As for the "is there a new bridge" that comes up every time a ship is released, the answer is not hard to understand from a production perspective.

If the bridge asset has been created for a STO adventure, then they will almost certainly offer that as a bridge for a specialty ship.

Otherwise, no, they will not make a new bridge, especially if it wasn't even seen on-screen (like this ship).

Yes, they used to make them when lockbox ships were still a new thing, but that stopped a while ago. It shouldn't be a surprise when they continue to not do something that they haven't done for many years.
    Now a top-rated spotlight mission!

My guess is that this might be a practice ship for the moving parts of Book's ship.

    That said:
1.) It's a 'literal who' ship, and the stats are incredibly underwhelming/don't make up for it. How did this get the green flag for production when almost every other option would be more desirable/profitable? (I'd even take a Shelliak ship before this thing.)

2.) Why was this not put into the Lobi store? It doesn't 'belong' in the Infinity pack. The pack is already over-encumbered and with how underwhelming this ship is, it will be a 'dead' ship due to its scarcity and lack of interest.

Well I can't really answer question one as nobody's seen the ship perform, yet I don't really see a problem adding it to Infinity, as people still have a vast choice to choose from. Lobi however would have been a good choice as others have said I think.

But it does make me wonder, what might the next Lockbox ship be...

Yea I saw the Previews of Discovery Season 4, the new threat kind of surprised me...

I thought we see a little rebuilding or reaching out in the few first episodes of Season 4--perhaps that is occurs as this threat is being Identified. Cause all we saw last season was a brief statement from the Admiral--they'd work to send Dilithium to old Allies.

Pity the crewmen who were transiting the arms when the Captain saw a prize. I can only imagine how much the engineers are paid on one of those. One stuck gear.....

As for the Bridge, it seems the devs put together a single low-res, low-resource bridge that they will now stick on any ship of any faction, rather than devote any resources or time on making bridges at all. I would expect that we will not see a new bridge on any ship unless it's a ship they can't get away giving that bridge to. A sad day when we can no longer look forwards to part of the ships some of us really looked forwards to.

Since this is a raider they probably won't do Book's ship next, I'm thinking either an escort or a cruiser since we just had a science ship with the Janeway, so maybe the Eisenberg or the "32c Constitution"?

I got the watch the first episode for free, and didn't need to see any more. Regardless, I'm happy for the people that enjoy the show that will enjoy, or at least maybe recognize, this ship. For me the stats are somewhat underwhelming and the appearance is, well, ugly. Easy pass and I have Infinity coupons sitting in storage, but not for this mess.

Is it tho...is it really? Because episode 3 was pretty much rock bottom for me...and episode 2 was worse than the first.

I kind of lump episodes 1 and 2 together as one long episode since it's a 2-parter, episode 3 I really don't remember much cause I only watched it the one time when it came out, but the 2-part pilot was definitely the episode that pissed me off the most.

Honestly what I got from the announcement is that we're coming back to another Infinity Box run, which to me means... we may be seeing a new themed lockbox soon as well.

I'm looking forward to any new uniforms with the new lockbox. The Costume Fiend in me wants Space Barbie.

I don't "judge" episodes. But Picard, like Discovery, is on a pay channel. Why would I pay for another service when I didn't like the starter episodes of the only two shows that held any interest for me? Plus I watched quite a few YouTube videos detailing what was going on in the show and none of the show's content was compelling. To be blunt Lower Decks seemed to have more promise than either Discovery or Picard. At least that show wasn't all doom and gloom like the other two.

Regardless, I'm happy for the people that are enjoying the new JJ Trek like series; different strokes for different folks and all. I play all of the content in STO, including the Discovery episodes, and even bought the Gagarin which is fast becoming one of my favorite ships.

    Fair seas.

I watched the entire first season and parts of the second, and I'm not sure I would say the first episode was the worst by a longshot. At least it had interesting shots on a planet and some vestige of how an actual Starfleet ship is supposed to run. Still, I didn't see any point in watching Season Three, so it's possible it got better.

Though, if I were completely honest, I found more story content in a 30-year old music video than most of Discovery's episodes:

But then, that might just be me.

