I was joking and even used spore to demonstrate my overall ability to build a ships so... Can only do so much with the tools we have. But here is the thing EVEN SWTOR has been able to fix game glitches on their starting worlds after 7 years of complaining about them. Playing on the mission Taris on console, cannot be completed totally bugged. So it says a lot where game Dev's focus their priority's and what exactly the do with the income they receive from people like us the consumers of their products. Regardless how old the content is its unplayable content and should have been addressed a very long TRIBBLE time ago. That is the difference I am trying to explain to people. there should be no bias from the dev department on something they cater to its not in there job description. The content should work seamlessly after all that is what we initially pay for. As for the Nova I find it kind of disgusting one person holds a bias to the ship in a GAME THEY CREATED for ANOTHER IP and CONSUMERS...
Figured ya was joking about the ten minutes, lol. Hey, I play SWTOR too, lol. Been there since the beginning too. same username just w/o the numbers. I play STO more often tho. Where else can I blow stuff up from my Jem'Hadar T6 Carriers, lol. [/quote]
SWTOR is pretty fun, but yeah blowing up ships is pretty cool! I have been on consoles now for over a week because my PC crapped out. But a friend of mine lent me his PS3 Because he got me playing Defiance. I Tried it on the PS4 Defiance 2050, I must say its pulling me away from STO. All I am doing now on STO is logging in on console just to do the winter race daily then its off to Defiance to play all day long.
In comparison the combat is far better, and the store is there, but its not like STO. In the sense its not as bottlenecked To gate you to the store. But the PS3 version and PS4 version are nearly identical, But things in the original Defiance carry over to 2050. The game play is mostly shooter style but all missions are open world, and Arkfall Hunting is a ton of fun as well. With the store you basically unlock the classes, however all classes can be unlocked for free grinding reputations. In all to sum it up I think once the winter event daily's I am doing are done, I wont be playing STO that much I don't think, biggest reason is in Defiance is I don't feel pressured to get things done like events or other missions. I can actually enjoy the game and take my time.

My main game used to be Defiance, especially since it was an adrenalin fest I could play in very short bursts to wake up from homework grogginess in college, but I drifted away from it when they started doing things like making the in-game stores gamble-based, trying to turn endgame into a token-dependent lobby format, then split the already small playerbase by introducing 2050. As as you pointed out the combat system is better and flows instead of being klunky.
I even tried 2050 and it was worse than the changes they made to the original game. I still pop in now and then (mostly to the original) because the arkfall/incursion format is a quick wakeup different from the games I mainly play now (STO, ESO, Secret World Legends, sometimes BDO and SWTOR in jags) but the game definitely lost a lot of appeal and uniqueness.
That is a road I hope STO does not go down much further, the unique aspects of the game took a big hit with the loss of the Foundry and intergame chat with CO and Neverwinter regardless of what the statistics said.

Which is kind of interesting i logged in after making this post to find i was somehow gifted a lifetime patron Subscription and had a TRIBBLE ton of Free Claims... So i can say this much my new home will be the original Defiance and 2050 for quite some time...
EDIT: also after I Had Seen this I Sent in a ticket to see if its a bug, no official email response, but since then the timer has stopped ticking down, so its permanent it seems.

It could take a whopping "Ten Minutes" if that to make one look decent
EDIT: Ok all Joking aside if this is a CBS sanctioned game then why cant they borrow some or a lot of the CG modeling from TNG and other Star Trek shows? its all made already for 3D inceptions... and I Stress the word " Borrow "
They can and have. That said, a model designed for VFX work in TV/Film is A LOT different from the models in this game. It's not just 'load and convert' via setting a few options and click a few UI buttons. They are made for completely different purposes and as a result, it may be easier just to remake a compatible model from scratch (using the CBS model as a visual guide; but either way it takes A LOT longer than 10 minutes.

No kidding ! I mean it must have been mentioned over five times how the ten minutes comment is in NO WAY possible! I knew it was an exaggeration the moment I read it and took it as a joking comment, but now you see how some in the community here just dying to point out the same thing even AFTER you said it was a joke!
"There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life." - Ten Bears (Will Sampson)

It Was as if that was the only statement in the entire thread LOL! Feel like I am in the Twilight Zone....
EDIT: Thought I would toss a bit of my gameplay of Defiance here
2. It could take a whopping "Ten Minutes" if that to make one look decent, Heck I am pretty sure I could doodle
Concept art is one thing. Making a 3d Model that is compatible with existing parts for kitbashing is another, including textures for ALL hull materials and even existing shield visuals. On top of that there's stats, BOff layout, special console, starship trait...
For the record I too feel the Nova is due for a T6, but its going to take longer than 10 minutes. Ship design probably takes months from concept art to finished product.
Except Cryptic literally never once actually made this comment. This was something the forums made up as a meme after Cryptic said Delta Rising was the most profitable expansion ever.
Um the LEAD DEVELOPER Al Rivera (Captain Geko) stated it on a Podcast interview. Is the rest of your knowledge about ridiculous statements by Cryptic Devs as faulty?
I ask because it was one of MANY times Al Rivera has put his foot in his mouth over the life of this game. It's probably why they don't let him do interviews regarding STO anymore. Hell, this Dev has put a number STO EPs "under the bus" stating things that DIDN'T come to pass (in one instance he claimed he knew more than the EP who was in charge and OPENLY contradicted a statement where said EP stated a piece of content WOULD be in an Issue; stating there was no way said piece of content would make it in time, regardless of the EP's statement. (In the end, said content WAS in the Issue when released so Al was WRONG again.)
^^^
This all occurred fairly early in STO's 'life' (Issue #4).
But bottom line - the "Delta rising is the BEST expansion ever - and the player love it...", was stated by Al Rivera (a Cryptic Lead Dev) - and he's never lived it down.
