Will these new T6 ships feature the AUX Dual Heavy Cannons from the Vesta,
meaning AUX Disruptor / Plasma versions for Klingon / Romulan Captains?
Whilst I don't know for certain, it would be unusual for this not to be the case. The T6 Flagships are 'backward compatible' - or in other words, they're able to equip the items that their T5 counterparts use, so I'd imagine that the same will apply with the new MMSVs.
I didnt mean that the STARFLEET T6 ships were not able to equip the T5 AUX weapons from the Vesta.
Rather that the STARFLEET and KLINGON and ROMULAN T6 ship each have the same AUX weapons pre-equipped like the Vesta, thereby from now on allowing KLINGON and ROMULAN players to have access to disruptor / plasma versions of the T5 Vesta AUX Dual Heavy Cannons, which prior they HAD NOT.
Dumbing my questions down:
Does the Romulan T6 Vesta have AUX plasma dual heavy cannons pre-equipped?
Does the Klingon T6 Vesta have AUX disruptor dual heavy cannons pre-equipped?
Or:
1. AUX Phaser Dual Heavy Cannons are bound to character!
2. Starfleet players can switch all their >bound to character< AUX weapons from their T5 Vesta to the T6 version!
3. Klingon / Romulan players cannot do this as there is no T5 Vesta for them to get AUX weapons from.
This leads to:
1. Starfleet players WITH full access to AUX (phaser) weapons on their T6 Vesta
2. Klingon / Romulan players WITHOUT any access to AUX (disruptor / plasma) weapons on their T6 (Romulan / Klingon) Vesta
LOL, I'm probably going to get blasted for this, but I kinda had my fill of yet another series of Science ships, and just bought myself a Pilot Escort today, for my Rom alt. What can I say, I'm a traditionalist.
I dunno, the Gorn ships don't really look good in those screens. But I'll buy the full pack anyway,it's science!
they are T6's versions of the varanus, phalanx, and draguas respectively
You think they actually ar Tier 6 versions of these ships, and you can switch visual sbetween them? Or is it more a spiritual successor thing, like the Phantom was to the Defiant or the Guardian to the Ambassador?
most likely to be 'spiritual successor' unfortunately

I have an odd theory that we're wrapping up a science themed time for STO and we'll be seeing engineering focused ships for the next segment
A fleet mate of mine asked me yesterday in chat “What is it with the Vestas that makes them so desirable for so many players?” I was not able to give an answer to that because I simply don’t know.
Could somebody please tell me what the Vestas can do what other ships, sci or otherwise, can’t do better already?
Pre-Delta Rising with T5s it was the only science ship with a flight deck, and today alongside the Eternal are the only C-Store ships that has that, while the T6 Intrepid comes close with a single science pet but which cannot be controlled except for dock/undock.
Besides the Dysons, it was also the only sci with DHC support, uniquely Aux-powered. I don't know when the Vestas were released along the beams vs cannons alternating metas so it might have been significant, unlike today with so many set bonuses and abundance of ways to boost power levels, LtC or even CMD intel/DHC sci ships and sci dreads, unique weapon modifiers and quality upgrades, being stuck with traditional char-bound DHC phaser especially at MK XII VR (upgradable) doesn't seem like much of a deal. Its tactical heavy variant is also overshadowed by the Dauntless and others like the Dysons with their on-demand tac ship features.
The consoles and console set bonuses were and still are quite good. Invincibility bubble, fastest transwarp travel (unsure if this means top speed, or sustained), AoE heal bonuses, repelling bubble, exotic particle cannon, and exotic damage passives makes them actually useful and fun.
I initially bought them for looks and flexibility as my first Sci ships, and because we really didn't have all that many options back then. They are also fleet-grade. I wish they'd improve the existing models to have the blue textures on their warp nacelles animated as opposed to static.
They handled really good, but at the expense of that paper thin hull which is tricky to keep alive, especially with so much shield-bypassing damage, heavy bursts of torpedoes that obliterate shields and then hull, and exotic damage. Keeping my T5U Vesta alive in Counterpoint adv or maybe elite on my sci main was hard but doable, I think without any armor, always having to polarize hull or use other clickies on incoming torp barrages, at least on a exotic dmg/tac heavy hybid build with its 3 consoles equipped on a multi-purpose skill tree.
Vesta wasn't my first science ship, but she was the one I had the most fun in. And the fact I could crank full AUX do a TRIBBLE ton of damage and do space magic ontop of it, it was amazing. I'll pick up at a minimum the tier 6 vesta science ship. Might not get them all.

