This is a link from the latest Trek yards and this is a fan made ship.

Best way I can describe it, Starfleet Battlestar. And she's one bad ship. I would NOT want to fight one.

Here's the link, check it out.

Hey cryptic, might want to hire this guy to design ships for ya.

Resisting my uber-geek at pointing out the obvious glaring flaw in the design!!! Sorry, can't.....The Warp nacelles wouldn't provide a wide and stable enough warp-bubble in that config. from what I understand, despite their being 4! Too OP, but nice weapon systems, way too many fighters, and the bad rear and middle section of the defiant/mid sovvy kitbashing (when you view the dorsal). Nice Saucer though.

If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

the video thumbnail before i even started it shows what it looks like: Fugly design, especially around the nacelles!

Looks like someone simply glued a Voyager saucer to a Defiant hull and moded it a bit.
  • jonsillsjonsills Member Posts: 10,476 Arc User
The saucer's from an Intrepid, the body's an outsize Defiant or Sao Paulo, and the warp nacelles put me more in mind of SR-1 Normandy than anything else - do the pylons slide out like a turian ship?

Also, since battlestars belong to a different universe with different rules about how spacecraft work, making a "Starfleet battlestar" just seems like overall a poor design decision to me.

Eh... I don't see where people are saying the Saucer is from an Intrepid. Looks more like a Sovereign style to me.

no, cryptic really shouldn't hire this guy...they already have one new ship artist who designs vomit-inducing abominations - they don't need a second

it is the arrow head shape on the saucer, however i always considered voyager to be an upside down spoon with nacelles rather than arrow shaped.

it looks like cross between a nova rhode island, voyager and the sovvie with warship voyager hull turrets.
the engineering section looks like a cross between a prometheus engineering section, the original excesior and a defiant with two modified akira nacelles glued together either side.

    very ugly kitbash.

Starfleet already has a couple of ships in STO that would fall under the Battlestar trope.

Personally.. I like it.. but I don't think it would be right for STO.

This thing is made to take on waves of starships, it's simply too powerful to be a player accessed ship.
    Insert witty signature line here.

It's garbage, pure and simple, utter tripe. The way the nacelles are placed cries rudimentary by design, there is really nothing unique about this vessel that stands out, it feels like it was put together like lego blocks from other parts of other starships. It is simply a bloated Sovy with poor aft hull design and nacelle design.

Why Trek yard profiled this heap of garbage is beyond me, they must be desperate to put new ship design content ion their program. Sry thumbs down all the way for this design, the designer had good intentions but the delivery was very poor.

What fan made ship isn't OP? :D

It's an interesting looking ship, but not sure we need anymore dreads/battleships. Now if Cryptic wanted to make it a supercarrier with 4 hangers...

I’d prefer to see that 4-nacelle Oddy. That is a nice looking ship. Could do without the MVAM though.

Ok guys. I'll give you the overall design is pretty fugly. Like an Intrepid and a Soverign had a bad 1 night stand. However some of the design elements are nice.

Delta fighters look outstanding, the torpedo launchers look good to me along with the pulse phaser cannons.

But yes overall design does leave a bit much to be desired, but I'd love to toss a few of those big torpedo launchers on something like my Jupiter or a couple under slung on say my Vesta class.
