Gotta agree to a certain extent, here. I've never seen such a bunch of crying babies before.... Klingons, my a**... sounds closer to a Ferengi with a stubbed toe..

A Klingon would make do with what he or she had, and secure victory with it.

Makes me wonder if the devs are going to add new Klink side costume pieces, i.e. tight black clothing and pink boots, so they can look like the crying emo kids they act like, sometimes.

Note: This is not directed at all those playing with us on Klink side. There are a few that aren't whining little p***ies. Kudo's to you for just going out and having fun.

riddle me this; if the Klingon side as was well developed and the Feds could only do PvP matches, would you not be "crying" as well? I would wager serious money that STO would have crashed&burned if the shoe was on the other foot.

Star Trek is ofcourse mostly Federation, and I understand why Cryptic banked on that, but I also have to say, zero points for trying to expand on the franchise. Yes, Fed is nice, all warmy touchy glowy and stuff, but the Klingons are the warrior species, not the Feds, although DS9 after season 3 was heavy on war.

Thus, if Cryptic wants to sell more subs, develop the Klingon side a bit more, there is room for both I imagine, unless the Cryptic crew is made up of 20 or so people, juicing turn over should not be a stranger for them as a corporation.

Finally, reward those die-hard players now at RA1-5 for leveling up before any new content. Playing at least 750 PvP matches simply takes more patience then getting SP thrown at you for going to the Admiral Office on the Fed Side. Just give them recognition, an ingame title for example, nothing major which would disrupt game balance, this would be the least reward in my opinion, that they fully deserve.

Just hope they give the "original" Klingons a nice melee weapon for being true warriors :)

Hats off to those hardcore players who leveled pvp the whole way. I know that isn't for me.

I just want to give you some hope that if I am looking to play klingon now, that perhaps more fed players will be changing over to the empire. I think with every content release they will draw more and more players to the other side. I doubt it will ever be 50/50, the federation is simply too popular.

Don't know if it has been mentioned here but Cryptic has given us a tentative time-table for serious Klingon PVE.
Now I know many of the KDF would like to see something earlier than this but the big thing we have been asking for lately is communication and a dev to come out and tell us SOMETHING!

    Well now they have.
    dstahl wrote: »
After getting out of a scheduling meeting today I can give a quick update on this.

Klingon PVE episodes have been confirmed to be in the Season Two update plan and the design pod is starting work on the content next week. Season Two is scheduled to be released this summer. It is a decent amount of content so will take some time to make it cool.

I'll be tracking this content as we get closer via the Engineering Report forum. Keep in mind that schedules are always subject to change - but hopefully this will give you an idea.

    http://forums.startrekonline.com/sho...d.php?t=140294

And yes before we all start lamenting the wait...our last big request we have been asking for is communication. Here it is. I will wait to see now. Will I wait in or out of game? Dunno. But our question has been asked and answered for the time being.
Sure, we would have liked more and sooner.....but who wouldnt in our positions. But now I have an informed position to go on.
Let us look towards Season 2. If it isnt there by then...well.....we will see, we will see.
So for now, though yes I of course would like my x-mas earlier, shall protest no longer.
Yes we know it should have come sooner, yes we know it should have been done differently and in a different manner.
But in Cryptics defense RIGHT NOW....The question was asked, and an answer has been given. And for that I say to Cryptic: Thank you for communicating this to us.

    Now let the waiting begin

yes, it has been mentioned. on pages 7 and 8 of this thread. the easiest way to find out if something has been mentioned or not is to read the thread.

I understand that you were trying to be helpful, but a post like this will just make people think that you like to talk, but have little interest in what anybody else has to say. to really participate in a discussion, you have to at least give the other participants the illusion that you have listened to what they have said so far.

He's spamming it where ever he can in the hopes of changing peoples minds. Unfortunately I suspect come April they'll only be a few diehards with few if any people subbing or resubbing . It's getting really bad . People said they were waiting for Klingon content , now that they've seen the content proposed , they'll vote by not returning.

