There has to be some logical reason that is simply beyond us lesser creatures. I don't even get why Klingons have ONLY dreadlocks, because I can't remember any Klingon with that hair. Even less Nausicaans. Has anyone ever thought about the 'Nausicaan tattoo'? Nausicaans have bone plates on their faces. A tattoo is something that goes under the skin. There is no skin where most of that tattoo goes. If it was called 'war paint', maybe. I still can't remember any Nausicaan having that. Or those Hannibal Lector masks. I see a good chance I simply mixed things up, and thought I bought a Star Trek game, and this is really about something else.

The reason is not beyond us lesser Creatures. The reason is THAT we lower Creatures for Cryptik, and we all know that.
The reason is that 100 fed players want off duty, so no time between lunch, finishing time and scaling new Federation stuff.
I mean the 5 minutes of storywriting for Klingon exploration was a "Big task", i would geuss the same on fed side is something they do unmentionet. For us, its a big task (cant get over that, sorry. Big task.....)

Its still beyond me how a company can only work on one task at a time, regardless of its 'size'. I don't know, but somehow it seems efficient if there are 2 things to do, that 2 teams work on them. At the same time. Not only the selection of the few KDF options is something I don't get, its also how a company can survive without the ability to multitask.

They can muulti-task. They can work on 3-5 Fed items and 1 Klingon item at a time. Just don't expect them to change that ratio. --> Union rules.

Yes. And if there is trouble and they dont have the resources to do that all.... they just cancel the klingon item.

And why oh WHY do player (but NOT NPC) Gorn dress like Klingons? The art is already in the game so GIVE IT TO US!

And why oh WHY do player (but NOT NPC) Orions dress like Klingons? The art is already in the game so GIVE IT TO US!

And why oh WHY do player (but NOT NPC) Nausiccans dress like Klingons? The art is already in the game so GIVE IT TO US!

And do on and so forth...

The art is already done... Why do we not have access to it?

Next you will be wanting the NPC Gorn, Orion and Nausican ships. It's a slippery slope that Cryptic will avoid for as long as possible. Then presto, they will pull these things out of their, er, sleeve.

Someone will be along to say "NPC clothing won't work on player characters" because player characters do emotes and bend in different places. I know, it's hard to make that work for shoes and eye patches.

Clothing is just textures in this game. Basically if the player model (skeleton if you will) can perform the emote, the textures go with it. It isn't like the clothing is "added" to the player char it's effectively a texture replacement only. So the excuse of "we need to redo animations" is a pile of bs if Cryptic starts to claim that.

So yes it is VERY weird why they don't just add some clothing code to the tailors, unless they want to run the C-Store scam on us KDF members by adding items that should be in the game itself to the C-Store. It wouldn't surprise me tbh but all we can do is wait and see...

I've never figured out why they didn't make those available as alternative skins for their corresponding types from the beginning.

I think you might be on to something! The fact there is zero choice of shoes for female Klingon faction is the give away...hard to believe Cryptic have any female employees who are not just making the coffee :D

Even harder to believe Orion females would be caught dead in Klingon clothing.

It took me 2 hours playing with the character creator to outfit my character with absolutely no clipping, and I had to use the cut out which I HATE with a passion. It wouldn't be so bad if the waist bit was removed, and it just flowed into a belt to separate pants from shirt, but alas it doesn't.

I would like more options, I really would. I love the sashes, but on male toons it is either wear a sash and no shoulder armor, or shoulder armor and no sash, or both with MASSIVE clipping. Females it is pointed shoulder armor or clipping, but at least it works with one shoulder armor.

We aint asking for much, just options.

There's actually 3, though I suppose the third race is practically the same as the one of the other two. Also the "ugly" collars hides the fact that the head and the bodies have slightly different shades. So you're all in all better off with it on.

Well explain to me why the Feds are getting all the new ships of late? I have to agree the Klingons' are being ignored for the most part. I started on the Fed side worked all my up to the top and now I have done the same on the Klingon side. There is a BIG difference between the two sides. It seems the Feds have a lot of good missions with good drops where we have to hope we get something in combat that is not a Engine Bat, Shield, or a Aux Bat. Looking on the market some items are good but others are out of this world. Collecting badges do help when PvP is slow. I do wish there is something on the C-Store outside new bridge settings.

    Thank you;

While I 100% agree that there should be female gorn/Nausican/lethian you have to understand that unlike CO where we own the property and can make stuff up at the end of the day CBS still owns STO and gets to call the shots.

Now I am not a programmer or a marketing guy so I don't know exactly what kind of hoops we had to jump through but I do know that inventing female tellerites was not fast or easy. We had to keep redesigning them until CBS was happy with it, and then we were able to put them in.

Also it is true that the "ugly" female races are the least played in STO. So while I would love to have them (says the GM who doesn't make stuff ;) ) we would be jumping through a lot of hoops to invent 3 new models that very few people (if any) would actually use.

Now I can't say it will never happen (I hope we get them in some day) but there is no ETA on it.

And for the record Kestral (One of the writers) is a big advocate for more shoes. So there is someone who is on your side ;)

I hope you guys do try to get them in the game one day. The Klingons need the same love the Federation does.

Is this why the Tellarites were not in the game at launch as a preset race?

If so, you guys should have had more faith in us and told us that this was WHY they weren't in the game. I, myself, was really upset for the fact that they weren't in the game. If this was the reason they weren't then I know it wasn't directly your fault.

For me, I enjoy the game so much more now that I can play a Tellarite (except their height slider still needs to be fixed).

I do hope you guys will continue to add races (on both sides).

Kriosian and Arin'Sen for the Klingon faction for example.

Well, IndigoFyre, the only race of the three that do not have female models that I can think of that could have them included are the Naussicaans. Both the Gorn and the Lethians are reptilian based, so females would not be that different physically- typically...larger.

The Naussicaans are probably the only ones who would have females based upon that criterion. So, while it may be a pain in the backside, it might not be as difficult to make female Naussicaans. Additionally, where does it say that a species of ugly males can't have attractive looking females?

I had always thought that the best explanation for the Tellarite lack of women was that they were like Tolkienian Dwarfs- both sexes were bearded, short and wrinkled.

All fascinating stuff (really, not being snarky) but frankly I just want access to the Klingon/Gorn/Orion clothing art that is already in the game on NPCs, so it is not like I am asking for water to be made to run uphill :D

Uphill running water would be easier to do, since it is a change to the physics engine and so wouldn't require agreement from CBS.

I don't understand... How is it a change in the physics engine if the art is already implemented on NPC?
