There is no good reason that the caps should not be wearable anywhere with no prerequisites. As noted here, both ENT and ST: Beyond had uniform caps, as did the Kelvin timeline.

That said, however, I do wonder if the caps take into account things like Andorian antennae...

The funny thing is you think you proved anything at all. Math on the ship only takes you so far, it doesn't account for all possible combinations of gear, skill tree builds, spec trees, traits, rep passives, Boff skills, Active Doffs, etc etc etc. There are literally billions of possible combinations and there is no possible way you ran the math on all of them, unless you got a supercomputer up your sleeve.

See, I don't need to run billions of calculations to understand that a ship with 5 Dual Cannons and 3 Turrets will always do more damage than a ship with 3 Dual Cannons and 5 Turrets. You're seriously overcomplicating things here. You don't need to run numbers when the ONLY difference on the Ytijara is that it has one more weapon aft than fore. Why in the heck would I calculate DOffs and consoles when there's already several ships that function identically in those aspects?

Assuming identical loadouts across the board (IE, all of everything being the same, except for weapon slots), an optimal 5/3 cannon build will ALWAYS outpace a 3/5. Dual Cannons do more damage compared to turrets, that is undeniable. Ergo, the Ytijara is not suited for that kind of build. Now sure, you could argue that it may be stronger when facing away from your opponent, but if you're letting that happen for more than a second at most each battle, you're just a bad pilot and not flying at properly efficient levels.

I then continue using my COMMON SENSE and rule out every other build type. The only thing the Ytijara can do better is that it can have 5 mines instead of only 3 or 4. That doesn't work, however, as testing any normal ship with a mine build clearly proves you'll run into cooldown problems almost constantly. You MAY be able to run 5 tricobalt mine launchers and be able to possibly outdo other ships, but that single build is so microscopic compared to the entire rest of the game that it just doesn't matter. And yes, THAT argument actually was researched.

But my point is, you don't need to calculate the minutia because you can prove that, when set in equal playing fields, the Ytijara will come out as equal to other ships AT BEST. Except it looks ugly too ;D

Now honestly, just stop trying. I'm running out of ways to explain common sense and basic deductive reasoning. You're smart enough to understand these concepts, you're just grasping at arguments that aren't there. Why else would I need to explain such simple concepts?

In any case, unless you somehow manage to come at me with a point of ANY substance whatsoever, I'm not going to reply. Consider this a favor. You won't have to deal with me any more, so please, drop it.

I'm almost willing to bet the hat will override normal options and give you a standard human head. Kinda like Caitians having furless hands with the 7 of 9 outfit.

Cryptic never needed a good reason to put restrictions on clothing.

I would expect not. Previous hats have removed characters' hair and even beards. I'll be surprised if a human remains fully featured with a cap on, much less species with extra head bits.

Why even bother? The console and mastery trait really worth it to go through the grind and hassle of this event? Not for me.

Never mind... Hubby just told me it was only Monday. LOL!
I gotta get the Orion to Level 10, still..... What is the point of having an Orion if she can't get a swim suit because you forgot to unlock the store on her?

Orions can already wear their own exclusive bikinis, I'd have thought that would be good enough.

I like the colors they have in the swimsuit palette.

Besides, my Orion is not wearing a bikini all the time.

Its the Risa Summer event and instead of new swimsuits or summer themed outfits for a tropical island we get baseball uniforms? Really???? Why Cryptic, why in the name of the Nagus? Why? -_-

They ran out of out ideas...I guess they think baseball might be a global or even a galactic sports. Yes it was on Ds9. However, for most of the world it is a foreign sport. Now soccer is more global and more accepted in the world.

If they wanted to be more inclusive should have come up with Fishing, boat racing or similar. This is a meh mode. I come to summer to take clothes off not to wrap up in some more fugly baseball uniforms.

    "Grind and hassle?" Lol. :D

If 5 minutes a day is "grind and hassle," why play the game at all?

No, Risa will still be the land of the Midnight Sun. They cannot fix the issue as it is related to the basic fundamentals of Lighting 2.0

I guess some people don't realize that there are professional baseball teams worldwide, and that it's an Olympic sport.

