A T6 Exeter Class

ensignrandensignrand Member Posts: 61 Arc User
Greetings, I was wondering/hoping/asking for a Purchasable T6 Exeter class cruiser. People atleast seem to like the Constitution class ship, but everytime you put one out its in a lockbox. It would be ok if it were possible to actually win one, but it seems only the same ppl win those things repeatedly. How about you finally place one in the Zen store for us unlucky many that may want one but haven't been able to win it. Thanks for reading this :)

Been requested many times. Been shot down by CBS many times. People have even suggested locking out the Connie parts. Still... Cryptic cannot overrule CBS, and CBS still, to my knowledge, says no to any Connie variant in the C-store.

    Not true.

Also, anyone can get a Connie by buying from the Exchange, with Energy Credits.

You can grind millions of credits through admiralty and personal endeavors. You can get the rest by buying lock box keys and promo (not regular!) R&D boxes for zen and then selling them on the exchange for credits. You can get some of that zen by selling refined dil on the exchange.

100% success rate, no gambling at all, everyone with the credits wins every time.

I don't think that's accurate. The whole "CBS" thing goes back to the connie being an end game ship. CBS supposedly said no to that, and that has obviously changed. However I don't think I have ever seen any "real" quote from a dev stating that CBS said connies cannot be sold in the store. If anyone thinks they have such a quote, feel free to post it though.

Regardless of who is responsible, the fact remains that there will never be anything Constitution-related in the C-Store that's higher that T2. Not even Cryptic-original designs that are simply inspired by it, apparently.

Also, it seems like the same few people who always seem to win a T6 Constitution probably because most players don't have the money to throw away in order to get one. Either real money or EC, it ain't exactly cheap either way.

Back in the day, Les Moonves had the entire Board in a contentious three-day meeting where all they argued about was whether any variant of an Endgame Constitution/Exeter could be put up for sale in the C-Store. They also argued about which parts had to be locked in the Ship Tailor.

This incident almost brought down CBS. ;)

The OP's idea is a non-starter. A request not based in reality unfortunately.

how do you figure the same people win every time? I got lucky twice, so my AOY toon flies a connie and my klink flies a D7, the best design ever put on the screen, IMHO.

That console was fun in the day, never good but fun. The ship itself though doesn't deserve a second thought in my opinion.
Is there not enough TOS inspired tra.. err ships around with the whole AoY series of ships.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

It's true that you can get 3 different TOS-inspired designs in the C-Store by buying the T2-T5 ships that match the T6 versions, total cost 3,750 - 5,000 zen normal prices, 20-50% less on sale.

The Ranger was a good design. Also I believe you mean 4 designs.

Also... the Discovery ships can use TOS hull materials so you can go that way too if you like the look of those ships as well. I think since my main has the NX Refit, I also have access to the NX materials as well... might have to experiment with that.

The TOS hull material does not really help the Discoprise much for those who want the TOS version, it is still clunky and off looking compared to the original since the DSC designers are either unaware of the golden ratios the ship was designed with or chose to make it clunky and unflowing on purpose. And the weird proportions just seem to distort the skin instead of the skin helping to make the proportions flow better.

Everything from the proportions to the angles and curves are hit and miss, none of it has the organic flow of the original, which had a smoothly finished spiral-segment golden-ratio based Googie influence rather than the bare metal circle-segment and square semi-Brutalist style influence of DSC. I am not saying the Discoprise looks bad in of itself (it has a kind of no-nonsense retro-industrial feel which fits the grimmer tone of DSC for instance), rather that the style difference is a lot more than some people seem to think and the two are not really particularly compatible aesthetically.

I just put the Fel'kri Vanity Shield on the Discovery Constitution and it looks good. Tried the Discovery Reputation Vanity Shield and it made the ship look like it had a case of smallpox. I was using the Bozeman before and that was good too.

And by the way, Smoke had the Comic Book Guy stuff. I trademarked the CBGC©®™ (Comic Book Guy Consortium). Please respect the Copyright. :)

    1.2 - 1.4 billion to be accurate.

If you want to pay cash, it will be around $175, more or less depending on whether or not you buy zen while it is on sale, and whether or not you buy keys or promo R&D packs and then hold them for a couple of weeks to let the exchange prices for the keys/packs go back up again. You can reduce the cash amount by as much as you have patience for grinding EC and dil by playing the game.

Cheap? No. Worth it? That's up to you.

I haven't gotten a Connie yet myself, but I own the Tholian, Herald, Xindi sets and a few other random lock box and lobi ships. It took years to build my armada though. If you want it now, open your wallet.

There are many handy guides on the forum that show you how to quickly and painlessly get any 'box' ship you desire.

Your time is likely best spent following one of those guides, rather than waiting for CBS/Cryptic to have a change of heart.

Personally I think the TMP era Constitution still looks best, but I generally don't care for the Constitution in all its forms.

Whilst I realise it's a Lock box prize ship, I still feel that the TOS Dreadnought (aka Atlas class) is the best looking TOS-era ship in the game.

The Atlas is a pretty good looking ship. Not only that... its the Granddaddy of the Command Battlecruisers too!

Or, at least, a facelift to the Exeter skin would be welcome, it realy shows it's age, as many other old Cryptic designs, tjey are good, just need more detail, because the news ships details are awesome.

Davefenestrator, not everyone has money like that to just throw around. Besides I thought we weren't suppose to buy stuff from those sites ;). At any rate, I'm not sitting around just begging/hoping/waiting for Cryptic/CBS to have a change of heart. I have LOTS of ships to choose from, includung the Kelvin Connie & the Atlas Dreadnought (agreed reyan01, luv the Atlas design :) ). Ty equinox967, didn't realize there were guides out there for scoring a lockbox ship (but really should've lol), I'll have to take a look. I agree avoozuul, TMP Connie is just so.... iconic :). I figured I'd ask for a upgrade to the Exeter since yes, there are already T6 Connies out there from the boxes, but the Exeter is a ship you can just buy and it's already a redesigned spaceframe that should be able to handle upgrade to a modern era ;).
