Do you launch through a launcher like ARC or Steam or just use the exe file in the game folder? The launchers check for updates but using the exe direct does not and any update, even a small unannounced one, could cause that error.

I run STO through Steam however like I said it worked just fine and hour or so prior to my post. All I can think of is that the game updated somehow when I went offline and already has the patch from tomorrow on it.

Not sure what happened I was logged in an hour ago went offline for a bid and now I get the Version Missmatch error?
Have you turned off On Demand Patching under Options, turned on Force Verify, let it patch, and tried again?
Actually the force verify fixed it for me, thanks for that I didn't even think of that. However the force verify takes longer then a complete reinstall of the game lol.
