I disagree with your statement of what Abrams and Johnson did with the Star Wars universe, but as you say, that's irrelevant here. And he didn't "kill" Star Trek in any way at all - the fourth Kelvin movie would probably have been out by now, save that the script they had would have needed severe rewriting after Anton Yelchin's untimely passing.

They could have simply recast, though. Slap an overly cartoonish Russian accent on Tom Holland and BOOM! Fourth movie. No rewrite needed.

I don't care that folk don't like Wesley in any form. Just because Emporer Wesley is smug as hell, and looks down on everyone actually makes sense and is bang on the money, especially considering the vitrol some people spew at the character. I say well done Cryptic. It's fantastic acting!

It makes me wonder how many of these people have seen the character beyond Season 1 of TNG (where Wesley was at his worst due the inexperience of the actor (he was 15 at the time) and bad writing), when we get to later seasons Wesley was actually quite good as character.

and yes Mirror Wesley is pretty much spot on, prime Wesley always had a bit of an ego but that was tempered by him being a good guy at heart. So it's rather obvious that mirror Wesley would be a smug person, mirror verse isn't after all 180 turn on the persons personality but often having their negative traits turned up 11 while reducing or outright removing their virtues.

Will Wheaton was an experienced actor, having starred in a fair few things by the time he started TNG. It really was just bad writing with TNG promoting an 'awkward, genius child.' Having been bullied myself for being a 'swot' at secondary school (I really wasn't a swot ), I absolutely empathised with the character too. He absoluted got better with time.

Its also been pointed out that the writers didn't like Wesley, so it could also have been a case of character sabotage. Will had to work with what he was given, and what he was given was pretty bad.

In his commentary on the show, Wil said that it was during the filming of "Justice" that he realized how much the writers hated his character.

So we really can't blame Will for Wesley being a bad character. We can blame the writers.

Personally, I like the idea. I haven't played any of the new content yet (since victory is life). But the idea of beating the absolute TRIBBLE out of Wesley? Oh, that has potential. Make me hate his character more please. It'll make his death at my hands that much more satisfying.

I'm curious as to how Wesley Crusher became emperor of the Terran Empire.

    I'm mean seriously...Wesley?

Was it because of his abilities/powers as a Traveler? (Did he become a Traveler in the mirror universe?) Or was it something else? What's the in-game lore explanation?

Inquiring minds want to know. Oh, and I hope we get to say it.... SHUT UP WESLEY!

Given how often the fanbase loves to bully Wesley Crusher with our "shut up, Wesley!" retorts, I see it fitting that he became the emperor in the Terran universe as a measure of revenge against us.

Coupled with the fact that acting was something Wheaton didn't really want to do at the time. He was being pushed by his parents to continue as after Stand By Me, he was a 'hot property' and was the family breadwinner as a result.

It's why as soon as he was old enough to really (and legally) make his own decisions; he quit for a time, and then slowly returned to acting, but taking parts that really interested him in some way.
