The ship is in great condition. It’s a California-class ship, which has always existed in Starfleet — [this is] what we’re saying — that they’re the utility support ships. In the California-class [line], there are three types of hull painting: there’s blue, red, and yellow.
We’ve extended the visual metaphor of the uniforms to the ships, and the Cerritos has yellow on the hull because it’s primarily a second contact engineering ship. They show up to planets that need engineering stuff done on them in order to be able to communicate with the Federation.
There’s also, you’ll see in the show, blue-hulled California class ships, which are usually deployed to places where there has to be more medical expertise, and red-hulled ships that are like for moving around ambassadors and doing more command-level stuff.
Three-ship Bundle confirmed!

Its current Trek, its official Trek, it will get attention and will have a lot of people interested in it just because of its bad rep. So yeah, expect it in some way or form in the game. Probably even with some goofy tie in missions with the voice cast from the show that really show your crew how things are not done.
To throw a little bit of "devil's advocate" here... we don't know for certain that the general STO license would include it. If it doesn't then they have to make special arrangements. Which has been done in several cases, but is not automatic.

When the new Trek shows started the devs said their license applies to all the new shows. And as others have pointed out, the free doffs they are giving away makes this obvious in this case as well.

She'll be coming to STO. Just not sure in what capacity. We may get a T6 version with the show version as customization parts to justify having her in game despite being a support ship rather than a frontline one.
Will we be getting the California class as a playable ship?
The only reference i can find with California and star trek is an Excelsior Class which is already in the game.
If you mean another class then providing a link might be useful.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

It is the ship from the new show Lower Decks.
You mean the trashed miranda design someone, for some reason, saved from the trash bin?
Cannot imagine anyone spending a proverbial penny on something that hideous.

One man's trash is another man's treasure.
The Cali is a workhorse ship. She's not the plum assignment like a Sovy. If people are willing to fly freighters in STO, people will fly a Cali.
Me personally... if people want it they want it. *shrug*

I mean what I said. It doesn't actually matter if you like it or not, I was telling you what the OP was talking about.

Personally: Dear Gawd! I hope not! It's but-fudge ugly. Only the Crossfield is worst!
Realistically: The Devs'll throw it to us. Most likely it'll be a T6 lockbox, but... I could see it as another scalable T1-T4 CStore ship or grind-ship. That would seem to fit the scope of the ship class anyways...

Cryptic, would you actulaly like me to spend actual Money? It's Simple:
Full, Story-driven, select from start 1-50 Klingon Side
Scrap current Lock Box & Lobi system for something more reasonable
Expand Dil and Rep/Fleet Marks to regular story content
It would not necessarily have to be a T1-T4 like the Maru, it is essentially an engineering/planetary science ship, and that toughness and versatility would lend itself very well to a Q-ship role which would be an interesting T6 ship. In fact, I could see it as a miracle worker light cruiser quite easily.
And yes, it does look rather dumb but that is true of most of the CBS Trek ships anyway (don't get me started on the DSC Klingon ships) so it is nothing out of the ordinary nowadays. CBS would have done better to canonize STO or FASA original designs, or at least hire some people that are not stuck on that art deco derived dross, but it is what it is.
The funny thing is, a ship almost exactly like the California class appeared in TAS, a flattish saucer with that squarish hoop arrangement of engines underneath the saucer, though it just had four rather short nacelles down there on the crossbar instead of two normally proportioned ones and the engineering pod like the California has, so there is actually a bit of precedent for the design.
There was another wicket style ship in TAS too, a rectangular main hull, two normal nacelles, and that same hoop only that one had it on top with some kind of square modules on it, possibly cargo containers. Those wicket arrangements seem to be an animation favorite in Trek.

I think the Odyssey class might be on its way to canon status, considering its appearance in the Picard prequel comic.
Well the 3 versions: Engineering, Medical, & Command have already been discussed so they could go the route of making 3 slightly different versions probably differentiated by: modified console slotting, BOFF seating, ship abilities, &/or give the Medical a secondary-deflector, or the easier route of just 1 ship with 3 different paint-jobs.
I think Cryptic should make the ship as close to looking animated/cartoonish as possible for distinction & humor.
Nobody gets to complain about ugly ships as long as those Breen office blocks are polluting the skies.
I'm sorry...but the breen ships are down right smexy compared to some of those Michael Burnham show klingon ships.
QFT, quoted for truth! I have been re-watching old episodes of ST Disco recently, and as always when I watch something for a second time, I am noticing a lot more of the background stuff like ship designs. The overall thing I am reminded in watching this show again is how mixed it is; sometimes quite good and sometimes really bad.
Style and design are two things I find most repugnant. I hate what they did with the Klingons, (as I did with JJ Trek), and some of the ship designs are, (stops and thinks how to say this without getting "jailed"), not to my taste.

Do you think Cryptic likes money?
If you can answer that question, then you can probably figure out the answer to your question too

But honestly, I already know the answer to that.
