Hey folks,
There is going to be some extended maintenance this week on PC, and a general change to our maintenance schedule.
Tuesday, September 25th
We'll have maintenance
on all platforms starting at 5am PT and running for ~ 5 hours.
What Time is this is for me?Wednesday, September 26th
We'll have maintenance
on PC beginning at 5am PT and running for ~ nine hours.
What time is this for me?
Because of this extended maintenance, there will be
no PC maintenance on Thursday, 9/27, and we will once again be extending the Breach Event on PC by a day.
Thanks so much for your patience, folks.

I'M Running WIN7 64 ,dual AMD 6870 in crossfire , I7 @3.40 , i know my rig is old but i am not buying new GPU for an 8 year old comp to play a 10 year old game.
Not sure what that's related to.
However until a couple months ago, I ran an AMD 6790, and STO ran perfectly.
In fact, I'm currently running an RX 480, and I'm on driver version 16.2.1, because anything later is the charred remains of a dumpster fire set by AMD. STO still works perfectly fine.
My machine is a first-gen Core i7 920.
Every week after server updates i have what looks like driver issues , stuttering , rebounding , severe FPS drop when i enter combat , by severe i mean my FPS goes from 30-45 fps to 2 fps. The crimson edition drivers look great when i first log in then i crash to desktop as soon as i enter combat.
Don't forget your hardhat.
Last nvidia cards i had burned up in less than a year , say what you want about AMD but this set is 8 years old , nvidia has never built anything that lasts.
@ambassadorkael#6946,
While you made a detailed and greatly appreciated explanation of the "extended maintenance" going on this week,
you seem to have forgotten to make any mention at all of the "general change to our maintenance schedule".
Are we changing from Thursdays to Tuesdays? Is the start time of the weekly maintenance changing to 5am?
Please elaborate on exactly what you mean by this.
Thank you.
I´ve took a look, and your GPU is somewhat of a Nvidia 750 in performance. STO should run really fine with this card. And its on the supported list for STO.
The only time we have "regular" maintenance on Tuesdays is with large releases or if Thursday lands on a holiday here in the US. So I don't think anything is changing at all. And as for the start time... I think that's an attempt at not cutting into prime game time for the US. Its possible that in general that time period is actually a point of low pop in the servers anyways. Kinda like how some state fairs "go dark" on days that are traditionally the lowest attendance days.
The estimates for Tuesday have changed to 5.5 hours for PC and 5 hours for Console.
Thanks for being patient.
The Tuesday maintenance had been announced via https://www.arcgames.com/en/arc-news/detail/10999993-arc-scheduled-maintenance-september-2018 a while ago
Say what you want, but I'm playing STO with am Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT, which came out in 2008. So This 10 year old game runs fine for me on my 10 year old Nvidia card, which has lasted all that time.
Of course, Lighting 2.0 doesn't work on it, but I never liked bloom and lens flare anyway.
It's not as if this is a regular thing. Sometimes extended maintenance is required to benefit players in the long run.
Yeah, I know. It was a joke.
Just sayin.
l don't know.
l really don't know what l'm about to say, except l have a feeling about it.
That l must repeat the words that come without my knowledge.'
Or both...
Just sayin
lighting 2.0 is way more than just bloom and lenzflare - the old lighting system had both those things, btw - it's the difference between 'being able to see where the f*ck you're going on DS9' and 'stumbling around in pitch blackness where you're likely to be eaten by a grue'

A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch."
"We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"
I have had a little of this in Breach runs for the event. It's not too bad, at least from what I have noticed, but I have seen plenty of players complain in chat about the lag and rubberbanding lately.
As I said in another thread, the ship has already sailed for October 2nd. We would have had the Infinity Lock Box return, presumably with Discovery Lock Box items added just in time for the Discovery-themed update, after maintenance on the 20th if it was going live on the 2nd.
However, this is more likely an ISP issue or an IP conflict or any other number of issues, not a server issue. I'm in the UK and I get no observable lag or rubberbanding and that's despite not using a proxy.
LMAO aint that the truth, this is the only game in the 30yrs I have been playing that has so many maintenance windows and during the day. Usually maintenance windows are at night not 5am (8am EST) to 10am (1pm EST). I rather it just be down for a week and you guys do a complete overall to fix issues.
