Nova, Aurora, Quasar, Rhode Island Refit... One is not like the other.
I guess Equinox would not make a good class name, since there isn't neccessarily a positive association with the Equinox. (Reliant for the Light Cruiser works IMO, because the Reliant crew died in the service of the Federation, and thus deserves to be honored. But the Equinox crew and its captain have "gone bad", basically... Even if it was in a sucktastic situation.)
What other bright objects in the (night?) sky exist? (We already got Luna...) Venus is the brightest planet.
I suppose they could also use Sol.
Pulsar could perhaps also work.
If we're sticking with astronomical terms, then how about the Zenith? or its opposite, the Nadir?
word on the player grapevine is that a T6 miranda is actually coming soonish, along with the miradorn raider and husnock warship - take that with a big grain of salt, though
The Science Vessel with Command seating should be a T6 Luna. The T6 Nova should have Pilot seating IMHO.
I dunno. I have moments where I think I need a T6 Nova with Intel seating and a cloaking device.
NEED.

This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

The Nova is a science vessel. You're never going to get a sci ship with a 4:3 weapons loadout. That's an escort layout.
Why not? It's T6, why not give it some teeth?
Also, no sub-sys targeting? Secondary deflector? Nobody would buy this. There's already many viable sciscort options to be had currently.
Sorry, I thought those were already implied by it being a science vessel and existent on the existing Nova, I was proposing additional features, I thought some basics like that, would go without saying

Science ships have plenty of teeth without needing more than a 3/3 layout. If you want to brute force beam spam kill things, that's what escorts and cruisers are for.

...because that would sort of defeat the purpose of it having a secondary deflector and sub-sys targeting. I know non-meta builds can be viable, but it's really not a sci ship if your primary damage source is beams. We're *supposed* to be all about the space magic.
It sounds to me like what you want is an escort with all the sci ship advantages. The devs are never going to do that.

I wasn'rconsidering 4 fore as meaning beams, but to allow variety. Beams, turrets and torpedos, for example, or four different torpedos for a nice torp boat
Not quite 'what I want' as such, but I'm bearing this in mind. The Novas we've seen, the Equinox and Rhode Island, were badass AF and massively OP compared to their stature. When we were introduced to the Equinox, it had spent years in the Delta Quadrent getting bent over the barrel by everything and everyone they encountered. Half the crew was dead, the ship itself was severely damaged, and yet it was Still able to give Voyager a run for its money. So transpose that performance to an undamaged, fully-functional ship. It's going to be EPIC! Leveling up, I pushed a Nova as far as possible theough use of vr rank-appropriate consoles. I forget exactly which mission was finally too much for it (maybe the one going up against a d'Deridex) but I have to say, it did not disappoint, and performed well above my expectations, so I don't see why a T6 Nova shouldn't be just as impressive

Stealth that sucker and give it Universal BOff seating front to back. Give it Pilot spec on one of the LtCmdr seats and call it a Fleet Scout.
Make it the equivalent of the BoP in HP and ability to mount heavy weapons, but instead of a cloaking device the Nova uses a superior method of masking energy signatures which render it difficult to detect beyond 10km. I would make this a trait of the vessel which, when toggled on, reduces all power settings to 50, but makes the ship invisible beyond 10km. I'd also include a power spike of all systems to 100 for five seconds after toggling off, followed by a return to the player set levels.
Nucleogenic Injection should boost the TRIBBLE out of the engines, (not aux power,) similar to the old style deuterium consumables, but rather than a console, this is a ship trait.
This would be a tactical upgrade, making the Nova into an escort/science ship hybrid. While lacking the full speed of a Defiant, it could for short bursts exceed the speed of any escort. While lacking the full punch of an escort, it receives a significant boost to all systems when exiting stealth to allow simultaneous full power weapons and auxilliary attacks, with enough shield power and engine power to survive and escape.

