While I 100% agree that there should be female gorn/Nausican/lethian you have to understand that unlike CO where we own the property and can make stuff up at the end of the day CBS still owns STO and gets to call the shots.
Now I am not a programmer or a marketing guy so I don't know exactly what kind of hoops we had to jump through but I do know that inventing female tellerites was not fast or easy. We had to keep redesigning them until CBS was happy with it, and then we were able to put them in.
Also it is true that the "ugly" female races are the least played in STO. So while I would love to have them (says the GM who doesn't make stuff ) we would be jumping through a lot of hoops to invent 3 new models that very few people (if any) would actually use.
Now I can't say it will never happen (I hope we get them in some day) but there is no ETA on it.
And for the record Kestral (One of the writers) is a big advocate for more shoes. So there is someone who is on your side
You've said what the problems are, but not mentioned if Cryptic is actually doing anything about those problems.
That Cryptic is still adding Federation C-store species without (apparently) lifting a finger to finish Klingon faction species (or add any more) is very telling. The least they could do is add Klingon uniform customization, but it seems this is too much trouble. Again, very telling that Cryptic can't do this for Klingons while at the same time they're adding off-duty FEDERATION clothes and Mirror Universe FEDERATION uniforms. Where are the Klingon off-duty clothes and MU uniforms? They aren't even mentioned in engineering reports.
So you cant add, say, female Gorn because the evil overlords... er... CBS would have to sign off on it..
How about, instead, we get some new alien parts that fit along the lines of what you would come up with without the overlords over your shoulder?
Sounds like a win-win situation as those of us that want female nausican or gorn captains and crew get what we want, and you get off the hook from the overlords because you're not actually creating a female gorn or nausican.

True, it wouldnt make much sense for Klingons wearing Human uniforms, but for Humans it doesnt make sense wearing Uniforms wich were Used 150 years ago in a parallel Universe, either, so why not? We would have at last SOME variation.
Feel free to post any clipping issues with existing outfit parts, flaws with designs and urgent canon-defying problems (as in - hairstyles that are not silly dreadlocks). I play a Lethean with only Nausicaan BOs, so I'm not familiar with issues of other KDF species. The more feedback, the better the chance its getting up the priority list.
While I 100% agree that there should be female gorn/Nausican/lethian you have to understand that unlike CO where we own the property and can make stuff up at the end of the day CBS still owns STO and gets to call the shots.
To reiterate as to what others have already said, this is no excuse for not implementing the existing NPC costumes already seen amongst KDF factioned species. There is no reason why we can't see Gorn, Orion or even "Aliens" be given more costume options that the existing NPCs you see all over the game already have. If its some kind of technical hurdle for it, that's more acceptable. But its definitely not a licensing issue since CBS already approved the art already in the game.
And if it is indeed a technical hurdle, then its time to show some talent Cryptic is known for and overcome that technical hurdle. After all, you guys are known best for character customization and nothing will give us more pleasure than to create a character that we truly want. I recently renewed by sub in CO with no intention of cancelling because of that feature.
you can't even see your clothes when you are captaining your spaceship anyway, but i think because we Serve the KDF we would have to wear their clothes as part of their defence force. It's klingon defence force not lethean gorn nausicann orion alien klingon defence force or LGNOAKDF

I dunno... Feds get custom uniforms why can't we? Also last I checked the Empire is broken up into houses and though the KDF unites them they should be able to have their own flairs.

Then perhaps its time consider adding in more female friendly races, Klingon and Orion for your female players are not enough. I just think its very silly that females are so under done on the KDF side.

