I can definitely recommend a trip there yeah. Been to the UK twice last year and I really wished I could live in London. It's such a lovely city. Then again, I mostly got to see the good sides of London. Still, gotta love the accent hehe. I almost wanted to go so far to regularly check up on English newspapers too, but I barely have time to keep up with their Dutch counterparts.
I am such a bumpkin, I am actually scared of London!!!
I have only ever been twice, once on a School Trip when I was 9 and once a few years ago to the West End as Alex took me to see Phantom Of The Opera!!
Quite bravely I thought as I have a serious crush on the guy *character* and I think I put other people off the show with my giant sweeps of my great net to try and catch him. *wink*
All I cen remember of the city was how HUGE it was, and how noisey, and how while I was waiting for Alex at the train station the deep unease as people got into my personal sapce...
See I'm a Bumpkin...
However I would adivse that if anyone ever gets the chance, especially the creatives, to get to the Lake Districts they take it, beautiful scenery, very serene....it always tickles my creative muscles when ever I go there.
Gah there is no hope for me, I'm a country girl at heart!!!
I prefer the quiet of my neighbourhood or the countryside, but walking through a large and crowded city can be very inspirational too. You come in contact with so many people there, overhear conversations of all kinds and by imagining what those people are like my mind gets very creative in thinking up new characters for my stories.
Walking thirty minutes through the city centre can give me more inspiration than a day of research on the Internet.
If you want to write about something you to go out there and explore it for yourself, rather than reading about it. At least, that's how I think about it.

Oh there is no diubt about it, for people watching cities are awesome.
I used to work in Leeds City Center and I liked to get my lunch and sit on a bench right in the middle of the pedestrian precinct...and I used to watch people. I used to create elaborate stories to who they actually were underneath their stuffy suits and work clothes.
It's always fascinated me when you watch the news the great evils and well as acts of immense kindness and heroism that occur from just quiet joe blogs types.
Time and time and again you hear "Oh he was nice, quiet, kept to himself"
Who knows what light ot darkness dwells in the hearts and minds of men,,,,,it's one of the reasons I like RPing.
It allows me to clother myself in someone elses personality even for a brief time...
However I have to say London was something else, Leeds I thought was a big city, but London....Man it was just HUGE!!!
The show was good though, definitley can reccomend going to see a show at the west end!!
The entire city of London is just as large as one of our provinces.
Then again, New York City + suburbs is as large as my entire country. With 16.7 million people on a small piece of land we have a higher population density than China.
He is being assesed at the moment, the peadiatricians think it may be a sign he is autistic or have a similar social/communciation disorder as he is a very routine dependent child and at 2 and a half still isn't speaking or showing any desire to comunicate with us just yet.
Middle kid didn't really communicate past his first year. Wife caught his hearing problems quickly, and got the doctors working on it. Tubes in and a lot of work the next few years and he talks alot now. Though he tends to talk loudly. My oldest had problems traveling, we couldn't get him to sleep. So after trying everything, we gave him a little something to help him fall asleep at night when we traveled (ped agreement on this).

For the past 20 years, I've only gone downtown here in Houston about 12 times. 2 of those were for baseball games, and the others were for jury duty. I just hate the traffic. Give me the nice suburbs any day!
Nah, if you live somewhere you also see the bad sides of the city. For example, my own city isn't too well known in my country, but I live in one of the better parts of the city.
There are neighbourhoods with high unemployment rates and low educated people though, those generally have more problems than other neighbourhoods. Still, I personally feel safe enough to go anywhere in the city at any time of the day or night.
A lot of women, however, feel differently about that and avoid going to certain streets after dark. The problems in my city are by far not as bad as some of the larger cities have though, but it does have more problems than the average city of this size.
On the other hand, if I didn't live here I'd have probably paid 20% to 50% more for a similar house in another city (up to 100% more in the west of the country). I got my house pretty cheap now and I might not have been able to afford it otherwise.
Hello Fleet! Hope you are all having fun! Still in the job hunt....and working a few hours filling at one of my old jobs. Hope something turns up soon.

Best of luck to you Shelby i am praying for you i am confident something will turn up for you.
People always say "Good things dont Last" but what they dont know is that is also true on the reverse, Bad things dont always last either sooner or later the other side of your coin will flip
Thank goodness for that yeah... I got in bed at 0:45 this morning. Sometimes I should call it a night way earlier, was still working on some stuff for medical. :-s

Thank you! I really appreciate that! I have a lot of people pulling for me and I am very grateful.
I am looking forward to the weekend too...my son has a football game and I can't wait to see it.
Just called asking if I can be in at 8 instead of 9 for stock take tomorrow.
I couldn't give a deffo yes, but said almost certainly I could (it depends on transport). They pretty much demanded I give an exact answer immediately.
My boss once called me and asked if I could come straight away to work since they desperately needed more people. I told them no since I was having a day off and had better stuff to do. Their rotten planning isn't my problem.
It didn't have any negative consequences either for me, as you so often hear about.
I'm simply not one of those people that asks "How high?" when the boss says "Jump!" and I'm off duty, my time off is worth a lot to me too.
On the other hand, if I have nothing to do at the time of the request I'm usually inclined to go. Extra cash is always welcome anyway and there is no reason to sit around being bored, when you can do something useful.
Where I work, it's pretty much run by 3 very bossy women.
The manager isn't too bad, but the 2 supervisors sit on their butts all day drinking tea and chatting while ordering people around. They even call people in when it is just then 2 of them on so they don't have to do anything!
And you never said anything about this to your manager?
She might be interested in learning that she can easily get rid of 1 useless supervisor and hire an extra hand with the money she saves out on that. Or alternatively promote a more capable supervisor in the previous ones place.
Let's say someone with leadership skills and secret lab stashed away somewhere.

I think you're long overdue for a promotion mate.
The manager is leaving at the end of the month so wouldn't care anyway. Also, a promotion would net me a lot more hours work, for about 20p extra.

It's a beautiful day in the south of England (well, it isn't raining). It would be a perfect day if I was gaming rather than working
Two days til the weekend Yeah!!!
Best of luck to you Shelby i am praying for you i am confident something will turn up for you.

Another Tropical Storm coming my way this weekend which suxs cus my only action will probly be attending the Fleet meeting on Saturday.
The Next day will be spend battling down the hatches lol
That sucks, but if you can at least sleep in for an hour extra it'll still feel like weekend. I'm probably gonna have a semi relaxed weekend myself.
Thank you! I really appreciate that! I have a lot of people pulling for me and I am very grateful.

Hope for some STO time too this weekend.....:)
