that doesn't dobe well for fans of the Luna class.

it doesn't look even remotely close like luna..... welp ok "remotely" but it's remoteness is same as with every other fed starship with this kind of saucer section.....

I thought the nacelles and pylons were angled farther down. Having seen more pictures of that model, I can see the nacelles get now where close enough to be luna like. So I can permit myselt to pass on it. Nebula & Scryer can continue to fill my Fed Science needs.

Now to get my hands on those Gorn Ships.
Thanks for the Advanced Light Cruiser, Allied Escort Bundles, Jem-Hadar Light Battlecruiser, and Mek'leth

yeah i used using my T5 vesta i decided to take a closer look at the T6 vesta looks as the images are sometimes hard to get a picture and, wow.

All i can say is im so glad i didn't jump at their purchase the hull is overweight and the saucers are nothing to scream over did like the necells over the originals but no way am i buying a ship just for that.

I would have enjoyed if they made the Aux cannons, would have been nice to have the tier five and tier six have different aux cannons on them (like that one have dual aux cannons an the other has dual heavy aux cannons), but more so it would be nice if they allowed the aux cannons to be usable on more than just the Vesta/Multi-mission explorer line. Even if they just tagged them to be usable on dual cannon capable science ships, since even the quad-cannons of the tactical escort are not locked to a ship in the manner these aux cannons are. Though I would prefered if they made it less that the cannons drained Aux power an more that they used your aux power to determine their damage bonus like normal weapons use weapon power, since that would make them more desirable an interesting to use on science ships, even if they split the power drain between weapon an aux power it would not be as gimping.

I imagine only those who really want the T6 Vesta are going to pay full price seeing as the packs are conspicuously absent from the 20% ship sale. I recall Cryptic/PW used to exclude the newest ships from discounts but stopped doing that years ago, seems they've started again.

If the ship actually broke with the Science Vessel tradition of having weapons in a 3/3 arrangement and did what some escorts and cruisers have by moving one of the mounts to the front to have a 4/2 configuration I might have been interested. As things stand I'm in no rush to buy these, especially as the Lukari offering is effectively free and became available at the same time.

Having just acquired the last two T6 CF packs in the current sale (cruiser and sci vessel) and depleted my Zen, I'm hardly going to shell out for a bundle that I'm pretty 'meh' about, especially as it's full price.

T6 Ships were mainly released at T5 Prices for the first weekend of release. Only got the 20% Discount when they were released on Black Friday Weekend.

    I will wait until discounted.

Now if we can get a crafting project to create aux versions of other energies like they did with the omnidirectional beams and the wide arc cannons. aux antiproton or aux polarons etc.

Yup. I may buy some zeni while there is a % bonus, but after already owning the Eternal there is just no way I can justify buying these at full price.

But they do appear to be fleet-out-of-the-box, so this mega-pack is right at the top of the list when we have the next ship sale and they're included.

Today, I'm thinking more escort cruiser bundle for a ship trait for my carrier captain(s).

Four pages and we're still talking about science ships?

Just came across a screenshot of non-Fed aux-powered DHC on reddit >here<. Wish I'd have more of a confirmation that this is indeed true.

Back when she was state-of-the-art, I loved my Vesta with a passion. She was my pride and joy, and I flew her 'til the nacelles fell off :)

But I never once used that Aux Cannon. I stripped it off and put it in the bank as soon as I named the ship. Because it draws power from Aux, and I want my Aux sky-high when I throw out that GW3. In spite of some comments directed my way in other threads, I have always considered weapons of secondary importance on any Sci Ship. Plus cannons were range-nerfed before the skill update, and I retired my Vesta for a Krenim Sci ship at last year's anniversary, before the skill revamp came in.

Now, today the situation has changed a bit. We have more tools to keep power levels up, and resist power drain. I'd freely admit that Cannon might make more sense now than it did in the days when T-5u was the ne plus ultra. But can we really consider the Aux cannon in isolation? Don't we need to think about it as part of a package of weapons, and how that weapons package will work together? Speaking of changes, there's also the change to Plasmonic Leech, such that it no longer boosts Weapon power directly, but dumps the power leeched into the general power pool, which then has to filter through EPS* to get back to weapons.

(*awkward way of putting it, but you know what I mean)

In summary, alcyone, I'm not sure. If the Dorito doesn't work out for me, I might buy one of the new T6 Vestas, but I already have the Eternal, and I'm just not seeing a pressing reason to set that aside for one of the new Vestas.

There is a glut of excellent T6 science vessels right now. IMO the Eternal is still the best in terms of effectiveness and value (cross faction c-store unlock) and accesses a specialization that heavily compliments science.

But when when you get down to it, even with the Eternal around, you can't go wrong with any of the T6 science vessels. Even the old Scryer and Dauntless are still great platforms.