Not really... in reality the KDF is a loose grouping of assets provided by the Houses of the Empire... the Klingon Empire is a feudal state so I rather doubt there is any uniform code.
To quote Hannibal Lector, 'we desire what we see every day'. If all we see are Orion and Klingon females, its just natural no-one directly asks 'oh please can I have a smexy female Gorn, and oh, I want her to wear a miniskirt'. But having the option, *seeing* the option in the character selection, increases the chance people will want to try them out.
If I could create a female Nausicaan, I would totally play one. I also tried to make a female Lethean, but alas, I can't because I don't even have the teeth for female. What would I really do with the male Lethean teeth in the alien creator? I can play a male Lethean and have the correct traits, voila, no need to create one.
Can't we at least get the teeth as female alien parts?
It is possible to chalk it up to certain species not expressing a notable degree ofsexual dimorphism, or being asexual. There's a certain sense to it as those races have reptilian traits, and reptiles often do not display a lot of sexual dimorphism.
If this is the angle the designers want to work it would be best to remove gender reference and remove that step from those races' character creation, or relabel it as "No Gender." Of course, I'm sure CBS would have to sign-off on that decision.
Though, I could do with female Gorn having mammalian traits, seeing as they traditionally have multifaceted eyes -- may as well throw in another example of how alien they are to have evolved such an unearthly combination of features.
"No Gender" would open a new can of issues. What uniform options would you give them? Male or female? What body? Be sure if there's a re-name from Gorn - male to Gorn - no gender, you'll get tons of complaints that its still the male body and uniform options and still no choice to customize anything else. Simply saying reptilians have no clear genders doesn't make it easier, it just rewords the basic issue: lack of customization and selection.
I hate it how KDF females are completely broken.
Unless you choose alien female you cant even remove the ugly collar.
As a friendly note to Cryptic:
1) The collar should not be standard and fixed on females, agreed.
2) Also given how much skin a Klingon faction female shows I find it kind of odd that we can only design FACIAL skin, the rest of the body is always solid color, if I design a skin with stripes 3 then it should also carry to the rest of the body, please, please, please. Or give us an option for a body skin texture.
3) And as for the more options, simply copy-paste off-duty clothes to Klingon faction. It should be fairly simple, I use the same alien "Avatar" design on both sides, so I know that the texturing part works.
4) As a next step, just give us the already available clothes in game, like others above mentioned, I do know f.e. that Orion females typical clothes do work even with emotes and all (just check DS9 for that).
5) And could we get a second option for feet ?? Running around in underwear with warrior boots looks, ehm, kinda .... strange. (just read the Admin notice, I hope that our advocate can implement something).

Not sure what you refer to by this Indigo.. there are female Gorn (not sure about the other two, but Nausicans I am pretty certain.. should be easy to imagine what they look like) in canon. Not to mention they are more active in the militaryaspects of their society than the men are.

Gorn are a cold-blooded reptilian species with green, leathery skin and an average height of approximately 2 meters. They tend to be stronger than most humanoids. Their ears are simple holes on the sides of their skulls. Their mouths boast an impressive array of sharp, carnivorous teeth, and their hands and feet have vicious claws. They have a size and bite radius similar to the now-extinct velociraptors of Earth. Like most cold-blooded lifeforms, the Gorn are known to prefer warm temperatures. (ENT episode: "In a Mirror, Darkly, Part II".)
An average Gorn male weighs about 215 kilograms. Their leathery hides is naturally strong which serves as natural armor. Their physical strength is even greater then what their appearance suggests as they possess a great deal of muscle mass. Though this is impressive among the males, the female Gorns are even fearsome a they can average around 2.5 meters high and typically are 250 kilograms. As such, the females tend to be the stronger gender among the Gorn race. Due to this, it is not uncommon to see a large number of female marines and officers within the Gorn military.
Due to their high degree of muscle, the Gorn tend not to be as dexteous as Humans, however, this did not mean they were slow witted. (TOS video game: Starfleet Command II) In addition, they were also a cold blooded species which meant that they were not picked up on infrared scopes. (TOS novel: Catalyst of Sorrows)
That is exactly what I was thinking. Typically, terrestrial reptile genders are indistinguishable to the untrained eye. Some have colours or patterns indicating the gender with the responsibility of performing the courting ritual, making it easy to distinguish, others larger have only very subtle indicators like cheek scales being larger for one gender, larger pores near the cloaca. Sometimes one gender is significantly larger than the other.
I agree with the person who said that Gorn should have gender references removed. Unless there is some kind of canonical reference to Gorn bearing live young that rely upon the mammalian trait of lactation for early nourishment (as opposed to a yolk sac or something similar).
As there are no canonical references to Lethean females; if the devs can use creative license, perhaps they should make them even bigger and scarier looking than the males. xD (Same for the Nausicaans. )
As I roleplay a female Nausicaan... She doesn't look really different than the males. Klingon females don't look really different from males either, so I don't see problem to come up with a model for them.
Letheans and Gorn... agreed, simply bigger versions of the male models, or go with the tiny differences like female Gorn have a slightly different head spike option, or female Letheans have different teeth positions.
Funny, i found out today that Orions actually HAVE Exclusive clothes. FOR MALE. I mean the only race almost NOBODY plays male gets exclusives for male, brilliant.

I actually made a male Orion for the onl reason that no-one else seems to have one. I'll have to check what clothes there are, didn't see anything unusual in the creator.
What would these pads be called? I tried on all available at the tailor, but didn't see any that my Lethean doesn't have. Or how do these Orion pads look like? Is it any of these?

In canon? I don't recall any. Citation?

Though it is listed under a non-canon site, it is the only foray into the Gorn as a species.
They're lizards after all.
Female Gorn are larger than males Gorn.

A shoulderpad doesn't really count does it?
It's more than the females get.