    Not quite.
I am posting it because the quote from Cryptic came in the middle of another thread - Not started by Crptic - and has managed to get under the radar somewhat and go unnoticed a little.
Simply trying to let peeps know .."Hey..Cryptic FINALLY said something on the subject!"
Which is more than we had to go on before.

    Nothing more...nothing less.

You posted this in 3 other threads , that's spamming. You're entitled to believe what you like, and frankly you're entitled to your enthusism . I for one will wait untill July and hold on to my $60 , until I'm satisfied the content is up to snuff , as I'm sure a great many other will as well . That's if we aren't side tracked by another games release , or forget about this. This is the price Cryptic pays by releasing an incomplete game.

    So?
    And your point?
Yes I spammed it, for the reasons I stated. Seems pretty logical to me. Just because I spammed it in three threads doesnt mean I condone what HAS happened, only trying to inform peeps that a response has been given as it DID manage to go rather unnoticed.
Spamming in itself means something has been posted multiple times. It in itself does not denote intent.

But in refference to the end result....yes I think many players will probably prsently cancel and sit and watch what happens between now and July. I'll play at least a little longer (though I no longer play everyday). I agree that if they come out with something meaningfull in july it may HELP recover some of what was lost. I dont think there will be a complete return by those who have or will have left.
Whats the long term future of the game? Hmmm hard to say...I know what I would HOPE would happen...but the odds presently.....I cant say. Hopefully we will all be proven wrong and it will be all that AND the box of crackers. <chuckle> We can hope. Until then.....I play occasionaly, I play WoW (ugh...girl friend likes it) and I wait. Can't even say how long..with that said I am STILL thankfull they at least responded, as ANYTHING was better than dead silence.
The rest remains to be seen.

Hey *******, I have been beating the more content war drum for a year along with most of the BoK fleet members. We even sent mission content into Cryptic. Fact is they lied about the content, now its a wait and see game if the will fix it. Or, if Cryptic will be forever know as the company that botched STO. As for calling me a drama queen, well when invest as much time, effort and money into helping develope a fleet for this game because of it's IP. Then you can talk, until then **** off.

We can't be Drama queens, I've been to the tailors..

No feather boas, no tiarras, drab colors with no flair, no FAHBULASS color choices.... :D

The fact still remains, many in the Empire don't feel content with the content. Many didn't want a PvP only 'monsterplay faction' and many believed content would be comming soon(tm)

The fact also remains, many Klingons are leaving due to the current state of the game, and how it feels Cryptic is tossing us tablescraps, while the Fed get's attention.

I know you'll then say, so waht, if you don't like it leave.. Problem with that is many are.

Vanguard got better after release, they say.. but how many are playing?

    AoC got better....they say

Hell even SWG claims to be doing better after the NGE.. yet how many are playing?

If your a Federation player, saying so what boo Hoo... go to your forums and post that TRIBBLE. how dare you come to the klingons section, and tout a boo hoo klingons are upset.. well back to my stuff as it don't affect me.

And for those who say don't let the door hit you on the way out. remember STO can't 'server merge' so if the playerbase does drop there is only 1 decision, and your lack of care when a different portion of the playerbase was here to say wait a sec, won't be arround when you try and say but wait...

    Agreed!!
What I find so completely insane is that it took all these Fed players that were telling us before launch to just deal with it, to accept it, that Klingons were supposed to be PvP centric, to actually come over and try to play Klingon before Cryptic would listen. I find that insulting to the very least, the game is biased, the faction equipment is unbalanced, hell there isnt even any point in running a KDF science officer, he cant collect anomolies, he cant craft....and yes CZ and DS both said there would be a Klingon version of Memory Alpha...anyone found it yet?
Our fleet ventrlo server had to be upgraded twice and we still couldnt keep everyone on at launch.
Now the only sound you hear is dead air space.
Good luck keeping this one alive Cryptic! Oh and since your driving the final nail in the Klingon coffin with allowing Fed v Fed PvP, may I aske what will be the next faction that your going to TRIBBLE up is?

