And there's a new party popper, which looks fun.

I haven't used most, but I imagine I will be shooting many lightning balls.

I'm hoping the patrols can be done quickly - or that the episode is fun and has some interesting rewards.

Because I strongly dislike Iupiter Irratus and its drawn-out fights against the same 'invincible' ships as we never get a chance to finish them off for good.

IIRC, the omega particle game was on a timer.. can a Dev confirm there will not be one so we can get the 2 points?

Any pre-Anniversary week-long C-Store giveaways this year? Or have those been discontinued?

They happened last year. They don't usually announce those until day of, though.

I think the Omega game was on a timer. I got around it by doing it on two different captains last year, I believe.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything. :D

You do. When it's time for the console anniversary, which is usually in March.

    Ship's a beauty. Shame it's yet another Temporal-based ship.

Since the assets already exist since the last episode, can we hope to have at least a nice V'Ger/Other styled bridge or is it a lost cause?

    SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

And its both the Fed and Terran ones!
I got it this morning on my main. It is currently just Captain usable, but they just guaranteed I am running that mission on multiple characters. I need lab coat!

If Q is not in the middle of that plaza in front of the Great Hall, its possible he's closer to the dueling arena by the Tailor.

The lab coat looks good. I will have to do that mission tomorrow since life got in the way of STO today and I don't want to start the event this late and have to walk it back to a decent time by four-hour chunks.

The new tfo would be improved if the inquisitor stopped burbling all the sodding time, not that easy to listen to at the best of times and if its a voice that's meant to convey useful information during noisy combat then having the distortion going all the time is the kind of idea that should have been squashed after the hangover that conceived it faded.

Ground patrol is a nope since it seems cryptic have found their supply of boff repellent doors, two days in a row and two different accounts and each run had the boffs refusing to go through them until it was just myself at the transporter.

Space patrol is the generic do this spawn enemies, do that oh shock more enemies. Only surprise is the lack of a 5minute spawnfest to pad the metrics.

Gave up on the story stuff a few entries ago (poorly equipped alternative mirror me episode) don't really care how an actor is being shoehorned into this mirrorverse blender so waiting until I have a good stash of booze and the thing is finally a complete arc.

In the latest episode you're not playing as your mirror counterpart, if that's any consolation.

Personally I had no trouble doing the Jupiter ground patrol by myself, without Boffs. A Sci with high survivability through medical tricorder and a couple of offensive modules made it very easy to be fair.

Bugged for me (reported in the bugs forum) - the final stage of "defend the Khonshu" never completes. One wave of enemies then ::crickets:: as I wait for it to complete or more waves.

Also, I learned today that the Borg do not adapt in that mission. I ran it with a newer toon that didn't have the T3 Omega trait yet, which normally would have meant that I'd have to adapt my phasers every couple of seconds.

I didn't have to remodulate a single time during that mission.

So if you have a toon with the special lobi store phaser split beam rifle, a powerful pulsewave assault or any other multi-target weapon, it's a very fast way of getting daily progress too.

So much more grind with the new system, the older system a few years ago (either 2019 or 2018) required 1000 tokens with 40 per day and a bonus 400 on the first time making it 16 days, now with the new system it's twice the effort per day for 20 days.

That was if you did the 30-minute episode, now you can do patrols and TFOs instead.

Until the Winter event for 2014-15 it was 25 days PER CHARACTER. Single-character unlock, and any new characters created did not get the ship even if you walked through the snow to school uphill both ways with an onion tied to your belt, as was the style at the time :)

I really don't get why particle stabilization has to be decreased compared to the others since it wasn't in the past, in fact why even do the whole 2 and 1 point thing per certain activities, why not just make it 20 progress needed and each activity counting as 1 progress (still limited to 1 progress a day of course).

So I tried the ground patrol today myself. Only had one instance of my BOffs not wanting to go through a door. However it was a simple fix using the commands to manually say "go here" a couple times for 3 of my BOffs. Tarsi came though just fine. (This was on a TOS character)
I've had issues with BOffs and doors a couple times in the past on an actual mission, that was a bit harder to deal with, and even long ago when the Fire Caves were still a thing

never had any more then 1 on this, see some videos of players who have got more but dont know how they manage this as when i am playing & hit 100 points all the particles jump forward several places yet this does not happen on the videos strangely.
never reached enough points to get any more then 1 regardless of how hard i have tried.
now i don't even try just happy with the single reward let the game play out on its own.
can always do multiple goes for each location to get more but if you are short on time this might not be ideal.
even on ground locations where there is only one particle there is usually the corisponding space where more particles are available to scan.
i usually try for 3 of each every day then towards the end just work out how many i need to complete 3 basic tech upgrades.
there is far more better reward stuff in the game either through just playing missions & events or even from the regular giveaways they do in one way or another anyway.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

The Omega game jumps forward because you have missed particles, and the more you miss, the larger the jump. It is not a bug, like a few think.

This is true. If you don't miss any or very few, it doesn't jump at all.

I should have added, if you are on a low-end PC/Laptop, the mini-game is unforgiving due to the graphical lag it induces. Those videos will be of folk on fast machines, usually using the mouse. As my laptop is 8 years old, I stick to using the arrow keys, and still can manage 700-1.2k....if I'm lucky.
