What's truly amazing to me is that this is a lockbox and not a promo ship. For all the talk of Cryptic's greed, they would have made more money from a promo pack.
The cube will be the promo ship

"No. Men do not roar. Women roar. Then they hurl heavy objects... and claw at you." -Worf, son of Mogh

But seriously, they could have done both as promo ships (at different times of course). I genuinely find it "interesting" that Cryptic choose to go the "standard" lockbox avenue on a ship that will be this popular.
Oh wait, that's when we get the tactical cube promo ship next week
(Note: We don't actually get a cube next week.)
More seriously, I want to see more views of it but I'm also interested in the armor, kits, traits, and new Plasma weapons.
I don't have the link for it, but it's on Youtube. It looks big, so queue the complaints about 'lame turn-rate' et al.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
Sorry for those BORG deniers and those who kept on trolling that there never EVER would be a BORG playable ship in STO.
What people (including the devs) said was not that there would never be a Borg ship, it was that cubes and spheres were not practical to fly with STO's engine and so were not likely to ever appear as player ships. Probes and assimilated-but-unconverted ships were never a problem, just not a priority (probably until Picard turned out to be so Borg-centric).
Picard'll give us a hot of new ships down the line I bet. As someone with a romulan captain I'm cautiously excited that we'll see a ton of romulan centric stuff
It looks like this is Cryptic's response for the players asking for a Borg faction. Although, we did get a lot of Jem'Hadar ships before the Jem'Hadar micro-faction was released.
Why only get peoples money once when you can always double-dip?
That is an interesting video. I am not a big fan of asymmetric ships in general, but it does not look bad overall. It reminds me of a few EVE Online ships in a way, but even more of a ship in an old tabletop RP called "Space Opera" (though that one was more of a self-moving mobile space station built by that game's equivalent of the alien Grays, who looked like mix of traditional Grays and the OA from DC comics).
It sounds like it might kick off another wave of power creep if the devs are not careful though. The new systems are interesting.

the tactical cube will be ZE promo ship with 10 weapon slots, heavy pets (probes) etc

Gotta grab as much money as possible before lockboxes get outlawed in certain countries and they remove those players from the server:p
Lobi Ship? They don't do that anymore except for T6 Upgrades to existing Lobi Store T5s. We have had multiple Lockboxes now where they haven't had an associated Lobi Ship. It's Lockboxes and Promotions only.

Yeah, are we sure it's a Borg ship?! Cuz if it doesn't look like a duck, doesn't quack like a duck, chances are, it's no duck.
Its never really been stated what that ship is exactly. Whether it was a borg design of some kind or something they assimilated partially and were using that belonged to someone else. Though watching the episode it was in I always assumed it was originally a borg cube and its design was intended to imply that it was the result of the now individual borg being unable to work together properly to maintain their ship so it ended up having multiple borg doing different things that led to the weird shape. Its never been confirmed one way or the other but it does make sense in terms of the episode
Just a note, in the video the Borg collective faction flag is on the ship. So hints at a mini-faction?
I will be very surprised if there isn't a cooperative faction coming at this point. Though not for that reason. They don't use the collective faction flag so I don't know what thats all about, unless its a deliberate use of the collective flag to avoid inadvertently revealing such a faction early
That said, I would expect such a faction to be using a probe ship as its default faction ship. Likely T5U, as its the only one that really fits given cubes and spheres aren't practical as player ships

If you're talking about the lockbox ship, i believe it's Hugh's ship from that one TNG episode and Delta Rising.

Correct. And it was a good episode for those that haven't seen it!