I started a back and forth with other players, and I have to agree with them, I think the devs short changed the Vesta line. Why? If you look at the command set bonuses, which are the most similar ones, we get a bonus to a ship stat with every extra console and this has been the standard lately for console sets to incentivize the use of multiple consoles from a set. With this T6 Vesta line, they just added bonuses to the consoles themselves past the 2 piece bonus. Unless those consoles are so OP that they compensate for the loss of a console slot and clicking them every minute will bring death and destruction to all or give an awesome benefit (Like the temporal consoles), I doubt most players will bother with more than one console.

and you know this how when the set bonuses have yet to be revealed? they weren't in yesterday's blog, just what the consoles themselves and the starship traits do

To summarize:
Weapons slots 3 Front, 3 Rear (Edit: can equip dual cannons, but nothing on AUX Cannons for T6 - so can't get one for KDF or ROMs)
3 Device Slots
Consoles - depends on type
BOFF setup - depends on type, all have Lieutenant-Commader Temporal/Universal
1 Hangar on all ships (KDF got new Fighter type)
all other stats - translate yourself, or wait for US blog, i don't get most of it...
I do not want to buy this multi-mission-science-vessel-pack. It is scratched.
No seriously, the Vesta-class never interested me and the Gorn ships don't look good. They kinda look like the launch models. The new shuttle pet is neat though, but it's not worth it for me. The Romulan ships look best of the three this time, but again I have the science cross pack and I don't even use the Klingon or Romulan variants of those (no character to put in atm) so I won't grind for either single or pack here. A very distant maybe would be the Gorn ships at some point, but this is if I have everything else I could gind dil for, including outfits still in the store.

Yeah, like the T6 Cross-Faction Science Bundle and the Lukari 'Hokum' (sic). Nope, haven't seen any Science in years.

Before last year's event, it was always escort->cruiser->escort->cruiser. We were stuck in an endless loop of the same over and over. Game has a glut of those two types.
As for my comment about the set bonuses, I just realized, they put the stats on the consoles themselves instead of the set bonuses, so ships awesome.
of course you can...that's not the point he was making - you don't waste drydock slots on something that can be infinitely reclaimed when dismissed, you use them for ships that CAN'T

Really disappointed in the set bonuses. They feel so uninspired and I especially dislike the trend of just empowering all the other consoles a little bit. I miss the days when you got the Thalaron blast on the Scimitar, the impenetrable bubble on the old Vestas, or even the Oblivion gateway on the Vonph. Made the sets feel really epic, even if they weren't exactly the most powerful abilities. I don't even want these ships now after seeing the set bonuses.
When they release on Thursday they will be on Sale for the Weekend. Either 10,000 or 9,600 for the Mucho Grande Pack, 5,000 or 4,800 for Faction triples, and 2,500 or 2,400 for an individual Ship. Discount depends on whether they go for the T5 Pack Rates or just apply a 20% Discount for these Ships only.
Of course they could fool us all and have an all Ship 20% off Sale.

Huh?
1) Each of these consoles passively boost some stat which none of those consoles do.
2) The set bonuses probably makes these pack a punch (I assume given how powerful the Command console tachyon pulse platform drain console is when you use all the consoles).
3) You can use these more frequently than any of the consoles you mentioned there when using all.
I think you just want some seizure inducing light show ability (Which have always sucked and been toned down after being put in-game) for the sake of a console "feeling epic".
Yeha I am wondering that too if it can use the original vesta designs, but also if the Gorn multi-mission explorer can use the parts of the original Varanus gorn support science ship. I would not mind if we could use updated parts based off the Vulcan D'Kyr science ship, so long as we own it on a federation character of that account, mostly since it does say it was developed with aid from the alliance an vulcan engineers.

You kind of missed my point. I didn't say the consoles were bad, they look like great fun. I'm just saying the set bonuses themselves aren't exciting. My post had nothing to do with how good anything was.
I don't much care for light show abilities, but it's nice to have something to show for collecting entire ship sets instead of "your radiation does more damage now". Exciting stuff.
I do wish they had some sort of crazy 6 peice console bonus, and that they gave the T5 consoles some passives too.
By the way, what is that on the foward bridge section of the Brigid? It should be a2ndary deflector, but almost looks like the forward hangar bay of the Jupiter.
It's nice to have something to show for collecting entire ship sets instead of "your radiation does more damage now".
Before you had to equip extra consoles to get some random stat boost and they moved those to the consoles themselves with this set. It's the exact same thing that with the other newer console sets, they just moved the place where you got the skill boost. Again, not sure why you're complaining.
Not sure what else you want form equipping more than one console. Make the ship glow from all its power? The boosts are pretty nice.

Again, for the third time, I've not mentioned anything about stats! I am not a min-maxer, I don't equip consoles to do crazy dps. I use consoles that are fun or do something UNIQUE. Buffing some damage type, lowering cooldowns, etc is fine and dandy but all I said is I thought the set bonuses were uninspiring. These ships look fine otherwise. Maybe I should have expected the 4 piece set bonus to be what it is. They did the same thing with last years star cruisers and command cruisers.
How do you rationalize what I've said about wanting an ability, as wanting my ship to glow with power? I've not once said these ships or consoles look weak. I suggest reading and comprehending it, or just move along. I've expressed my opinion, and that's all I came here to do.
Any1 else think this was a missed opportunity for Cryptic to give the KDF and Romulan's a version of the "Aux Phaser Dual Heavy Cannons" that the Tier 5 Vesta's got ?
