in and disappear instantly !

Completed two quests on easy, opened two req boxes. The system reports I received two sets of armor, in inv I got only one.
Thats all for now.