I dunno what u Feds are crying about I got a fed to RA5 it was boring as hell I'm doing the daily missions once a day on it to get the nice purple gear............but I've been playing a Klingon for the past week and a half (omg I love it :D) and i should have stopped wasting my time on my fed at rank6 , I've read about people saying we of the empire are to strong in pvp, that's not the case all the time, granted my SO is only commander 6 but I cannot wait to get him to BG, plus the Klingon side seems to be friendlier players and there's no elitism yet like there is on the Fed side, I hope the Empire will never see it, lvl'n via pvp is an awesome idea if u don't like it stay on the fed side is all I can say.

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO DIE...........again

You know I don't think they get what it'll take to fix Klingons :

Ten Ton Hammer: We have a one word question that should encompass a lot of what players are anxious to hear about, and that is: Klingons?

Craig: Oh yes, Klingons! So we have this clear vision for Klingons and this clear plan for Klingons that is drastically different than Federation gameplay, very PvP oriented and a very different path for advancement, and we have heard the community and they will be getting some love in the next couple of updates. Update One has Klingon star clusters in it, we have transferred a lot of the fleet actions over so that they have that PvE content as well. They are getting customizable ships now, so that when you get your Bird of Prey you can swap out pieces just like the Federation.

It’s one of the things that the community is very vocal about and definitely wants and that really is our philosophy, what the community wants then that’s where we are going to put our development money into. Making sure that they get unique PvE episodes down the road, those are definitely things that we are doing.

Yeah , customization is a huge factor for Klingons. To top it all off , klingons are basically only worthy of cut an paste content .
I don't know has any ever seen a poll or questionaire that asks do you have a Klingon character ? What level ? What name(s) ? What do you thing Klingons need ?
Can't say I ever run across this . What players want , what a piece of generic garbage.
    Then they throw this out

Ten Ton Hammer: Are there any changes coming for PvP?

Craig: In the first update we are adding Fed vs. Fed because there is so much PvP going on in the game.

Bill: I think the good thing with introducing Fed vs. Fed PvP is that it will make it easier to get into a PvP match, there will be a larger pool of players and you won’t have to wait as long for the Klingon player.

Craig: We just have to make sure that as the Klingon population increases that we don’t harm that aspect of PvP with the Fed vs. Fed, we don’t want to kill that off. So that the Fed vs. Klingon is the thing that everybody wants, but the Fed vs. Fed is the stepping stone in between.

Yeah , mainly because when you max out there isn't anything else much to do. So they'll have FvF , what for no or minimal points/rewards , because that's about the only way that'll work . The Feds will scream bloody murder .

PS : When you cancel you account they do have a survey at the end questioning why you quit . Make sure it's long and detailed . Once you quit you will not be able to post on the forums any longer .

Klingons are Special - we get cut and paste content - its like baby hand me downs - I am SOOO excited !!!! Oh but theres more coming in July - eh yeah - I guess beating this into Cryptic even before beta began they just now realized the content is sorely needed.

    /sarcasm off

PVP is Huge thats why we are creating FvF - oh yeah like I beleive that - on average we have anywhere between 5-20 min wait time for a pvp game on Klingons (varies on tier) - when the game lauhced PVP games were back to back. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad for this. Now I get to watch the Federation nerf themselves over and over. Its going to be classic.

I can only hope companies like Bioware will raise the MMO bar once again, so that future games will have something to aspire too.

They don't have a clue that their version of limited PvP is the problem. Adding more of the same limited PvP in the guise of FvF isn't going to do anything except shorten the wait time for Feds. It does nothing to add fun to PvP.

    Here's the current Que:
    Salvage Operation-Large 0-18
    Salvage Operation-Small 0-16
    Cracked Planet 0-11
    Solar Wind 1-9

One Fed in 4 FvK maps.. Gawd I can't even do my die 25 times quests

remember, the number of people queued is not the same as the number of people playing. to see how many are playing you have to look at in-progress maps and count the players, rather than looking at queues of players *waiting* to play.

when the queues are running properly, one side will always have a low number because if there are enough players queued on both sides to start a new match, then a new match is started and those players are sent invitations (and removed from the queue). the process continues until one side or the other has too few players to start another match.

that said, sometimes you can look at the in-progress maps and discover that your side (or the other side) only has 5 people playing.
