Enough with the Logs on DS9 already!

Is anyone else tired of this?

Every new reputation now, whenever you advance a Tier you have to go 'read mission logs on DS9.' Really? they can't just transmit them to me? I can't read them on ESD or better yet in the Captain Quarters on my own ship?

What is with the obsession with making us all go to DS9 just to read a mission log? I hardly ever go to the Alpha Quadrant, so it's annoying to constantly have to travel there just to click 'next' and then leave.

Can we please consider allowing us to read these logs from a more convenient location?

Not really tired of it, although it is slightly annoying that you get them automatically. When doing reputations on a new character, receiving these kind of missions from 4 or 5 different reputations with no option to just drop them and do it at a later point is somewhat irritating.

But I'm happy they incorporated something of a story in the reputations - still think the Dyson one with the Nelen Exil cutscenes was the best way of doing it. But text is nice to have, too.

Maybe Sarrish Minna is a dev's waifu, so they want you to see her a lot.

But yeah, I would prefer if they were sent to my computer files, to finally give another excuse to visit the bridge during the storyline.

If you go to ds9 to read the Lukari one be careful ... all five are unlocked ... being curious I read them all. I ruined the S12 plot for myself :'(

Edit: Assuming the logs are linked to the story ... if not ... I ruined random background Lukari stuff!

Yeah, that too.. it really muddies up your quest log.

I like this idea as well, the only issue I see with it is that some ships don't have a Captains 'ready room.' I know my Vengeance and other Lobi ships don't. It would be nice though if it could be accessed from the Bridge or from an alternate location like ESD/New Romulus/Qo'nos.

It's a cheap, easy way to copy/paste content, just like the battlezones.

I agree, having them in our computer and visiting our bridge for a little time out would make a lot more sense. "Stop by at DS9 to beam down and manually look at them in Ops" is weirdly specific and doesn't make much sense.

I'd rather read them in my ready room.

Only a minor annoyance, but yeah, the only time I go to DS9 these days, is for these logs.

Can only assume someone broke the subspace transmitter on DS9, and with out O'Brien there to fix it, they said said feck it...

True, but normally, every single ship has a console dedicated solely for the decoding of the Tal Shiar data you recover in Mine Enemy. It could be used again.

Yeah, I agree that it's a minor thing, it's just something I would prefer to see changed.

I find it funny though that they can send you a message telling you that you have to come to the station to read.. a message. It's like receiving an email on my phone asking me to go to my PC and check my email. :)

I think it is to make DS9 more important as a big social hub. After the Omega stuff went away from it, there was a lot less reason to visit it.

If we all go there regular,y In the long run, it justifies @tacofangs finally revamping the place!

@seaofsorrows that's exactly what I thought. Why are you hailing me and telling me I have to travel to ds9 for a message? Just send me the message.

Anything that lets taco do a remodel of ds9 is a good thing methinks......

agreed, it is kinda overdue for a revamp anyway.

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

Big DS9, map, story revamp, and gamma quadrant expansion all in one would make me a happy camper, and though its not slated for anytime soon you cant help but wonder if all these things are coming at some point in the future.

IMO they should either have real missions or at least cutscenes for the tiers, like the romulan rep, or nothing at all.

The text messages are just lame and being forced to go to DS9 to clear them off my mission list is ridiculous.

The developers are in a hard place here- they can't keep up with the bugs and can barely manage the release schedule. Thus we don't get cut scenes. Nor do we get enough missions to give us this information as a part of. So it's either reading a wall of text like this in the game, or reading their blog posts. And they've selected a mix of those two unappealing options.

Even so, I'd like to take the message either on my bridge or in my ready room. I don't see any reason for the DS9 stop at all.

It wouldn't be so bad if you had a easy to get transwarp there, but it takes maxing out your diplomacy to get one.

Also annoying if you are a Klingon and the lady there chews you out for being a Klingon. Excuse me, I saved your damn station....

they can't keep up with the bugs and can barely manage the release schedule.
Given how few bugs I have personally experienced, and how Cryptic rarely delays things, both of these assessments seem without merit.

You sir either aren't paying attention, aren't playing the game, or don't understand the game you're playing. I typically encounter multiple bugs every time I log on.
    1. Tonight- Traits unslotted from character. Bug has existed for years.
    2. Tonight- Power Tray unslotted previously slotted abilities. Bug has existed for years.
    3. Tonight- Unable to turn in Cherry and Extreme Lime - Rare Epohh. Bug dates from start of last Winter Event.
    4. Tonight- Unable to play the new Battlezone. Bug is only a few days as of now
    5. Tonight- Ferasan Weapon Manufacturing Techniques no longer seems to create Tegolar Swords for months (I could just be unlucky. But I slotted the mission yet again expecting failure).
    6. Tonight- Do not have full color selection on Merc Pants for Female BOFFs as I do with male BOFFs. Stuck with yellow knee pads forever- months old.
    7. Tonight- Can't put Rank insignia on my vet Android TOS uniform.

And that's just what's in my face at the moment. The first two are serious, and require me to both to check and then rebuild my character before playing.

There are many others- but I in general avoid those parts of the game so I didn't encounter them today.

WHAT?! reuse the library computer for something new??!!! blasphemy!! Cryptic will not allow you to make sensible reuse of things already in game!!

snark aside I wondered why they didnt use that in the first place myself... would much rather it be there
