WOW Nishka I thought you were from London lol shows you how much i pay attention lol
I wish.
I do prefer to write in British over American though. In general I think British sounds nicer too, I just love the accent!
For my books, however, I also had to learn to write in American and I'm working my way up to become fluent in both. There are so many differences between the two that I started treating them as separate languages.
I'm also found out that if you equip the Aegis set a Deltaflyer it'll end up looking like a flashlight in space.
Next RP event my shuttle will at least be properly prepared, the only white item I kept on the shuttle is the beam array, since it's a 360 degrees one and there isn't a better version available. At least not to my knowledge.
On the subject of writing....thanks to Francis Scott Key for writing a really "cool" poem!
"On this day in 1814, Francis Scott Key pens a poem which is later set to music and in 1931 becomes America's national anthem, "The Star-Spangled Banner." The poem, originally titled "The Defence of Fort McHenry," was written after Key witnessed the Maryland fort being bombarded by the British during the War of 1812. Key was inspired by the sight of a lone U.S. flag still flying over Fort McHenry at daybreak, as reflected in the now-famous words of the "Star-Spangled Banner": "And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.""
I went to the UK last year and met up with a fleet mate of ours. Had the time of my life too!
If I had enough spare cash I'd go to Manchester again coming winter and I really wanted to go to London for a week this year, but buying a house kinda cut into my vacation plans both timewise and financially.
Who knows, maybe next year. I still really want to visit London and meet up with some people of the fleet there. If I could I'd go live there, I love that city!
(Spent a weekend there last year, which was way too short.)
Yeah next year would be really good as well, Jack will be a it older and maybe he'll sleep somewhere other than his cot <grin>
it would be great to meet some of the fleet!!
And Loki, you were naughty!!! *colour me all kinds of suprised* *snort s*******
Firix I hold no fear of your experimentation, as long as you don't mind me running a few of my own *grin*
Seriously though me and Alex are going to be reknewing our vows hopefully next year, maybe we can invite 12th fleeties to the big occasion
I haven't been in 13 years and would love to go back, although after what happened the last time I don't think Kerri would let me go by myself lol. Would be loads of fun!
Wife really wants to go for a first time! BUT we have to wait until the kids get outta college, get a pres that can actually boost our dollar again, and I can find the time to take that much time off of work at a single time.
He is being assesed at the moment, the peadiatricians think it may be a sign he is autistic or have a similar social/communciation disorder as he is a very routine dependent child and at 2 and a half still isn't speaking or showing any desire to comunicate with us just yet.
However we are getting help, and they are very hopeful that if there is something wrong they will find out what and he will get the help he needs.

Some things you have to make time for, the trick is usually the plan them way ahead of time and not let anything interfere with those plans.

My little brother had a similar problem, turned out he had trouble hearing people. After a simple ear operation the prob was fixed and he started learning words.
I wouldn't be too concerned about the speaking just yet, though 2 and half is pretty old already. You could perform a hearing test with him though.
The routine would be a bigger indicator of a form of autism.
My sisters 1 year old is already talking the ears of everybody's head, but apparently he's a year ahead for his age. It's pretty cool how I have to read him kid books as his big uncle.

Oh he sounds adorable!!
Jack has already had all the hearing tests, he's actually got better than average hearing and has started to cover his ears to block out some sounds.
Mind you he also does that when we say No as if to say, so do not want to know that!!
At the moment the assesor wants us to try and teach him to associate with us, rather than just our hand. If he wants something he comes and drags your hand, which is basically him saying "Hand come and get me this* Rather than "Mummy come get me this"
So we have been told to resist till he makes eye contact, so far it's working sometimes...sometimes he just goes in a mad hig and stomps off accorss the room as if to say FINE!!
I didn't want it anyway!!!
Something you may or may not have tried yet, but try acting on his level instead?
For example, if you give him an easy puzzle (which is something I suspect him to be good at) you could also make a puzzle yourself or hand him pieces to fit in. It's a way of communicating without words. I realise it won't help you make him talk faster with you, but it's a very basic way of communicating. A next step would be to point at the objects on the puzzle and name them repeatedly until a lightbulb in his head goes off.
I think he's really intelligent, but also very self centred.
Lovely tuesday we are having today all this talk about London I might plan a trip to the UK for i never have been there and my pockets probly can afford it this year for I am single.
Plus I have a friend in Wales who I went to college with I pretty much dropped the ball with her because i was shy then (aaaaaaaw) but i wouldnt mind stopping by to see her to see if she has a man while i visit Fleet mates :-)

I can definitely recommend a trip there yeah. Been to the UK twice last year and I really wished I could live in London. It's such a lovely city. Then again, I mostly got to see the good sides of London. Still, gotta love the accent hehe. I almost wanted to go so far to regularly check up on English newspapers too, but I barely have time to keep up with their Dutch counterparts.

And this is a good selling point how?.....

Firix forgets that it's medical that has all the sedatives.
He won't be able to do much damage after a single hypospray.

He does have favourite shapes for instance like a star, and will at every available oppertunity point them out to you.
And we sit and look at books togther, and he points and I tell him what it is
He likes to make groups, lines of cars, blocks, toys of the same colour or shape.
And I agree with you, he is a very inner child, he plays with me quite a bit, but as you can imagine I fall in the catagory of mad mummies
I sing, I do impressions, I pretend to be all manner of creatures from parrots to pirates and I chase him round.
However sometimes Jack just wants to be on his own, and he is very independant and stong willed for someone so small

If you want more info feel free to pm me on our own forums.
Ahh, but you forget I invented half of them...and still have all the failed ones....
I have found a minion!
OMG Firix the mentor....it doesn't bare thinking about!!!
*hugs*
Sarah!!
Don't hug him!
You might get Firix cooties now!!
Who knows what those will do, they're probably another failed experiment.
Firix Cooties....
Or Sarah's Huggles Cooties!!!
Place your bets!!!

Join the 12th!
Works quite well actually. When I wake up, the Bathroom will be a bit closer to completion.