    Star Trek baseball

    24th century Teams.
    Niners
    Logicians
    Cestus Comets
    Pike City Pioneers
4 unnamed teams on Cestus III

This is off memory-alpha jus tlooking up baseball. If you hop over to memory-beta you can find

If you also look up Cetus III on Memory-Alpha you'll find.

    http://memory-alpha.wikia.com/wiki/Cestus_III

In 2371, the colonists formed a baseball league with six teams, including the Cestus Comets and the Pike City Pioneers. Kasidy Yates's youngest brother lived on Cestus III and invited Sisko and his sister to see a live baseball game at the colony in 2372. (DS9: "Family Business", "The Way of the Warrior")

A few more things to say.

First, I don't see why ANY outfit is restricted. Just take a look at the Orions running around in their "uniform" bikinis, and Orion and Cardassian men get to go completely topless, yet anyone else who wants to do the exact same thing is sequestered off to Risa. Totally unfair treatment, in my opinion. If they don't want me facing off with T'Ket half-naked in my underwear, they should make that a rule for ALL players. Or we'll just end up with a steadily increasing number of pink-skinned Orion women
Hear, hear. Do away with the stupid restrictions let us combine everything freely.

The restrictions aren't even consistent. Somethings are restricted others aren't with no reason why. Even stuff like the board shorts and shirts that are entirely normal clothes with a colorful texture, get all restricted just because they're from Risa. We'll have to see what fate the baseball stuff gets this year.

I'm in total favor of removing category restrictions on available costume pieces for characters. Put all the options in one big pile and let the players be more creative. Maybe then finally I can have costumes where I don't have to worry about editing because of a recent category reclassification rendering a saved outfit unavailable because of some new mix and match rule that was thought up breaking an outfit I made.
Green people don't have to be.... little.

Problem is clothing items could have clipping issues when mixed with another clothing item.

    Yeah...eternal sunset/sunrise...would look much prettier. :)
Though I liked the full moon in the back drop when I was taking Risa pics with my characters, too.

You know, THIS would be a good use of a Holodeck....give us a place to see Risa during the night...even if just for screen shots.

I am hoping that at some point they do a lighting 2.1/2.5/3.0 and add back the light cycle, that add a lot of Risa, In fact I think that all community maps should have it.

So I begin the rant and say that I am disappointed that console players never got the chance to fly the vorgon carrier from last years summer event, this year. As was the case when we got given the xyfius escort which was the prize from the previous year on pc. Is it the case that pc and console are now synchronised for this event. During the 8th anniversary we were given the opportunity to get the lukari ho’kuun ship from the cstore and the bajoran interceptor from collecting the vouchers.

This time around there is no opportunity to get the vorgon carrier, only the dreadnought cruiser. There will probably be a lot of disgruntled players who thought we would be working towards aforementioned carrier and not weird weapon layout Vessel which constitutes this years prize.

Would Cryptic/Perfect World like to comment on why we the console players are not given the vorgon carrier as a character claim from the cstore, just like the lukari ship during the anniversary event?

My first impression of Risa? There's too much racing. Way too much racing.

I'm not a fan of competition when I'm supposed to be relaxing, and I'm not very good at it either. Where the rest of the events are much more calm easygoing.
  • postagepaidpostagepaid Member Posts: 2,899 Arc User
I brought that up earlier in this thread when I noticed that the in game info on PS4 had swapped from the carrier over to the dreadnought with no explaination as to why. Kael has since vanished off on holiday so we'll likely never get a decent reason why.

If they wanted to do the decent thing by players they'd have simply given the option to run tasks for either carrier or the new one and allowing players to catch up rather than having to pander to the gamblebox system where the carrier is no doubt going to be dumped.

The lukari ship got dumped in the gamblebox before it was even given a chance of being won which is why console folk had only that as a per character, rather than the account unlock, meaning you can't dismiss it and reclaim later or indeed claim on future character.

All they're doing is promoting a sense of why should we (the players) spend money on the game when they treat the platform as an afterthought.
