considering there is no such thing in existant as an 8400GT he misspelled it as an 8400GS and personally I don't care if he enjoy's it thats fine, but telling the community at large the setup is fine is wrong on his part, and will lead people to assume there little dell can play the game when every right thinking person knows it can't. As for selling give me a break yes im gonna tell everyone to come to the little mom and pop shop i work in, give me a break, what I don't want is people is spreading a system that gets 7FPS at high as being good for the game and then everyone else assuming its fine also. I don't know how many of you have previous MMO experince but I do. Guess what I was a main raider in wow with my old guild, and guess what we didn't let anyone raid even pugs that didn't meet our minimum system requirements because them lagging affects the team, and I hold the same opion here, if a pug told me hes running an 8400GS, id klck him from the group and find a new pug because if you lag your no good to the team, and thats a simple fact, So if anyone wants to enjoy doing taskforces and eventully the real raids they will need a real computer and stating that a POS with a PD and an 8400GS cuts it for those only hurts others, because as people get to know the game and learn what lagging does i won't be the only one kicking people with bad computers and those people will find themselves having to run with fail groups all day long. I don't really care what your FPS is in sector space, I care what your FPS is in a task force if it isnt 30FPS min you dont come.

And as for single cores it may run it, but it wont run it right no matter what you try to say otherwise the game was built with the intention of you having a dual core, numorus benchmarks sites have shown simply going from a single to a dual core in this game is almost double the FPS, and the next question why is anyone using a single core today that is interested in gaming, its been 5 years since dual cores came out, get on the bandwaggon or stop tring to pass yourself off as a gamer and go check your email and princess pony island adventure. And what im saying right here is no diffrent than any true enthusiant site would say either.

If you want to be technical, that's wrong, as it's an "8400M GT", not "8400 GT". Without the "M" you're implying it's a desktop card. And for desktop cards, there's no "8400 GT". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Nvidia_graphics_processing_units

That's a mislabeling from China. Look at the NVIDIA's website if you don't believe me: http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_family.html. No 8400 GT.

then he would call it an 8400GT mobile not an 8400GT there is no 8400GT there is an 8400GT Mobile and after looking over the specs for it it is at best 2-3% faster than a desktop 8400GS and only because of a slighly higher bandwith and still less powerful than a desktop 8500GT which an 8500GT in laymens terms goes like this to compare it to other cards in nvidia

    8500GT= FX5900 - 6600 - 7300GTDDR2 - 8500GT - 9400GT - GT210

See a pattern here it is also way below what is needed for smooth gameplay and below the min specs crypic lists for the game

mosh's new friend is just as clueless as him it would seem about hardware.

Interesting, I see no single core CPU for your PC in past posts (until this thread). Unless you upgraded? Oh, why did you upgrade? Hmm.

    ...

Lol dude ive been waiting to upgrade for 2 years and just chose the big 8k tax break i got to go ahead and do it. If you must know. Also i still play around with both my new and old computer within the game.

If your ignorant of OEM chips seperation from that retail family listing, then I apologize for accusing you of lying as it's fair that you not to know that, it's not readily obvious.

now even OEM cards are here see Geforce 9300 thats OEM only so is the 205 and the 8300 all OEM only cards, yet i dont see the 8400GT listed here, so is Nvidia wrong did they forget to include support for a card in there driver? oh look the 7650GS and the 6700LE wow they have OEM cards,

Yup. And candle, is that 8400 SE an OEM-only card like the 8300 line?

yep only ever seen it in dell or e-machines. And if anyone is curious why im not at work, I work weekends, weekdays right now im off because where slow, before any questions me.

Now mosh if you can't belive nvidia's own drivers then you really have lost your claim to common sense and to knowing hardware.

I've been told again to let them dig thier own hole. So until they try to mislead another happy gamer into being unhappy, I'm chilling out.

and when someone else shows up below specs we will again tell him to upgrade.

considering an 8400GS is below system requireemnts as well as a pentiumD or Pentium 4 you can't call it trolling guess what thats telling the truth, because last i checked for nvidia it stated 7950 meaning 24 pipelines, 256bit bus, 16rops, and 256mb of video ram, while an 8400GS is 16 shaders, 64bit bus, 4 rops and 64mb of video ram. Last I checked the 7950 would beat it over 300%

As much as I hate this person's attitude regarding framerate and groups (because framerate =/= lag, all 60 fps does is give you what, .1 more seconds to be able to react? what are you a pro gamer? get real)

He is however correct in that some people may 'enjoy' a game at 7fps never realizing the awesomeness that is 60+. Just because they dont know what 60fps looks like, they dont know what theyre missing out on. If him telling them that is 'making them feel bad' (what are we, 6yo's?) thats their own problem, and maybe they should look into upgrading their systems to experience the game the way it was designed to be.

I'm on the forums more when I'm at work than when I'm at home. ;) It takes time to render code or wait for a co-worker's PC to do installs/updates/etc.

nicely put and i don't care if they get 7FPS on there own it only affects group play i learned this the hard way running Uldar10 over in wow, when our healer was getting only 13FPs and admited it and we where dying becase his heals where to late to be helpful, all im tring to do here is help these people out, most people will want to try the endgame at some point and they wont last long if they cant do there job

Your attitude is just as silly as his btw, only on the opposite side of the spectrum. I played WoW on my pc with 5 fps, raiding MC, BWL, Naxx40, Aq40, SSC, BT, Kara, etc etc, 5 fps, just fine. I even enjoyed it, could I have enjoyed it much more with a real fps count? yes. Would i have been happy if someone pointed me towards cheap alternatives that would have allowed me that? yes.

but what was your role in Kara, if DPS yes you where not crucial to the success of the team, and in 40mans and 25mans you can easily get carried lol, heck i got carred in BWL once put another DPS on follow because i had to change a diaper on my neice, I was on my hunter lol, no one missed me why we killed neferion

Thinking of buying a new laptop with following specs.
    Laptop: Asus UL80Vt-A1
Video: Nvidia G210M and Integrated GMA 4500MHD graphics adapter.
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 processor 1.3FHz, Turbo Mode 1.73GHz

Will this run STO with out any problems. If not any suggestions.

    You necroed a month-old thread.

The G210M will get you by, but it's still pretty slow. If you're buying a new laptop, don't settle for a barely-passable GPU. Look for a built-in 250 or better if you want NVIDIA.