I like the poor-man's cloaking device stealthing idea, because that's pretty scienc-y, but not so keen on the idea of the Pilot seating; I just think there're more science-things it could do with Temporal seating
Yes, canonically, nucleogenic injection should boost the engines, but what good is that in a battle, beyond what Evasive Manoeuvres and Ramming Speed can already achieve? Bear in mind, that not everyone would actually be able to handle and fly a ship well with a sudden boost in speed A boost to all power systems, however, that's something anyone could benefit from, regardless of piloting skill
And, my concept for the Neucleogenic Capacitor, is just a re-name of the Red Matter Capacitor. The stats I posted are a direct lift. The devs wouldn't need to do anything development but come up with a new icon for it

I dislike the Temporal seat on non-Temporal vessels, though I can understand the attraction.
Do you remember the Deuterium consumables you used to get from the Ferengi miner? It wasn't as fast as Evasives, you could still maintain control, (in a BoP or Recon, at least,) and it lasted a half minute or so. That is the speed boost I'm talking about. Set the cooldown to 2min so it is practical to use.
Imagine the Alpha Strike potential as you lay down firepower and toss grav wells around while evading everything the enemy can throw at you!

I do have a Temporal-qualified boff, but no Temporal ship, because I just don't really like how they look... But, I would catagorize Temporal Powers, as being 'scientific in nature', which is why I think they'd be a good fit for a Science ship, compared to Command, Intel or Pilot
I've not been playing long enough to have experienced those, but I get the idea you're meaning
For sure, it definitely sounds fun. As long as you can fly Not everyone here is Tom Paris

When it became possible, I made a Klink and from Level 10 on he exclusively flew BoP's. Then I found Deuterium boy and farmed cannisters until I found even better stuff to put in that slot. I think that character might still have a few five-packs stashed away.
You might not be a Paris, but you'll be a better pilot if you do this too. Plus, you will fall in love with the BoP, especially the Hegh'ta. Your melee-trained First Officer too. You'll love her almost as much as you love your BoP.
Remember, though, once you go Klingon the Feddy-Bears will be mean and not let you in their club anymore, but that's okay because you will be superior by then and see them for the mewling targ-spawn they are, fit only to be trod upon so that your boots aren't soiled by the ground they squirm on.

On a personal level, I can actually fly pretty well (Admitedly not as good as the person who posted a video of them flying a crop-duster upside down through the train tunnels of Mt. Chilliad on GTA V!!! That's not Paris-Level Flying, that's freaking Anakin Skywalker-Level Flying ) and I have to admit, flying around in a BoP probably helped the most in terms of developing the skills, as up till that point, I had mostly been flying Fed Cruisers. So when I came to try the Kazon Raider for chits and gigs, I was able to handle it pretty well, and not make a fool of myself during Red Alerts (although once those damn Spheres stripped the shields, things went down hill pretty quick) It handled very well against all the Delta Quadrant's space missions, even the Vaadwaur, because indeed, it could just fly out of range of their torpedo spam. But. I'm not thinkiing about the kind of ship which I necessarily want or could fly (although I will admit to a degree of bias in my stat proposal) but something which would appeal to anyone who's a fan of the Nova, or science ships in general

Man, I really want them to give us a T6 Nova (preferrably with a Pilot Boff seat) and a remodel of the original Nova and the Rhode Island. Just to see @reyan01 's dedication pay off.
Addendum: I still don't know why they didn't already do this in Delta Rising. The USS Rhode Island played an important, if not crucial, role in the storyline, and since this expansion was heavily VOY-based, let's not forget the "Equinox" two-parter (which is one of my favorite VOY episodes btw).

Don't care much for a Nova myself (don't hate it, just don't really need one per se), but there's something endlessly rewarding about seeing another player finally having his dream come true. Makes one think there's hope for us all. Is there, Cryptic?!
T6 Nova would be great. I rarely play fed, but when I do a torp fleet Nova is my first choice for my Fed sci captain (even though I bought the Sci whale triple pack to get at least something sciency for my KDF and Rom sci captains)
I have a single cannon/turret build on a scryer which would suit a nova perfectly especially since subsystem targeting now works with cannons as well.
Only drawback is that the current nova variants cannot use DC or DHC.
The first would be interesting with SST considering its high rate of fire.

Hmm. Commander Science seating. Aux Deflector. Sensor Analysis toggle. Subsystem targeting. Oh, and 4/3 weapons slots... You're saying the Paradox and Annorax aren't science ships then?
Now, when the T6 Nova happens, it almost certainly won't get 4/3 weapons -- I still think its special sumthin'-sumthin' is best served by making it a science-pilot ship -- but there's already 4/3 "true" science ships out there. They're just in the tiers above c-store.