    It's an 'enemy faction' ship..

It's not particularly special.. it wasn't featured and had limited screen time..

It's a ship that most fans, even those that watch Discovery had to go and look up because it just wasn't memorable..

They did give it a cool animation and 'spiced it up' a bit..

This just screams Lobi Ship to me.

It's actually a pretty descent Lobi Ship, one that might generate some interest just because it's kind of unique (sort of) and the 'clicky' looks really cool. It's something I can see someone spending a few hundred million EC on just to fly around and enjoy.. that wouldn't be absurd. It's layout is fairly flexible and you could have some fun with this ship as a low cost option.

But a grand prize Infinity ship? Seriously?

And this is the ship that comes in parallel with the re-run of the Delta Recruits?

    Has Cryptic lost their minds?

    Agreed on everything.
It would be an interesting Lobi ship, but it's not an infinity box ship by any means.

And really, they had the opportunity of using the Delta Recruits to *finally* give people a ship that's been asked for for *7 YEARS* and they go with this TRIBBLE?
Are they trying to make people even more angry and disappointed? Is that it?

I don't know - I'd say that they don't even need to try anymore; they've turned doing that into a fine art.

I mean... you're not wrong. Still doesn't make a lick of sense, though.
    kv1Ohsx.png
Not agreeing with someone doesn't give you the right to be an TRIBBLE.

    - quelli che sono talmente imbesuiti da credere a qualunque cosa i dev dicano, perfino che la luna è fatta di formaggio... e vanno sul forum a trollare;
    - quelli che credono a quello a cui è giusto credere, sono d'accordo con quello con cui è giusto essere d'accordo e sono critici con quello che non va;

"How DARE Cryptic make an expensive ship that I PERSONALLY DON'T WANT! How DARE they???"

    ;)

Moving on, I must say that the ship team did an amazing job taking an asset that was barely seen on screen on Disco (why oh why don't the producers realize some of us LOVE to actually SEE THE SHIPS???) and make it into something that looks really cool and has a slick animation. Nicely done!

STO is becoming the place I actually get to see the deeply neglected ships from the TV shows... and that's a GOOD thing to me!

And even though I don't want to get one, I love that they put the future Janeway in ESD for everyone to see. Do that with all the new ships!

Because...that would take a understanding of reasons why people love Star Trek.

This once off ship was just thrown in as filler, probably was cheaply made like the copy and paste fleet in Picard. Which is exactly what it is here, it's filler while the take their time and decide on things to make the Starfleet ships look flashy (like they did with the photonic cannon)

This seems like more of a CBS decision than anything. Promoting season 3 of discovery but that is my assumption.

Judging by the scavanging animation, this also seems like its based on Naussican Gurumba as well or however its spelled.

That's what I was thinking, too, CBS flexing their muscles -- because, with apologies to anyone to whom this ship is a favorite, I don't think ANYONE was clamoring for this one. Bear in mind, I adore the Oberth, so I'm not claiming my tastes are intrinsically better, but again, who demanded this? (with apologies to old-school Marvel Comics)

You have to understand that that specific question is asked all the time, so those of us who are regulars on the forums can sometimes get rather frustrated about answering it for the 12 thousandth time. While I personally hate the concept of the FCT list and feel it does little more than shut down fun conversation, I kind of think "new bridges" should probably be added to it given how decisively Cryptic has answered that question.

Speaking of Picard and kinda related to this. After getting the Martian Mining Laser, it still baffles me Cryptic is allowed to make accurate game versions of the physical/CGI models of the ships and weapons, even from obscure models like this one.

But accurate sounds from the featured weapons? No luck. I wasn't expecting much from the Mining Laser, but at least I expected the satisfying, piercing sound it made in the show (heard after the 3:06 mark):

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cf2reFNRX-A

Once again, I'm hugely disappointed by the sound of a weapon, after the Kelvin timeline torpedoes and the Tommy gun.

I mean...it's called the JOVIAN raider - Jovian = Mars = Heavily featured in a Picard short and frequently mentioned through Picard - so thinking the ship might be from Picard is understandable, especially given how obscure it is.
